2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / [Dayun Zig Z1] Is it a thing? Lyra2Rev2 miner 6.8/GH on: September 26, 2018, 12:48:28 PM
So, found that one:
https://www.asicminervalue.com/miners/dayun/zig-z1

Is it a thing, or a scam like someone thinks?

It is also sold by https://asicminermarket.com/product/28nm-lyra2rev2-asic-miner-dayun-zig-z1-ship-now/ , which is a known trusted website (correct me if wrong).

Could not find infos about the company or an official website tho.

Just some resellers like:

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Powering 12 gpu with 1 PSU - how to split cables for risers on: June 25, 2018, 06:35:38 AM
Hi everyone!
So, I've bought some of those https://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B07C1QWM8S/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=A1YAZWMMSVJHC4&psc=1
They work just fine on my vega rigs, so I'd like to use them for 12x 570 rigs aswell.
The problem is, that PSU comes with 6 PCI cables (12 6+2 connectors in total) and 4 utility cables (each cable has 2x sata and 2x molex, so 8x sata and 8x molex total available).
Is there a way to split the utility cables to power the 12 risers and the ssd? I know a riser can pull up to 75W, so I was wondering if using 2x molex + 1x sata from each cable may cause fire somehow. At the end of it, the main question is how many watts can one of those utility cables provide safely without getting overloaded?
PS: i'm using 006c version risers, so eventually I would get molex to 6 pin and sata to 6 pin adapters.
Thanks!
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / PCI 1x risers power requirements with psu cables on: June 16, 2018, 08:26:23 PM
Hi there.
So, I bought 2 of those https://www.amazon.com/KKmoon-Switching-Efficiency-Ethereum-180-260V/dp/B077JD399B/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1529180530&sr=8-6&keywords=kkmoon+switching for my 2 vega rigs of 6 cards each, and it works fine.
Now, since it has 12x 6+2 pin, I was going to try it also for a 12x 570 rig.
The problem is that it comes with 4 cables, each with 2x sata and 2x moles, and if I had to follow the "rule", I could only power 2 risers with each cable (got the 6pin to sata risers), so 4 risers left.
Also, I need 2x sata connectors for the mobo (those for multiple gpus)..
Would it be risky to run 3 risers on each cable, with mixes sata and molex connectors? Also considering that 2 of those cables would have the 4th connector on the mobo.
Thanks!
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / How to configure claymore to mine keccak on: February 21, 2018, 11:47:58 AM
Hi there.
I've search all around, but seems like no one is really interested in mining keccak, while I am.
I can't manage to make it work.
When i try to mine SMART, the official pool gives a authentication error.
When i try to mine other coins like CREA, i just get 100% rejected shares.

Does claymore have problems with that algo or i'm doing something wrong?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / higher calculated hashrate than reported hashrate.. error or luck? on: January 25, 2018, 07:47:24 PM
As title says, my reported hashrate, the one I see on claymore, is about 755mh/s.
My calculated hashrate is about 10% higher, even on the 6 hours report.
How's that possible?
Btw, I'm dual mining, and It's the same on the second algo.
Isn't it weird?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 24x RX 580 8GB rig - Here are my results! on: January 15, 2018, 09:36:52 PM
Hey guys!
I just finally completed my first 12x gpu rig (finishing the second 12x one tomorrow), and I'd like to share my results to understand if they're good or if something can be improved.

The GPUs I used in the first rig were Sapphire Pulse 8GB with Hynix memory. I tryed different bios, made some myself aswell. At the end, that's what I got:

31,5 MH/s ETH and 475 SC (only eth 140W from wall, dual 150W from wall).
I'm using 1200 clock and 2250 memory, at 850v and 875v.
The temperature never gets over 62°.
I could run even 825v on memory on some GPUs, but 2-3 of them get instable, so I just set them all on 875v.
Out of the 12 GPUs, only 1 is giving memory errors (nothing but, about 5/minute), the other 11 gave 0 errors in 2 hours.

I'd also like to ask a thing, aren't those GPUs supposed to get about 100-130w on the voltage I applyed?

Comments and suggestions are welcome as allways!
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Sapphire Pulse 580 8gb how to mod bios and OC - 12x GPU rig on: January 12, 2018, 11:36:37 PM
Hi there. So, i've been reading some guides around and figured out something; still have some dubts.
What is the correct procedure to make it work the best way?
For what I learned, it should be (considering I'm starting the rig for the first time and that I've 12 cards with a H110 pro btc):
1)plug only 1 GPU to the 16x directly, install windows, no driver install.
2)make a backup with atiflashtool, restart the rig.
3)load a modded bios, restart the rig.
4)install latest blockchain computing drivers, restart the rig.
5)use afterburner or trixx to OC the GPU and to undervolt it.
6)add the cards 1by1, flashing, overclocking and undervolting them 1by1 (if they all have the same memory).

Anything wrong? Do I need to overclock and undervolt the cards with afterburner/trixx or the modded bios does it already?
And do I need to do the point 6. stuffs 1 gpu by 1?

Thank you so much!
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / PCI riser assembling info on: January 12, 2018, 12:07:52 PM
Hi there.
So, here is the pic

My riser arrived with this black gum glued on their bottom side.
I tryed to indicate them on the pic with the red arrows.
Do I have to remove those or are they made to stay there?
Because if I remove them, the bottom side with be touching my aluminium frame, and I don't think that's a good thing.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 12 GPU rig - psu/gpu dubts on: January 11, 2018, 08:46:21 PM
Hi there.
So, I got my 24x sapphire pulse 580 8GB and the rest of the hardware.
I'm going to make 2x rigs with 12 gpus on each, using H110 pro btc motherboard.
My concernings are about the GPU installing and PSU efficiency.
I have 2x Corsair HX1000 (1000W plat rated) for each rig, but I am afraid that the 2000W won't be enough. Somewhere I read the cards use 130/150W each, somewhere I read they use 80/100W each.
And which is the correct way to install the gpus the first time? Should I put just one in, install the OS, overclock and undervolt it, flash the modded bios and than do the same on the other cards 1 by 1?
Or I can make it faster?
Because if I'm not wrong, 2000W won't surely be enough for the 12 cards on stock settings.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Server PSU to run a vega rig (configuration troubles) on: December 22, 2017, 04:08:44 PM
hi there.
So, I'm going for a 6 vega rig. This means, if I'm correct, that I'll need 12x 6+2pin connectors for the cards, and 6x 6pin connectors for the risers.
Which is the better solution?
I was thinking about a 1200/1400W server PSU like that:
breakout board 12x 6pin connectors;
6x cables 6pin to 2x8 pin (for the GPUs);
6x cables 6pin for the risers.

Than I'll take a 300W or so ATX PSU for the mobo+cpu+fans.

Gonna work?
How does the server PSU work? I mean, once I start the rig or once I shutdown it, will it stop powering the GPUs or i need to connect it someway to the mobo/atx psu?

Thanks!
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / How to split the investment - 20k for a little mining farm on: December 22, 2017, 12:19:16 AM
Hi there. I'm going to invest 20k for some rigs, considering that ethereum may go to PoS next year, I was thinking about taking something like:
1 rig with 8x 1070 (mining zcash or whatever is profitable)
1 rig with 8x vega (mining cryptonight)
3 rigs with 8x 580 each (24 GPUs total, mining ethash or whatever will be profitable)

How is this setup? Does it make sense to split the hardware like that to chase different mining objectives? Or should i just go for 48x 580s, 24x vegas or 32x 1070s?

I'd like to receive some tips, thank you.

19  Economy / Economics / convince me about it all on: December 19, 2017, 12:20:31 PM
Hey guys, first of all I'll probably make some mistakes writing that, please forgive me Smiley

So, I am in crypto's world since 3 years now. And I still have some dubts. Probably, this is because while my knowledge about this increases, so do my criticism.
Let's go to the questions.
1)Bitcoin, and all the cryptocurrencies, were made to replace the fiat money. One of it's most important features, is that it doesn't require to trust someone to make a transaction, because it will be certainly confirmed via blockchain; all right. So, there is still a problem there. To buy/sell large quantities of cryptocurrency, we're using escrows. To make a succesfull ICO, we do aswell. While on the fiat money you've a third part (the central bank) which guarantees for the value, in crypto you need an escrow: you still need to trust someone, or someone to guarantee. Let's say in the future I want to trade ETH for BTC, the transaction can't be canceled, but.. who sends it first and takes the risk, without a third part supervising the transation?
2)Let's say I'm one of those who boutgh 100btc in 2014, and that I've got some milions now, and i want to exchange them for fiat currency. How do I do it? A bank, allows me to send even bilions with a transaction. I can buy a bilion dollars paying by euros; how do I buy a bilion of dollars paying with bitcoin? Yes, you can withdraw from exchanges, buy.. 500k/month or so? I can sell them in private.. whatever is the solution, nowadays is way MORE complicated than using fiat currency.
3)Governments and big banks. There we go. They r already working on that, everyone who's a bit informed, knows it. What if they just declare crypto illegal around the world? "it's decentralized! u fool! u can't stop the progress!" yeye, ok.. but even if you won't accept such a decision, you will still need someone who will recognize the value of your currency.. you really think that most ppl in the world won't follow what the government says? We all know that the majority, won't follow the revolution.
Another scenario is that banks start creating their own currencies based on the blockchain technology. You really think that people are going to prefer some of the existing currencies over the one that their banks says is the good one? They simply won't.

So, I'd like to receive some answers to these points; I want to make this a good discussion, without flame, and without "WTF I LOVE BTC U DUMB" stuffs. Let me know your pow ppl!
20  Local / Italiano (Italian) / AAA cercasi finanziatore e tecnico per progetto store fisico su Brescia/Bergamo on: December 07, 2017, 10:26:25 AM
Salve a tutti.
