Is there an API for devs to add announcements?

For instance, a website is updated with new info or files for download.  Is there an API available for posting this info to announce the update?
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What happens to Bitcoin if Central Banks start issuing their own cryptocurrency? on: September 18, 2017, 04:58:05 AM
Posted today on Reuter's wire:

http://www.kitco.com/news/2017-09-17/Too-Soon-to-Determine-Risks-of-Central-Bank-Issued-Cryptocurrencies-BIS.html

They are thinking about it!  Bitcoin has made an inroad, but will it make bankers honest? Or is it just a ploy to regain control of the money supply?
3  Economy / Economics / Equifax Hack - What to do about it... on: September 16, 2017, 03:42:27 PM
You  need to be aware that the US Federal Trade Commission has issued an alert on 14September2017 warning of phishing scams related to the recent Equifax breach.  Please be aware of phone calls or emails purporting to be from Equifax.  Equifax representatives will NOT contact individuals and ask them to verify their information.  Additionally, the FTC has issued recommendations for steps you can take to protect yourself from potential identity theft resulting from this breach – please keep reading to learn more.

So what Happened?

Here are the facts, according to Equifax. The breach lasted from mid-May through July. The hackers accessed people’s names, Social Security numbers, birth dates, addresses and, in some instances, driver’s license numbers. They also stole credit card numbers for about 209,000 people and dispute documents with personal identifying information for about 182,000 people. And they grabbed personal information of people in the UK and Canada too.

Steps you can take to protect your identity:

Find out if your information was exposed (or assume it was if you’ve ever used credit).  Go to Equifax's official website, www.equifax.com, and proceed from there; do not trust other sources.
Even if your information was not exposed in this breach, you can still sign up for a year of free credit monitoring through Equifax.
Check your credit reports from Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion – for free.
Consider placing a credit freeze on your files.
Monitor your existing credit card and bank accounts closely for charges you don’t recognize.
If you decide against a credit freeze, consider placing a fraud alert on your files.
File your taxes early, as soon as you have the information, before a scammer can.

Remember to be suspicious of phone calls and emails asking for your personal information.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / BitBean looking for suggestions to name its smallest unit on: September 21, 2016, 01:38:48 PM
When BitBean was first created, the base unit was named after nokat, the original developer, much like the bitcoin community named the satoshi after Satoshi Nakamoto.

Since "nokat" tried to dump all of his coins and crash the BitBean blockchain shortly after launching it, we believe the name for this unit should be changed.  To that end, we are asking the community to suggest appropriate names.

Some suggestions have been put forward:
shawn - after the current lead developer who spends many uncompensated hours working on the project
lentil - "because they are tiny beans"

Please help us add to this list, or add your support for the suggestions already submitted.

We will conduct a more formal poll later.

5  Bitcoin / Project Development / Coinbase bitcoin price ticker website widget on: May 23, 2016, 07:07:26 AM
I was using a bitcoin price ticker widget to display the current bitcoin price on my website, but it stopped working, so I made my own.

After showing them a mock-up of my plan, I got permission from coinbase to use their logo in this context.

Here is a screenshot of the final product:

After posting this on my site and announcing it to some friends, I was requested to make a narrower version.  Here is a screenshot of it:

You can view it live at Whitebeard's Cottage or get it for your own site at get widget link.
