1  Other / Meta / Am I the only one concerned about the KYC requirement here? on: April 01, 2019, 04:11:47 AM
I just observed the prompt about providing KYC (Know Your Customer) information to continue using the Forum here. While I am pretty sure I provided some personal information, SSN and/or Credit Card info is way over the line for me in terms of this kind of Forum. I get it for a bank where large amounts of money changes hand, but this feels way to intrusive, or perhaps the whole point of the forum is changing and I just didn't realize it.

It's rare for me to start a thread, but I wanted some other thoughts.
2  Economy / Service Discussion / It appears that bitcoinwisdom is back.... on: September 03, 2018, 08:23:32 AM
For quite a while, prior to the last "halving", bitcoinwisdom was my go to website to get a good summary of the state of Bitcoin mining, difficulty, profitability and so forth. It seemed to "leave the rails" and I stopped visiting it.

Just in the last 10 days, I have visited it again, and it appears to be pretty well straightened out. The figure look to be be pretty accurate and quite useful again.

Am I missing some massive flaw in it's reporting? What the consensus amongst other folks on the current usefulness of bitcoinwisdom at this time? Any back story on it's apparent "return"?
3  Other / Meta / Are BCH discussions unwelcome here??? on: August 22, 2017, 09:26:23 PM
This isn't so much a technical question, but rather how the forum will treat the hard-fork of BTC into BCH.

Is BCH considered an Altcoin and hence unwelcome to be discussed, or is it so close to BTC that it's OK to include it? I am thinking this same question applies to all the sub-forums (e.g. Hardware, Speculation, Pools, etc).

I had no god idea on how to get some insight into this, and the various moderators might want to update their various "sticky" threads with some kind of guidance.
