1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Anyone have the "how to pump doge" written many years ago? on: February 23, 2022, 02:44:53 PM
I think it was 2014, some well known whale at the time pumped doge and laid out exactly what his strategy was. I can't seem to find that document now anyone know where it is.

3  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Are broken PCI-E pins repairable? on: January 02, 2013, 04:07:31 AM
The 1x portion of my PCI-E card on my 5970 broke off. I was wondering if I could use a PCI-E extender, and solder it onto alternate points in the card. Does anybody know if this has been done and where they are?

Heres an example picture showing what part broke off, this isn't a picture of my card:

I have no clue what the password is.

6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What will happen to all the unclaimed MyBitcoin bitcoins? on: August 09, 2011, 07:37:07 PM
Does Tom keep them, does he distribute them out?
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Converting Paypal into Liberty Reserve on: July 21, 2011, 05:36:17 AM
Found this site and it only asks for a 3% commission. Has anyone used them before? I don't want to get corn-holed. http://www.exchange-currency.org/
8  Economy / Goods / [Buying] Goyurt plans for a bitcoin? on: July 08, 2011, 02:20:02 AM
http://www.treehugger.com/goyurt.jpg

http://goyurt.com/

I love the idea and the guy who designed it, but I can't afford to pay $2900 for a kit. I'd rather buy the wood and get it cut at a hardware store, drill holes and buy hardware and make it myself. I just need it to be as light and compact as that one.

I know it's a long shot, but does anybody have the dimensions for all of this?

9  Bitcoin / Mining support / Sound no longer working after 1 month of mining. on: July 02, 2011, 07:36:29 PM
I'm not looking for a solution, just wondering if steady heat is to blame for my sound no longer working. Windows can tell that speakers are plugged in and the device appears to be runing fine, but I get no sound no matter what I do. Including resetting bios and running live linux distros. Pretty sure I burnt out my motherboards onboard sound. It was working find before I turned it into a dedicated rig. Temps werent even that high. Is this common?
10  Bitcoin / Mining support / Why do I get an out of range error when I use DVI but VGA is fine? on: July 02, 2011, 06:45:17 AM
HD 5970 with dual DVI and 1 mini dvi port. If I use a cheap DVI to VGA converter then I can get all ranges shown. If I take off the adaptor and just go straight through DVI then I can't see anything other than an "Out of range" red box in the center of a black screen.

I've tried multiple operating systems, drivers, nothing seems to work. Has anybody ever seen anything like this before? My monitor accepts both DVI and VGA, it's a 22 inch westing house L2610NW.
11  Bitcoin / Mining support / I think my 5970 should be working harder than it is. on: June 28, 2011, 05:11:37 AM
How any Mhashes are you guys pulling per GPU on this card? I get around 360 when I know I should be getting more like 400. I don't water cool though, instead I have a fan keeping it around mid 70s.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / This is what reddit thinks of bitcoin on: June 26, 2011, 07:59:16 AM
At the time of posting this 3 upvotes, 7 downvotes. Plus every comment in the post has been downvoted. Telling me that the smarter people are going to downvote my whole thread and everyones comments so they can post and upvote themselves using fake accounts. Can't say I'm surprised this got messy. Can't say I'm not amused either. So basically I'm giving away 1 bitcoin to the biggest scumbag. Whatever, lesson learned. It was worth it. I honestly had more respect for people. Egg on my face.

Either way I figured you guys would get a kick out of it. Notice the disgust and rage. People don't like bitcoin. I know posting this here will greatly fuck with my experiment. But for some reason I want to. Maybe I'm hoping you guys will flock to it in masses and upvote it, but that's stupid. However if that's how it happens then I'd rather one of you get it. And not some dipshit as a collective joke.

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Attn: People who buy stuff with bitcoins on: June 26, 2011, 01:18:18 AM
Stop being cheap. A 15 dollar bitcoin isn't worth 20, 30 or 100 dollars yet. That is all.
14  Economy / Goods / 5970 for 40 bitcoins on: June 25, 2011, 03:06:18 PM
If anybody is interested in buying a 5970 for 40 coins (firm) I'd be down to let it go. I mined on it 24/7 for about a month and two weeks. Still has well over a year warranty on it. Exact same make and model as this one here. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180682982965&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Will take a picture confirming I have the card if anybody is interested.
15  Bitcoin / Mining support / Buy coins or a card? on: June 24, 2011, 05:21:11 AM
Hey guys, I hate bugging you with things I could research myself, but I'm lazy and I think this might help others. Someone is selling a 5950 for 160 locally on craigslist.

I want to buy the card, mine, then sell the card once I decide to quit. The thing is, I'm a gambler and think bitcoins might hit $100 in the next few years here.

What wold you do?

Edit: Electricity is cheap here .04 - .025 a kwh. I won't start mining until the 1,200,000 difficulty rate hits.
16  Bitcoin / Mining / Can someone guess how many bitcoins I might mine in 30 days with a 5970? on: June 23, 2011, 03:29:24 AM
I get around 770 mhashs. My gut tells me 18 - 20.
17  Bitcoin / Pools / Someone changed my BTCguild wallet address. on: June 22, 2011, 12:45:56 AM
Thank god for their optional 24 hour lock that I set up. My username is on the MTGox password list, but my password wasn't the same. Has anyone else noticed suspicious activity?
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin and the future of war. on: June 20, 2011, 04:31:18 AM
Dumb question for you guys:

Let's say bitcoin gets accepted by a small, poor country. Then a neighboring country follows along. How improbable would it be that one country would cash out, destabilizing bitcoin and fucking the other country over (instead of buying weapons and bombs)? Or would the massive sell off result in mutual assured self destruction? Is it no different than the US selling off all it's gold instead of buying bombs? What happens if many poor countries adapt bitcoin, and one rich fucker (as they always do) tries to reallocate wealth, and does a massive sell off, then rebuy, or pump and dump? Is it possible that bitcoin is actually a weapon alternative? It's not like the CIA is shy about destabilizing poor countries.

Disclaimer: I do a lot of drugs and this is probably spam, but I'd appreciate the civil discourse.
19  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Any interest in Beer Homebrew equipment? on: June 14, 2011, 06:27:43 AM
This was one of my many unfinished projects. If anybody here is interested I could take pictures of everything I have tomorrow. Items include:

4 5.5 gallon corny kegs
3 15.5 gallon converted keggles with holes and hardware. They need to be welded though, I bought the screw on stuff and I wouldn't trust it.
1 counterflow wort chiller (very nice)
1 20lb CO2 tank(needs to be totally emptied before shipping)
1 Regulator
2 soda guns
2 chiller plates
Other misc. hardware for lines, caps for the corny kegs.

I'd like to get 24 bitcoins + shipping for it all, and if someone is interested let me know and I'll get everything up. I live in West Texas incase that has an impact.
20  Economy / Trading Discussion / Tips on musicians making bitcoin? on: June 13, 2011, 02:17:25 AM
I've been a fan of my friend's music for years. Now that I'm excited about this bitcoin thing I naturally suggested that he make a donations link accepting bitcoins. His music is free, but it's been a month and he hasn't gotten anything. I posted it up on reddit and the bitcoin wiki. We're both entertaining the idea that maybe he's just a talentless hack.

In case he isn't, what would you recommended he try and do?
