4  Economy / Service Announcements / CoinPrize.com | Win LOTS of Bitcoins in NASDAQ stock forecast! on: August 16, 2013, 01:49:35 AM

Hi Bitcoiners,

I'm proud to announce my exciting website, CoinPrize.com -- a NASDAQ stock-betting game using bitcoins. All data comes from Yahoo Finance that makes it quite different from many casino games. I would say https://coinprize.com is the fairest game, simply because it solely depends on the NASDAQ data, no server side generated randomness involved, completely provably fair for all players.

It’s also different from casino games because you’re not betting against the host. Instead, you’re betting with the other players who make opposite choices to yours. That means the more people who are betting against you, the more you can win. So invite your friends, and spread the words!

Here’s how it works: For each betting round, given the last close price available at the moment you played, you bet increase or decrease on the close price of the given forecasting date. If the close price of forecasting date is higher or lower than the last close price just like what you predicted, you win.

Pretty much like satoshidice.com, you don't need to register for an account to play and bitcoins are sent back to the original input address when you win. Just start your bitcoin wallet -- let's say bitcoin-qt, for example -- copy the address you are betting on -- say, you bet on GOOG to grow -- then copy the address under the green label "grow address" -- and enter the amount of BTC that you want to bet and send it to that address. There’s a minimum bet of 0.1 BTC and no max bet. The more you bet, of course, the more you win in proportion to the total amount bet by the opposite participants in relation to all winners. Like we said, you win more when more people are betting against you.

Here’s more about the rules:
  • Winning a forecast round means the forecast close price rise or fall as what you predicted, and the absolute value of the forecast close  price minus the based close price is larger than $0.01. But if the absolute value is less than or equal to $0.01, host wins. To write it in formula: If |forecast_close_price - base_close_price| > $0.01 you or your opponents wins. If |forecast_close_price - base_close_price| <= $0.01, host wins.
  • The minimum bet is 0.1 BTC. Any input that is less than this amount will be returned during that transaction’s payout time. This may take more than 24 hours but less than 48 hours, depending on the time the transaction is being received during the entire betting day.
  • There's no maximum bet. The more you bet, the more you win in proportion to the total amount bet by the opposite participants in relation to all winners. If no one bet against you when betting day is closed, you get all your bitcoins back.
  • CoinPrize.com as the host will share 19 percent of your winnings excluding your original bet. If you bet 0.3 BTC and have won 1.0 BTC, for example, then you will get 0.3 + 0.81 BTC -- or 1.11 BTC total.

10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Website for bitcoiners to live with ONLY bitcoins on: July 16, 2013, 03:25:09 PM
I'm wondering if someone can make a website that like google but searches and shows on map of where bitcoiners can use bitcoins globally for groceries, restuarants, tools, transports etc.

A bitcoin survival website! bitcoiners only have bitcoins can live without Fiat money, they can buy foods with bitcoins, transport using bitcoins, go to a Dr. using bitcoins, go to gyms using bitcoins, buy air tickets, train tickets, bus ticket, taxi with bitcoins GLOBALLY anywhere, and that concept will spread as what it used to be spreading for ebay (live without leaving your room)!

If anyone with the technical skills, any skills that could make the website alive and popular, volunteer yourself, we'll gonna make a miracle!

I have a great idea,

If someone can make a bitcoin casino which serves a lot of ads and the ads incomes that used to goes to the casino website turns to goes to every player on the website as play-only (non-withdraw) bitcoins so that every new members can play with real bitcoins and if they won, they can withdraw, if they loses, the money still goes to the casino website.

What do you guys think?
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / what do you think about bitcoin hashing function? on: July 12, 2013, 08:53:39 PM
Any mining software or ASIC uses the extraNounce to mine?
We all know that the nounce is 4 byte number which maps to a 32 bytes sha256 output, there's a huge prbability that mining a block may fail if extraNounce is not used. I'm just wondering are those mining software or ASIC machines like BFL using it?

I was thinking about the mining function M(nounce_of_4_bytes) -> 32_bytes_sha256, and looked at the latest block hash "000000000000000fe5ed4fe9d5d6d976e0e567ccc6484835a9761a3bdf9df8f0".

This 32 bytes number is getting smaller and smaller, and the difficuty is gettting a big jump recently (http://bitcoindifficulty.com/), since if no extraNounce were used, the function M will definitely be a injective function, which means, when difficutly gets larger and larger, the mining will definitely has huge probability of failing and more and more frequently, UNLESS extraNounce were used.

Do you agree? What do you guys think about this?

BTC $66, seems everyone is dumping? Anyone has an idea about why? I don't understand, people are not trusting bitcoin anymore? or it's because people are rushing for the BFL boxes?

How many of bitcointalkers having deep knowledge of bitcoin network design, especially network difficulties changes and block chain protocols AND STILL think ASIC, BFL, Avalon mining are good investment?

For those who's still holding bitcoins with great values, you might bet better start thinking of solving the issue of bitcoin circulation in ordinary life, like bitcoin ebay, bitcoin movie, bitcoin music, bitcoin food.... that's the only way to save bitcoin.
