Hey guys, I plan on selling some of my altcoins in the near future. Instead of converting it to fiat, I will rather convert it to BTC and stablecoins. I hear a lot of concerns regarding USDT, which is why I want to ask you guys what stablecoin you prefer to hold?
Thanks in advance.

Hey guys, I have been lurking for the past couple of years. I have discovered a pattern I would like to share. When there is a bull run on Bitcoin, the quality of the topics on bitcointalk takes a turn for the worse. Is there no moderation in terms of removing completely irrelevant or just plain stupid topics? If I remember corretcly the moderation was a bit stricter back in the days. I find myself wasting so much time digging through shitpiles of topics in search for a gem. “Then stop digging and find another home” you might say. Well, this is the OG, so I would rather not have to. 🥴

As this is the speculative section, it makes sense to post it here. I just realized that if the Remme ICO will go to public sale, which everything indicates it will not, you can purchase it with BTC, ETH, BNB and KCS. Is the latter two an indication that what I hope will happen will happen? Why else would it make sense to take payment in Binance Coin and KuCoin shares if you are not to use it for listing fees?

Hello.
I see a lot of people complaining about how the merit has stopped rank progression completely, and therefore ruining lives. But let me tell you a story.
Three weeks ago, when I had never heard of merits, I was what you call a Jr. Member. I spent all day switching between nitpicking and joggling my testicles between my fingers in order to sort out what was testicles, what was prick, and what was nit. I wasn't the brightest of all people, or at least that is what my wife told me.
However, a thing called merit got introduced. In the following two and a half weeks my intelligence and post quality enhanced exponentially, and the pace in which I received merits got out of hand. First I became a member. I got laid (by my wife). Then I got laid again (by my wife). Now the track "Started From The Bottom", by Drake, is running on repeat on my Spotify.
Point is.. this happened in two and a half weeks. Imagine where i'll be in half a year. You can be there too. (not with my wife tho)
Make the best of it.

ICO's are a wild west at this moment. In many cases they are being reduced to no more than a gas war benefitting those who can afford to buy big. What I would like to see more, is something we already see on a smaller scale. The presale is often limited to people who somehow can be of beneficial use to the project in other ways than pumping money in it. I would like to see people doing bounty work get the same privilege. Often bounties given for bounty work is not really worth the time. However, if the people helping promote the project had the chance to buy in early without having to invest 10-50.000 USD as an extra reward to the work done, I imagine it could greatly benefit the community who are most passionate about crypto currencies.
Example: The ArcBlock ICO has concluded some days ago. In many ways it was a nightmare, and still is, as the people who didn't get in before hardcap was reached, had their transfer stuck at ArcBlock for several weeks before a refund. A lot of these people were wearing ArcBlock signature campaigns on BCT. Although I wasn't one of them, I felt kind of gutted watching the people doing work for ArcBlock, not alone get rejected at crowdsale, but also have their funds frozen for a rather long time, just because they failed to push "buy" within the first ten seconds of open crowdsale.
For the sake of ICO's in general, I think this is a very valid point to implement in the future. Thoughts?

This is a shoutout to do your due diligence when selling your tokens/coins. Using the bigger exchanges have its upsides, but many downsides as well.
I joined SwissBorg ICO and wanted to flip my tokens yesterday. The official exchange that has SwissBorg listed as we speak is HitBTC. As I was to deposit my CHSB (SwissBorg tokens) the exchange gave me a notification that it would cost roughly 7 (!?!) percent of my CHSB holding to deposit it. That is just an outrageously high deposit fee. I saw that a lot of people are complaining about this on their own forum. The threads get shut down rather quick tho. So I decided to see where else I could flip them. On CMC i saw that CHSB was also being sold at LiveCoin, so I made an account there and sold my tokens with a good profit. Took no time for my Tokens to show up on their exchange, and took no time for the Ethereum to return to my wallet once sold. Fees were low aswell.
This is not meant to be a commercial for LiveCoin as much as a warning of not using HitBTC.

I know it's a bit quick to draw any conclusions. However, in the altcoin section where I reside the most, next to no merit is being given or recieved. Is it the same picture in other sections? And if so, how do we raise more awareness about it?

Many ICO’s are being sold out rather fast these times. It makes me wonder about something. Let’s say you can buy tokens at 10.00 am EST. But is the time of buy considered the time you execute an order or the time it gets accepted by the company? It can easily mean a difference of 2-3 minutes which is a lot in crypto space.

I am investing in some ICO's these days, and if they hit 2-3 times my investment, I just sell them and move on to the next ICO with an increased amount to invest. However, several interesting ICO's I have invested in, and would like to invest in, are getting listed in HitBTC. All threads about HitBTC on BCT and Reddit are terrible, and they cover all from lost coins to not being able to withdraw funds, and at the same time no response from the support team. There is no point in flipping the coins for me, if HitBTC won't let me withdraw my funds to reinvest.
Does anybody share my concerns, or are they ungrounded?

I was wondering about something.
You have a lot of exchanges that mainly deals in trading between Bitcoin and alts. People can deposit a lot of different alts, and on the exchange convert it to Bitcoin. However, as Bitcoin only have around 35% market dominance, and 10-20% of these either lost or locked away, what would happen if people were to convert their currencies to Bitcoin and withdraw them from the exchanges simultaneously? Or let's say that nobody withdrew the Bitcoins from the exchanges, would it not be an extremely volatile situation for both exchanges and Bitcoin in general that there were more Bitcoins in theoretical circulation than actual existence?
Thoughts?

Hello.
I have tried to balance my portfolio between high and low risk coins. It is around 50k USD. Bitcoin is around 30% of my portfolio, and no less than 1000$ is invested in any altcoin.
Bitcoin Monero Ethlend Monetha INS Ecosystem Tron Coss Titanium SwissBorg Spectrecoin DeepOnion Zero Binance Coinfirm AMLT
And hopefully Restart Energy, Blockpoint and WePower in the coming days. I think that there are a lot of low caps here with huge potential.
Your thoughts?

We have probably all heard the term, and the past days we have most certainly experienced it. The altcoins follow Bitcoin every time it spikes and dips. The biggest reason for this is "The Bitcoin Standard". Bitcoin is still by far the most valuable cryptocurrency, the favorite coin to pair with on exchanges etc. However, in the last couple of weeks it has been more and more clear that Bitcoin just might be overtaken as the most valuable currency. At first people expected that Ripple could have done it if Coinbase had pulled through with the listing, and in the past week Ethereum has bounced back, and are by many considered likely to outgrow Bitcoin percentage wise in 2018. Do you guys think this will make people lose confidence in Bitcoin as "King of Crypto", and make the other currencies less volatile when Bitcoin has big swings in value?
Personally I think it would do more good than bad if Bitcoin had less effect on the rest of the market.

Hey guys.
I am currently looking into different ICO's worth investing in. MedicalChain has caught my attention due to the high ICO scores and what I believe could be a good idea. What makes me wonder though, is their absence on BTC among others. They have a couple of threads going back a couple of months, but the hype is non-existent in these threads.
Anyone here has some thoughts regarding this ICO, both pro's and con's?

The last couple of days my portfolio has dwindled about 50k USD. However, I don't really feel sad as much as fascinated about the market. Should I see a shrink?

I was wondering about something. I think no-one has any doubts that governments at some point will try to strong-arm cryptocurrencies (cc) with regulations and bans. If we talk about the issue with lack of taxation on cc's, are privacy coins not likely to be targeted the hardest of all? I hold a variety of privacy coins, (monero, xspec, DO, Zero etc.) myself. But which value will they represent, if the only place I can use them is for shady business? (Let's face it, im no criminal ) I love my privacy, but there is no doubt that the long term plan for me is to convert my investments to fiat when I reach my pre-defined investment goal. Thoughts?

Honestly I think it is extremely sad to see how much FUD is going on right now due to cryptocurrencies going in bull mode. My question is, whether it is single individuals with different agendas spoofing around, or if it is larger and more established companies hiring people to spread it.
Thoughts?

I wanted to try the COSS exchange today, and transfered funds there. 5 hours later and lots of confirmations later, my balance is still 0. Therefore I just wrote a mail to the support department, and got this one back. "Dear xxx, We would like to acknowledge that we have received your request and a ticket has been created. A support representative will be reviewing your request and will send you a personal response. Due to the high volume of support tickets being received, the estimated response time will be between 7 to 10 days. To view the status of the ticket or add comments, please visit https://cosssupport.freshdesk.com/helpdesk/ticketsThank you for your patience. Sincerely, COSS Support Team" I mean, 7-10 days??
