21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / [CLOSED] MRO Monero trading thread and OTC xchg on: April 21, 2014, 12:26:34 AM
The OTC exchange is now closed

If you have escrowed coins, please contact me to redeem them. I will eventually track you down in any case

Congratulations to all early participants. Your efforts have now taken MRO to the next level where it is being traded on multiple web exchanges.

I am still available to escrow on a case-by-case basis.

-------

This is a trading thread and OTC exchange for Monero (MRO), the anonymous currency based on cryptonote ring signatures with no premine, no IPO, no tax, and a bitcoin-like years-long mining reward schedule.

Post bids and offers here or PM them to me and I will collect them into this first post. Important: If you wish to modify or cancel your order, please do not edit your post. Make a new post, quoting the first. Otherwise I may not see the edit and update the order book in the first post correctly.

I will escrow for 1% 0% and if you presubmit your coins into escrow with me, your orders will be displayed in bold without your name, and the order can be filled through me. Tips accepted.

Partial fills are allowed by default. If you do not want partial fills, please specify that your order is all-or-none (AON).

Orders displayed in bold can be executed with the OP (either post or PM). Other orders must be done peer-to-peer. If you try to fill an order and the counterparty does not honor the order or reply within 24 hours, post on the thread and the order will be removed.

25  Economy / Auctions / AntMiner S1 on: April 13, 2014, 01:44:12 AM
Selling one AntMiner S1. This is an early December batch with bundled PCI-E adapters. It has been mining for four months with no problems, never overclocked. Works perfectly.

US only.

Shipping is NOT included in your auction price. Please do not bid with shipping included or your bid will not be accepted. Shipping will be added to the winning price, with your choice of shipping method, assuming it requires a signature. Too many people have too many different opinions about how they want things sent to include shipping.

I don't have a picture, but I may add one to the thread tomorrow. It looks like an S1.

Auction will end 48 hours after this post or 5 minutes after the last high bid, whichever comes later.

Bid away.

27  Economy / Currency exchange / Options trading thread on: April 04, 2014, 11:15:34 PM
If anyone is interested in trading OTC options, here's a central place for it.

I'll start by wanting to buy a standard american call on 1 BTC at 650 expires April 15

Anybody want to sell that call? You'll have to escrow the btc unless I trust you.

28  Economy / Currency exchange / $100 money pak (code with receipt) WTB btc give me a price on: March 31, 2014, 01:13:36 AM

29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Altcoin<->btc loans on: March 23, 2014, 12:17:37 AM
I have been lending btc against altcoins as collateral in the btc Lending forum. If you have altcoins and would like to apply for a btc loan posting those coins as collateral, see my thread there. If you would like to borrow altcoins by posting btc as collateral you can post here. Either way you can PM me. I'm also open to other loan terms but loans collateralized by some other coin seem popular.

For anyone who is wondering why you might want to do this instead of just trading one for the other, aside from liquidity reasons, it can be useful for leverage and shorting. So if you trade between coins this gives you another option.
30  Economy / Lending / Loans offered on: March 19, 2014, 08:20:42 AM
Collateralized loans only, unless you have insanely strong reputation (in which case I probably already know who you are so if I don't, don't bother).

I have 100+ BTC to lend. I can raise more if there is a strong proposal.

I have a long-term reputation on this forum and I can point to other trading reputation.

Minimum loan amount is 0.05 0.5.

PM or reply with loan requests meeting these criteria.

31  Economy / Currency exchange / Buying BTC (US only) on: March 17, 2014, 07:39:27 AM
I want to buy some BTC for investment purposes. I will pay bitstamp for the following methods:

1. Cash in the mail (US only). You pay postage using the method of your choice (will be deducted)

2. Postal Money order (US only). Service charge of $1.60 plus postage using the method of your choice, to be deducted from the amount of the money order

BTC to be sent by you first, and amount of the trade determined by the bitstamp price at the time of sending. Escrow using recognized and trusted escrow agents is acceptable if you pay the escrow fee.

Please do not reply suggesting any other methods of payment, not interested at this time.
32  Bitcoin / Mining / PSA: p2pool needs YOUR help! on: March 17, 2014, 03:01:26 AM
As you may know, p2pool provides true decentralized pooled mining. You share block rewards with other p2pool miners, but there is no pool operator(*) who could steal your coins (or even delay payouts) or short change your share of the pool, or get hacked, or anything else. Your payouts will come directly from the mined blocks. And since there is no central node for the pool, it is highly DDOS resistant. Even if you are using a public node, and that node were unavailable for some reason, you can easily switch to another one (see below).

This is where you come in. In the past people have had trouble using some ASIC-based miners with p2pool, and unfortunately growth of p2pool began to stall. While p2pool has been holding its own in terms of hash rate, the overall network has grown, so p2pool's share has declined to the point where blocks are not being solved on a regular basis. This further discourages miners (especially smaller miners) from joining.

We badly need more miners to increase the hash rate, solve more blocks, and keep p2pool available as a pure peer-to-peer alternative to the centralized pools.

Fortunately, p2pool is now known to work perfectly with most of the newer miners including Ant Miner S1's and Cointerra Terraminer IV (others listed on the main thread and wiki). If you have any of these, please give p2pool a try.

There are two ways to use p2pool:

1. Use a public node(*). There is a list of public nodes here: http://p2pool-nodes.info/ . Some other public nodes that have been mentioned on this forum and have their own support threads are nastyfans.org:9332 (0% fee, merge-mined coins support the node) and http://mine.p2pool.com:9332  (1% fee).

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=504700.0 [p2pool.com]
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=86854.0 [nastyfans pool -- scroll down a bit on post #1]

2. Operate your own p2pool node. This is true decentralized peer-to-peer mining with no central pool operator. The down side is that you have to run your own copy of the p2pool software and a full bitcoin node. If you already have a full bitcoin node, adding p2pool is relatively low cost.

Here are some resources for running your own p2pool node:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=62842.0 [merged mining]
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=153232.0 [optimization and tuning]
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/P2Pool [general info]

If you are willing and able to try running your own p2pool node and you have at least 5 TH of capacity, I will help you with setup and ongoing maintenance purely as a volunteer to help the community. No tips even.

(*) If you use a public node, there is an operator who could theoretically tamper with the node and cheat you somehow. I'm not aware of this ever happening. If you have doubts about a node, use another one.

34  Economy / Scam Accusations / Scam alert - bogus miner buyers on craigslist on: February 16, 2014, 06:59:29 PM
There is a ring of guys who troll every local craigslist looking for people selling miners.

I have verified this by posting in multiple different locations, specifying local buyers only. These idiots are dumb enough to respond using the same name on their email (craiglist hides their actual email but keeps their name) regardless of the location.

When they find a victim, they will ask you to have the machine mine for them on their worker for a few hours as a test. They will say they like what they see and agree to buy the machine but can't come pick it up until the next day. Of course, they will ask you to keep it mining overnight. Then the next day they will come up with some excuse like a family emergency, car break down, etc. to delay the supposed meeting, but they will want the miner to keep going on their worker. (Of course there never was and never is going to be any real meeting; they aren't even in the same city.)

Once you finally pull the plug, you will likely soon receive another such offer from a different member of the ring.

The idea of course, is to stretch out the amount of free mining they can get. Generally they only get a small fraction of a BTC from each miner, but they are running this scam all over the place, so they probably get a lot of free mining.

Watch out. Don't give free mining as a test.

35  Economy / Currency exchange / WTS BTC for PS$ on: January 25, 2014, 12:06:33 AM
I want to sell BTC at bitstamp plus 5% and get paid by player transfer on PS. You send first. You can rely on my ratings here or on otc or localbitcoins to establish trust, and I would also like to start with a smaller trade with larger trades to follow. PM
36  Bitcoin / Mining support / bfgminer stratum proxy on: January 08, 2014, 11:02:54 PM
I'm trying to get my ant miner S1's to work through bfgminer stratum proxy so I can control my pool in one spot rather than connecting to the web interface on each miner.  I start bfgminer with --stratum-port X then set pool 1 appropriately to IP:X on each miner. I have bfgminer configured with eligius as my first pool. The Ants seem to connect and show the pool as "alive." Bfgminer reports eligius as alive. But I get 100% rejects and bfgminer reports 100% HW errors. Ant miners work fine when connected to eligius (or most other pools) directly.

How can I debug (or fix) this? Not much in the way of debug output on the ant miner side.

I have 3000 memorycoin 2.0 to sell. Asking 0.00075 BTC, which is just above the bid on BTER but well below the ask, so 2.25 BTC for the lot. You send first, and I have an excellent reputation on here for almost 3 years.

Last time I sold these they were gone in 15 minutes so don't delay.

38  Economy / Computer hardware / [SOLD] 7x ASICMINER blade 71 GH rig, supporting hardware, all or part (auction) on: December 28, 2013, 08:55:58 PM
EDIT: Main rig (7x blades, backplane, PSU) is sold. Broken blade sold.  New auction for remaining parts to open soon (new post).

(Fan, ethernet switch, Raspberry Pi, RPi power adapter, Airport Express, power strip, and tables not included in auction but PM me for a price if you really want them.)

I'm selling because I've since expanded to higher speed/volume mining and these aren't high enough hash rate to be worth my trouble any more. They work fine, except as specified.

You may bid for one or more of the items listed below.  If you only want your bid to apply if you win all the items you bid for, say so, otherwise you may win some items but not others.

1. 7 ASICMINER v2 blades, running fine for the past month or so. Total hash rate on eligius is 71.05 GH as reported by bfgminer.

2. 1 ASICMINER blade backplane, used with above blades

3. 1 ASICMINER blade backplane, new in box and unused.

4. 1 HP server power supply, used to power above blades, includes 120 V power cord.

5. 2 HP server power supplies, unused brand new, no power cord included.

6. 1 apparently-fried ASICMINER blade (I think I plugged it in backwards to the backplane). It doesn't work but maybe you can change a fuse or otherwise fix it? Buyer assumes risk item is unrepairable.

7. 7 ASICMINER blade molex power adapters. I haven't used these because I'm using the backplane but if you want one or two blades they might be a better choice. Otherwise you might want to buy one for each blade to have for resale value.

8. 7 1' ethernet cables, useful for hooking up blades.

I will choose which bids I accept at close of auction (within a week, I will give warning when closing it). Bids for more of the items will get a slight preference at my discretion as it is less work for me. Cost of shipping and handling for priority mail is included with bids. USA only. Buyer assumes risk of lost or damaged shipments and may request insurance (again at buyer's expense).  Payment is in advance, escrow allowed at buyers expense subject to approval of escrow agent by seller.

EDIT: See post #2 for update on leading/winning bid.

EDIT 2: Everyone seems to want to include shipping in their bids so I'm now including basic priority mail shipping and handling at no extra charge. If you want different shipping and/or insurance that will be actual cost to be determined after the close of bidding.

I have 1600 MMC, will trade for BTC.

Terms: Slightly below bter market price (currently I would sell the lot for 0.0007, higher for smaller pieces). You send first, but we can break up the trade if that makes you more comfortable.

EDIT: sold
40  Economy / Currency exchange / WTS 30-50 BTC for USD on: November 25, 2013, 11:44:02 PM
I'm looking to sell 30-50 BTC in some way that I'm not going to get scammed, probably bank wire or something like that. Escrow is definitely possible. I've been around bitcoin and this forum for a couple of years and I traded a bunch way back in the day (mostly between namecoins and bitcoins) but I've not done anything near the current values, so I'm looking for advice how to do it safely.  Post here or PM
