1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Litecoin cash fork? what does everyone think? on: February 15, 2018, 09:53:48 PM
I read about how they want your private key from a wallet that is empty just to verify that you had coins at one point after the fork. Once that wallet is used it def can not be used again. They did not say you cant use that wallet again though so maybe they are hoping people will reuse the wallets dow the line and take the coins you deposit back into that wallet?

I'm on the fence and theres a couple of days to go before the fork they are paying out 10 litecoin cash to 1 ltc

thoughts?

3  Economy / Trading Discussion / So XRB won the vote on binance, how long till it will be trading? on: January 05, 2018, 03:58:03 PM

4  Economy / Trading Discussion / I need help tryng to figure out the conversion to USD for alt coins please help on: December 30, 2017, 10:18:34 PM
I've been having a brain block trying to figure this out. Surely someone has a method that can give an exact figure I just can not for the life of me figure out the method. The prices below are from BINANCE.

(bought ETH at gdax for  737.00 USD) transfered to Binance

         Price            Filled              Fee                         Total
Storj 0.0019622         100.00      0.10000000 STORJ   0.19622000 ETH

IOTA 0.00512136   44.00   0.04400000 IOTA   0.22533984 ETH

XRP 0.00154500   150.00   0.15000000 XRP   0.23175000 ETH

XVG 0.00020751   48.00   0.04800000 XVG   0.00996048 ETH

XVG 0.00020807   100.00   0.10000000 XVG   0.02080700 ETH

so what would be USD(FIAT) value of each of these coins? and how would i go about figuring it out?

I know there are converters out there. problem is that I need to know what exchange the converters are using to get an exact price otherwise I will not have factual information.

or am I looking at this all wrong???

6  Economy / Exchanges / On binance is there a difference if your a maker or taker as far as fees? on: December 27, 2017, 04:48:16 PM
to make it plain, if i buy at market value do i get charged the same trading fees as doing a buy/sell limit or stop limit order? on gdax there's no fee if you buy as a maker(buy/sell limit order or stop limit order). Just want to verify if binance is the same way or its a % regardless if your a maker or a taker?

9  Economy / Trading Discussion / 3-4 days of bearish flatline (for the most) prices... which way is it gonna go? on: December 25, 2017, 11:16:40 PM
Do you think there is still a correction coming? I've been watching btc bch eth and ltc and they are all pretty stagnant except eth seems to be picking up the lead in gains in these 3-4 days.

what if people over the holidays are talking about it and because it lower then it has been what if they all sell what if they all buy what do you think is going on in everyones heads?

I had caught LTC at $235 but i was day trading and got out lol. Im waiting for another dip but honestly all of them have barely made any kind of 10-20 dollar volitale dip like they were doing before they seem to have turn bearish? maybe because of the holidays?
10  Economy / Trading Discussion / I have to change phones due to very bad reception, how will this affect 2fa? on: December 23, 2017, 11:00:03 PM
I've been having issues with phone conversations cutting in and out and I dont get all my text messages ever since I got this new phone and I'm tired of it.

Unfortunately I have my 2fa on this phone and I'm posting this to make sure if i do get a new phone that I have the information I need to get the 2fa on the new phone with no issues.

I have my private QR codes for the exchanges and I am not changing my cell phone number..

also, does the google auth work over wifi or does it work through the cell sim card? I wont be throwing the phone out but it will be of no use as far as cell phone calls. would i be able to use the old phone for google auth through wifi?

I just want to verify if I rescan my qr codes for my exchanges that I can get into them once i do this.
11  Economy / Trading Discussion / How long does it take to make a buy and a sell? on: December 18, 2017, 10:04:51 AM
does it vary for different coins? I'm asking because if I want to day trade I want to make sure its doable. Someone told me it takes a long time to have a buy go through and a sell.

EDIT: Ive added this because it seems not everyone reads all the replies, I had posted two more posts to clarify. ill just throw it in here for now.

I should have clarified,

If I want to buy AT MARKET PRICE for example if LTC takes a dip and goes down to  $300 and I buy right when the dip starts to recover at $305 and it goes back to baseline of $350 and then SELL... in essence if I only bought one LTC I just made $45

$305LTC - $350LTC= $45USD

Thats why I asked about how long it takes to buy and sell LTC-BTC-ETH Usually the dips happen and they recover in a couple minutes. If I can't BUY at market price when it dips and then sell at market price when it recovers then my friend was right but I'm in the dark because i havent done it myself and IM RELYING ON ALL YOUR KNOWELDGE!! Which I appreciate immensely.. I love forums and have learned many different things for being part of a community and I know if I have info on something to share it as I did at the bottom of this post about coinbase USD transfers to gdax.

I am going to start with around $100-300usd and do some test buy/sells.. I've been studying the charts and I am pretty confident in my chart analysis.. I am a newbie with crypto but I have day traded (not much but i understand it) with my brother on the stock market.

I also learned through my own playing around on coinbase and GDAX that there is a work around to buy the price of crypto at market price instead of coinbases inflated price by using GDAX
1. transfers from coinbase of USD currency have no fees. therefore I can fund coinbase and transfer USD to GDAX instantaneously and get away from the inflated coinbase price. As far as what I read this seems possible but until my USD funds are in coinbase I will not know if it actually works if it does I will report back and make a thread about it so people can save money on their first purchase.

Im still not verified on poloniex and I studdied the graphs on there as well as the volume(pretty busy) I am verified on bittrexx BUT my issues with trading on bittrexx is there is no selling out of crypto into USD so i have to deal with an exchange fee to send to a different exchange that will let me sell from crypto to USD.  unless there is a exchange that has multiple coins(more then just btc-eth-ltc

I know poloniex has USDT but i cant transfer that out into my bank account??? im not sure if that is possible in poloniex? are there any that do allow bank transfers other then coinbase,GDAX(I wont dare use gemini)??

2nd RESPONSE:

just to respond to the remarks of me being a newbie. I buy and sell cars for a living and started literally with no money. you buy cars low and sell for more then your in it for. same thing with crypto exchanges and on the stock market exchange.

Except I need to learn about the exchange rates for transfering from exchanges to an exchange that I can cash out to USD. BTW the fees for day trading on the stock market or way higher then any of the fees on the crypto exchanges So i really dont see the big fuss about the fees. However, Im using microeconomics to do my best to keep my fees for trading coins and transferring to exchanges and out to USD to a minimum.

I need to figure out the fees for trading crypto coins say for example using LTC to buy XRP an then when I made the profit i want to XRP to LTC or whatever coin i want to trade it into. thats the part I definately need to figure out. starting out im probably gonna stick with the 3 big ones ltc-eth ad btc and watch for dips and sell on the recover.

the crypto exchanges are more lucrative because its barely regulated and I know it will be regulated in the future at some point because crypto is getting major talk right now, and I've watched  the whales doing their manipulation. Wink

I could have bought BTC at $16 a couple years ago so believe me I was pretty annoyed but it is what it is, Im not gonna cry over it.
12  Economy / Trading Discussion / Aha moment to figure out P&L when trading in crypto/alt coins & other questions. on: December 16, 2017, 01:45:13 AM
had an aha newbie moment that i had a hard time figuring out.....

so in essence, if I'm trading IE: buying and selling IOTA with BTC not only do i have to watch IOTA price I have to watch BTC price as well because if the bitcoin drops and im still in iota i essentially may gain on iota but lose overall because btc dropped and took all the profit i was trying to make from iota. If im wrong on this lease elaborate.

Is there any online software that can convert every  Altcoin to BTC/ETH/LTC to USD/EUR/GBP? I would assume even for the skilled trader if they spend too much time trying to recalculate(making mistakes and fixing them tick tick tick) the worth of the two crypto's to figure out what their Fiat currency is turning for a profit they could essentially miss their buy in or sell off mark..

Another question

How can I figure out the transfer fees associated from transferring BTC LTC ETH to another exchange like binance, bittrexx, poloniex etc...
I also read somehting about transfer fees being less in I think ETH? So if i buy crypto in coinbase HOW MUCHMORE beneficial is it to transfer to binance bittrexx or poloniex using a certain crypto from coinbase? in other words which of the 3 have the lowest transfer rate to another exchange...

ALso I read something about you cant  buy iota with LTC??? so for example if I transferred LTC from coinbase to binance I would have to then convert my LTC to either BTC or ETH, dont I incurr a fee for this? which is better to buy/sell iota with BTC or ETH? ive read either or but not sure...

I know im a newbie im just doing my best to get as much knowledge as I can before i start trading. my CB was verified and im waiting for my funds to start 6-7 more days UGH...
thanks for any info in advanced.

13  Economy / Trading Discussion / Trying to get handle on the conversion rate to figure out profit for crypto on: December 15, 2017, 09:37:40 AM
Lets say I buy into BTC at 17090   and sell at 17440 so the difference between is 350+.. BUT if I only have $300usd worth of BTC (0.01716581) when I did that trade how do i calculate the profit? im boggled because I only have a small percentage of one BTC Unless im wrong but I doubt i made $350 on that buy/sell lol I just need a kick to understand this.
14  Economy / Trading Discussion / Entering into the crypto market for US is pretty hard right now... on: December 15, 2017, 08:14:42 AM
Coinbase, Gdax,  poloniex, Gemini(yikes!) Have been a real head banger trying to get verified. I read some bad things about Gemini not sure I will use it because of what I read(I actually deleted my bank acct just to be safe. something about not communicating and money being lost from ach/bank wires even when the customers bank verified the wire was correct... just scary viewer comments not sure this has been fixed..??

So because of that I have been reading tons of info and vides along with the comments(lots of good info in comments) until i get verified, im not fomo'd out It is what it is and now im here to learn more.

I just want to make sure I have this right as far as jumping from exchange to exchange because a friend told me a some what  STRANGE way he moved BTC from coinbase to changelly to XRP bittrexx??? he got it done but seems like he paid an extra fee and transfer because of changelly?

I thought If you wanted to get to the bittrexx exchange the process would be like so:

fund coinbase with usd, buy BTC in coinbase,

copy the deposit link from binance BTC,

go to BTC coinbase Send(withdraw) and paste the BTC bittrexx deposit link.

buy XRP with BTC  on bittrexx Is this right?
