This week Lavabit and Silentcircle announced that they were developing a new mail protocol which could be implemented real easy in the near future. The idea behind it is that all mail traffic will be encrypted from user 2 user and will be decrypted at the users device. No special button needs to be pushed and no special PGP lessons needs to be learned.
We mailed John Callas and asked him what we needed to do to become a beta tester of their protocol. Well, not much
we only needed to pledge the $1000 at Kickstarter (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ladar/lavabits-dark-mail-initiative) to get technical support on implementing the system into our own system. And they are happy to help.Although we have a Premium service (which no one uses, because the real good deal is already in the free service) we do not have the money right now to pledge that kickstarter project (we backed it with 25USD though). And that is why we want to ask your help.
As stated before, we are always looking for the best for our users. And Dark Mail is the protocol we would like to use, so we can securely say that our service is one of the most trusted service available when it comes available. So, perhaps there are peeps here who want to support our action with some sort of donation. In stead we can offer everyone who pledged with us a lifetime Premium service.
