During the last weeks we were hearing bad rumours, news and horror stories about Mt. Gox withdrawal delays.
In the other hand we see a price higher in Mt Gox than any other exchange, in fact the exchange rate of Mt. Gox is not a reference for Bitcoin price at all.
Most of us think that Mt Gox is facing a severe liquidity problem.
But is taking weeks and when a financial institution has liquidity issues it collapse fast, is not a long process, lest say you have u$s 100.000 at Mt Gox and you think they just don't have the cash... the instinct move is to move out of there as fast as you can, if you loose 20% is better than loosing 100%, so everybody will move from Fiat to BTC their BTC price will skyrocket several times in a couple of hours.
I believe that a liquidity problem is the most probable scenario but some situations does not describe the events I will expect from the evolution of a liquidity crisis.
Lets think bad for 5 minutes what if... there is not liquidity issue and Mt Gox intentionally delay the wires, what if the feed the rumours to force this artificial overprice in his exchange? They can send the cash to Bitstamp buy Bitcoins at $800 and sell them for $930 at his exchange, at least a 10% profit in dollars.
Again I am not saying they are doing that trick but it might be?

Hi, Few days ago I ordered 2 Monarch cards from BFL. When I ordered they say delivery is estimated in October/November. Now I see the first batch is sold out ( http://www.butterflylabs.com/monarch/) But the delivery dates they publish for the sold out dates are... "November/December" Looks like they got another month delay just few days after they start taking orders... If they finish the "tape out" few few days ago and at that time they estimate 60-90 days what can change now to get an estimation of 90-120 days. With 60-90 days was a risky bet to buy... with 120 is a suicide. I know may I have been an idiot buying from them. Regards |

Hello,
I just need some advice, many miners in this forum uses the ASICMINER USBs, considering the cost +/- 0.34 BTC per unit plus the USB hub etc. Still profitable? Will be a bit more than 1 BTC per 1 Gigahash.
In one side I see has immediate delivery in the other side per bigger hardware with unclear delivery date will have a lower cost Gh/s is for me really hard to determine once the thousands big ASIC units are delivered how much they can produce, may be finally is better to buy now what is available and get some coins now instead of waiting until everybody has more capacity and the estimated production per Gigahash drop.
Also saw many many people using the USBs but not sure if they are hobbyist or pros.
Feedback is welcomed.
