Need a Weibo account registered in China. Feel free to PM me.
2  Economy / Digital goods / [WTB] Chinese phone number for Weibo verification on: March 26, 2021, 05:37:09 PM
The number must be able to be used for Weibo verification. Post here or PM me with a price.
3  Economy / Invites & Accounts / [WTB] account on: November 09, 2017, 07:15:50 AM
I am currently on the lookout for an Audible account. I have never seen anyone selling these in the forums so I am well aware that I might not be able to get them at a better price than what is offered by Audible themselves here in the forums, but if anyone knows of a way to get an account (a somewhat discounted one) other than the free trial then that would be great. I would also like to know if there are ways to get around the free trial so that it can be done more than once or possibly just make it work by switching payment methods (it seems that there might be something like this in the system).
4  Other / Politics & Society / What happens in the government if Bitcoin takes over? on: June 12, 2014, 07:42:28 AM
Most governments get their money from taxes. If these become impossible to collect, how will the government support itself? They would no longer have control over any currency. Would BTC taxes have to be enforced? Should an alternative be sought? How can a government survive without money?

I'd like to see people's opinions on anything related to this, as I feel that most forum members are better versed in such themes than I am, and I'm open to what everyone has to say.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What kind of cold storage do you use? on: June 01, 2014, 04:37:21 PM
So, I am kind of at a loss of what cold storage method to use. I've noticed each one has its own pros and cons. For example, a paper wallet requires no memorizing and works completely offline, but if somebody finds it or if you lose it, you're screwed. With brain wallets, if you forget it, you're screwed. USBs and SD cards are essentially the same as paper wallets except electronic. I would like to know what are some good cold storage methods people have come up with and why they work better than other alternatives.
6  Other / Off-topic / What is your favorite gaming platform? (current-gen) on: April 16, 2014, 05:24:35 AM
I personally go for PC, even though the Wii U does bring back good old memories. However, Steam sales and such always beat my wallet, which would end up being even worse than if I had either an Xbox One or a PS4. I would definitely buy a PS4 over an Xbox One if I were forced to, though. Share your opinions.

EDIT: If you vote for Xbox One, I really do want to hear your opinion.
7  Economy / Digital goods / [WTB] Humble Weekly Bundle on: March 26, 2014, 11:45:11 PM
Hey there. I want to buy the Humble Weekly Bundle, but they are not accepting BTC temporarily. I just want the $1 tier and am willing to pay 2mBTC for it, a bit more than it actually costs. There is less than a day left, so I would much prefer to not have to use escrow (it is also just $1). I'll pay first if you have a higher activity than me and no trust issues. Here is the link:

Make sure to check the box that says "Yes, please send me a gift code". You will then PM that code to me, simple as that. Also, make sure it is the weekly bundle, not the normal one. I don't want any books Tongue

EDIT: Done! Getting it locked.
8  Other / Meta / Getting rid of campaign spammers on: March 18, 2014, 10:57:27 AM
I was roaming around the forums and when I got to the meta section, I read this thread on reporting spammers. That brought me to think about a solution to the entire spam issue. Unfortunately, I am not sure the solution that I am thinking of can actually be implemented in the forum with ease, but I will post it here anyway and maybe you, people, can come up with alternatives.

I was thinking of having a separate "Report to a mod" button for spam. If a report is valid, the post is deleted and a counter of "spam posts" is increased either in their profile or under their name. As we all know, most of these spammers post senseless posts that do not contribute at all to the overall thread. By using this counter, the signature campaign owners can post rules or penalties for having spam posts removed, and it would also encourage the reporting of such. One alternative would be to just limit the signature's formatting capabilities either by both the current activity system and the spam post count or just the spam count by itself.

What do you guys think? Is it beneficial to do such a thing? Can you come up with any better alternatives? In my opinion, this would help get rid of campaign spammers very effectively without really affecting those campaigners who don't spam.

EDIT: Proofread; I had horrible typos.
9  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Getting the bitcoin address of a private key on: December 15, 2013, 05:18:04 PM
So, I'm playing around with bitcoin in JavaScript but I haven't found anywhere online how to calculate the bitcoin address of a Base 58 private key (starting with a 5). Can anyone tell me how or provide me a link with documentation? I'm not asking for a script, just conceptually how to do it.
10  Other / Off-topic / Password Managers on: September 08, 2013, 07:33:49 PM
Which one do you currently use or recommend, if any at all? Currently I am using Dashlane, but I've heard a lot about 1Password and LastPass. Dashlane, the one I'm trying out has an iPhone App, which is why I use it. If you want to try it, you can use my referral link so that we both get 6 months of free premium.

So, do you use any password manager, and why?
11  Other / Meta / "Someone replied while you were posting..." on: August 11, 2013, 04:46:23 AM
... Or something like this is ALWAYS appearing when I post. The only new post I see is always me, though. Usually I then ignore it and proceed to post it and then it comes up with a message saying I already posted it. Before trying again, I take a look at the thread and my post is indeed there. Is this happening to anyone else? It has been happening to me only since a couple of days ago.

Edit: Literally just when I posted this, the forum threw an error at me saying that my last post was less than 48 seconds ago. However, it was quite more than that and my thread DID get posted. What is going on?
