1  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Using Core keys on iOS as well on: March 17, 2019, 07:30:20 AM
Hi,

It’s been a while. Hopefully everyone’s doing great.

I have a Bitcoin Core wallet I intend to continue using. But I would now like to use those same keys on an iOS device as well.

Which iOS wallet would you recommend? I understand that from a security viewpoint, BRD, Edge or Greenaddress would be preferable. Do any of those provide a workable way of importing my keys from Core? Not just sweep them - my objective is to use both wallets concurrently with the same set of keys. And are there any potential issues I should be wary of?
2  Other / Meta / Trying to wrap my head around how Bitcointalk got here on: January 29, 2018, 09:21:01 AM
Hey,

I’ve been wondering about a couple of things Meta. Probably due to the sheer number of posts, I was unable to find out much by searching. But I did run into Satoshi’s post history in the process Smiley https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3;sa=showPosts Of course, it only dates back to the creation of this ‘new’ forum, but anyway. And Satoshi’s link to the old one throws an error.

First, a chicken-or-egg question about the user levels on this forum. Was there a multi-level user rank system in place to begin with, and did people at some point begin to game it with low quality posts to advance quicker? Or were the levels introduced to curb spamming? And do you think this forum would be viable in the absence of levels (other than those necessary for admin purposes)?

Second, what’s the deal with the ICO/ANN/altcoin content? I’ve recently seen posts complaining that various Bitcointalk rules make it difficult for people to make money in that ‘industry’. Is there significant support in the Bitcointalk ‘management’ (which, I guess, pretty much means theymos) for all that altcoin related ‘get rich quick’ stuff, or are admins just reluctantly trying to confine it to its own boards because it can’t be stopped anymore?
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / How to ‘accelerate’ your transactions through Antpool on: January 07, 2018, 08:25:17 AM
Antpool is a mining pool that also runs a free prioritisation service. The service requires a user account. Not all prioritisation requests are successful, but some are, so it might be worth trying. Here’s how:

  • Have a working email address and phone number.
  • Browse to https://www.antpool.com/user/prioritiseTransaction.htm. This is the prioritisation page, so you may want to bookmark it. Since you probably don’t have an account yet, click ‘Sign up’, and go through the account creation process.
  • When you have created your account, browse to the prioritisation page and sign in. Change the language if you want. You should see a page with two text areas. The upper one is for transaction IDs. Paste yours there, one per row. Ignore the lower text field. Solve the captcha and click ‘Submit’. You should now see your transactions in a list at the bottom of the page.

You can follow blocks mined by Antpool at https://blockchain.info/blocks/AntPool.

If you’re unable to create an account on Antpool, please post your transaction ID below, and I or someone else may be able to enter your request for you. I would also love to hear your experiences with the Antpool prioritisation service: what kind of transactions end up being successfully mined? I have used the service only a few times so far.

Edit: There's a comprehensive guide on 'stuck' transactions at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1802212.
