1  Economy / Economics / Brace yourselves, CBDCs one Step Closer on: January 17, 2023, 02:04:10 PM
Coindesk revealed the Bank of America has been researching CBDCs and it seems that they are closer than ever. The report considers CBDCs to have a lot of potential and was a natural evolution of money.

According to Alkesh Shah, "CBDCs do not change the definition of money, but will likely change how and when value is transferred over the next 15 years." He thus added that central bank digital currencies have “the potential to revolutionize global financial systems and may be the most significant technological advancement in the history of money.”

Central Banks are already exploring the whole notion of developing CBDC systems so this may come sooner than one might think. What do you guys say? Ten years ago, I said that it would take 10 years for governments start adopting CBDCs. Now that 10 years have passed, some countries have already adopted it but it is still not mainstream. How long do you guys think it will take for CBDCs to become the norm?
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Would you bet is chess matches? on: January 05, 2023, 03:01:35 PM
Chess tournaments as well as checkers may be a good sports field for the betting industry. I know I would bet in a chess match as I already did that against a friend. We have gathered a group pf players in my neighbourhood. Thrn we started with a betting game where we could bet on the winner ot we could bet on first player going for a check. Ithe experiment worked out fine. So, if there was a site where you could bet on checkers or chess would you go for it?
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / December 31 Soccer predictions on: December 31, 2022, 11:20:00 AM
December 31 Soccer predictions

So, I would like to leave the last predictions of 2022!

England - Premier League

Brighton - Arsenal

Arsenal is the top dog for this game, however, Brighton plays with the massive support of their fans and has shown quality football. Thus, a well-disputed match is expected, where goal opportunities will appear. In front of such a scenario, I believe the most likely scenario for this match will be for both teams to score at least one goal.

Both Teams Score

Wolverhampton - Man Utd

I see Manchester United as a favourite for this match, however, the home team should also have its say. It should be noted that the market "Both teams score" was a winner in the last five Manchester United away games. In this way, a very busy game is expected with several goals opportunities for both teams

Both Teams Score

Bournemouth - Crystal Palace

It is true that Bournemouth can be more confident about playing at home, however, in this round they receive an opponent that provides amazing good football. In addition, both teams have several defensive issues. Having said that, risking in favour of the ''Above 2,5 Goals'' market in this game is a good option.

Above 2,5 goals

Man City - Everton

In addition to Manchester being motivated after the latest results obtained, it still receives a team that has shown serious flaws in the defensive process. Everton conceded a total of nine goals in the last three matches played, and, on the other hand, Manchester City has shown its offensive potential, scoring six goals in the last two games. In this way, I expect to see the occurrence of a few goals.

Above 2.5 Goals

Newcastle - Leeds

The most likely scenario for this match will be for both teams to score at least one goal. It is true that a game more controlled by the home team is expected, however, Leeds also plays good football, with a lot of offensive quality. It should be noted that the market "Both Teams Score" was a winner in Leeds' last five games, counting for the championship and in three of the last four matches between the two teams.

Both Team Score

The wheel is turning, so let's hope to see good results!

Let me hear your predictions!
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / What are the motives that drive you to gamble? on: December 28, 2022, 07:30:37 PM
I do not know about you guys, but I gamble because I like it and because it is a hobby as well as an addiction. I'm good with myself, as I already admitted to having an addiction but tried to find and apply techniques to avoid getting off track and spending all of my money on gambling. It's quite easy for me to control my gambling anxiety as I already follow strict rules that help me stay on the line.

What about you guys? Do you have any addiction to gambling? What drives you to gamble? Is it the long shot of having a big profit coming in or is gambling simply a way of spending time for you?
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Responsible gambling on: December 28, 2022, 05:43:37 PM
I consider myself a gambling addict. However, unlike gambling addicts, I'm aware of my addiction and I know how to control it. What I love most is playing poker and also sports betting. The latter is the one that screws me the most. Even though, I can get some real good profits,
sometimes I get wild and end up losing all of my money.

To avoid, running after the loss, I have set up the responsible gambling in my account and it helps me a lot to control the bad beats against my will to recharge my account and ending up losing it all again.

For me this has been working for quite some time and it was a way I found to prevent me from throwing money that I need away.

Any of you guys uses the responsible gambling feature? If so, what do you think about it? Is it helpful or does it only gives you a sense of control
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / BOXING DAY PREDICTIONS on: December 25, 2022, 01:46:01 PM
BOXING DAY PREDICTIONS - DECEMBER, 26, 2022

Hey guys, in the aftermath of Christmas eve, the famous Boxing day is coming, so here are some tips!

Middlesbrough - Wigan

The home team is extremely motivated after winning four of the six games played in the league. In this match, they should try to add three more points. It is worth mentioning that Wigan Athletic is going through a rough phase, especially when playing away. That said, it will not be surprising to see Middlesbrough ending up winning.

Middlesbrough to WIN

Rotherham - Stoke

I expect to see a balanced match, however, the two teams have shown great football, with a very offensive strategy in place. This way I expect to see the two teams scoring.

Both Teams Score

Sunderland - Blackburn

Sunderland is playing with the comfort of their fans' support, however, Blackburn Rovers has achieved very interesting results. It is worth mentioning that Blackburn won the last two games against Sunderland. This way, it's expectable that the visiting club will be able to demonstrate its quality and end up winning at least a draw. That said, I will risk a value bet on this one.

Draw at Halftime

Brentford - Tottenham

Tottenham should be hard to crack, however, Brentford can take advantage of its fans' support to conquer another good result in this condition. This way, an open match is foreseen, with several goal opportunities, on both sides.

Both Teams Score

Let me know your predictions!

7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Where to bet in e-sports? on: December 22, 2022, 08:49:03 AM
I have never tried betting in e-sports. I know that a lot of you guys do a lot of betting in e-sports and would like to hear your opinion on that. Is it worth it? And what are the best places for that?
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The Bitcoin transaction that came from the future... on: December 18, 2022, 06:27:00 PM
A few years ago, let's say, probably more than one year ago, there was an ominous transaction occurring in the Bitcoin Blockchain that generated a lot of discussion and controversy. Apparently, the transaction hash was too unexpected or quite impossible to have been generated randomly and there would be a chance that it could be generated by someone who had enough computational to do so. This generated a lot of theories, one of them being that the transaction could have been generated somewhere in the future by Satoshi himself. Or even by Hal Finney who in the future would have been brought back from its cryogenic state and healed from his illness and capable of sending this transaction back to the past as a message.

I know there was a thread about this matter, but I cannot seem to find it…
Does anyone know or remember this?
9  Bitcoin / Legal / More Regulation Incoming! on: December 17, 2022, 10:38:14 AM
Events like MTGOX and FTX are only damaging the Cryptocurrency Industry. Unfortunately,  this sort of event is nothing new to the industry as every day we see crypto businesses going bankrupt and new scams coming in.
The recent FTX event motivated the US United States Financial Stability Oversight Council or FSOC is now recommending legislators study new regulations for cryptos.

So, we will see new regulations coming in through the following months. Usually, regulation comes at a price and is more damaging than the other way around. I just hope that it isn't regulation that could stifle innovation and slow down the industry to a freezing point.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / US is targeting Binance on: December 13, 2022, 10:12:14 AM
After the FTX clampdown, the US Justice Department is going after Binance. According to Reuters, Binance is being hit hard and is now under investigation due to money laundering allegations. Amidst the news, customers are starting to withdraw their funds.
IMO this is all a plot to drive customers away from Binance and led them to Coinbase...

What do you guys think about this?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / PayPal hand to hand with Cryptos on: December 08, 2022, 07:08:00 PM
Great news for the crypto community!

It looks like PayPal has unapologetically joined the crypto world! The Industry leader announced it was opening crypto services in the coming days through its Luxemburg branch.
PayPal users in the country will be able to buy and sell cryptos through their EU- Based PayPal accounts.

"The introduction of this service offers Luxembourgish customers a new way to explore cryptocurrency in the PayPal environment they know and trust and provides customers access to educational content to help answer commonly asked questions and better understand the opportunities and risks associated with cryptocurrencies. Once available, eligible customers will be able to buy, sell and hold Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash in their PayPal accounts via the website or the mobile app. PayPal’s cryptocurrency services were first launched in the U.S. in 2020 and expanded to the U.K. in 2021."
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What will be the next crypto craze? on: November 29, 2022, 08:10:18 PM
Cryptos have had many crazes all over the years. First, it was Bitcoin appearance.
right after that, there were the altcoins and soon after the ICOs, IPOs and all the O's thingy craze. Afterwards the PoS and stacking craze came to play and then smart contracts came around then the DAO Blow. Then the Cexes, the Dexes and right after that, we saw NFTs rise along with the metaverse. (I'm probably missing something). Now we just had the Merge.
Many of these phases have helped the crypto market achieve new highs and led the blockchain technology to go mainstream.
A lot of developments have been a part of the industry growth, so my question here is, what do you guys think will be the next craze in the industry?
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Poker strategies on: November 27, 2022, 01:08:21 PM
I love to play a Poker Tournament now and then. It is actually my favourite game at a casino. So, here's the oldest trick for online poker gambling players.

I consider myself an average player, as I've never charged my account and have earned a few bucks from it. Typically, I look for tournaments with many players with buy in's up to $3. The downside of this is that these sorts of Tournaments are very time-consuming. Thing is, the main trick of making money out of Poker is to be very patient, pragmatic, logical and emotionless. If you follow the main trick, you will be able to step into the following trick which is "know die foe" given that you need time to study an opponent, tournaments make perfect to improve techniques and work out the patience, pragmatic, logical and emotionless side of playing.

I have some simple strategies I follow to try to stay on the money. But first, lemme tell you how I started playing poker without ever making any deposit. I first started to look for reviewed and popular poker rooms offering first-sign promotions, allowing you to start playing without having to charge your account. You can check that out here.

Once you log into a room and get a promotion, you will have two options to follow: either go for multi-table tournaments with up to 2k players OR go for the Sit & Go's with 9-player tables and $1 buy-ins. If you are comfortable with your skills, you should get some earnings in the long run and take some cash out. With the profit, you can check for new promotions and step into new Poker rooms and keep earnings coming.

Of course, that to get the earnings you will have to find a way of always staying "on the money" and make sure that your earnings are always bigger than your losses. To do that, you will have to follow a playing style and follow some simple in-game rules to keep up and finally get to the point where you will have your ROI. But since secrecy is the soul of business, I won't tell you what these simple rules are, but if you guys give a small contribution from your own experiences, I'll also reveal mine and then we can work out some sort of tutorial or something like that. What do U guys say?

15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Qatar world cup Final Predictions on: November 25, 2022, 02:55:22 PM
I thought we should start a thread where we could speculate about who would be the teams meeting in this year's Soccer world Cup final.

I was innitially predicting to see England vs Germany at the final, but the wway Germany demonstrated to have their team, it doesn't seem to me that they will get too far.

From what I have seen from the first matches, I believe there is a strong chance of seeing a Spain vs England match at the final of the world cup.

So, what are your predictions???

Keep them coming!
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Will Ethereum keep its leadership in the crypto smart contract industry? on: November 24, 2022, 07:29:19 PM
The Ethereum blockchain is currently the most used blockchain when it comes to Smart contract, NFT and Metaverse development. It achieved its leadership while it was still a decentralized network.

Unfortunately, right after the merge, Ethereum lost its decentralized feature and is now one of the most centralized cryptocurrency projects in the industry.

Given that we're going through a debate opposing Centralized vs Decentralized, do you think that Ethereum will still keep ahead of the competition? Aren't there a lot of chances of Ethereum being overcome by an alternative decentralized network?

What is your take on this matter?
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Will the Government use the Blockchain as a tool for control? on: November 23, 2022, 09:06:27 PM
10 years ago, blockchain was just the technology behind Bitcoin, a currency used by the Drug lords in illegal markets on the Dark Web.
Today, the blockchain is seen as one of the technological wonders of our time. The way blockchain technology has been seen by society has been growing along the years. From the slums of the dark web to the hypothetical implementation of CBDCs, blockchain technology has been highly regarded as a technology that can be used by the government to help them with financial policies and a lot more.

In a few years, we will probably see the entry of CBDCs as state digital currencies supported by the blockchain technology, but this will not be something good. Rather than that, they will use it as a tool for control and monetary policy, so I do not think that what they want to do with it will benefit society. Much to the contrary, they already know what the potential of this technology actually is, and they will use it for something nefarious.

How do you see governments making use of the blockchain technology in a few years?
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How many of you believe in Litecoin? on: November 23, 2022, 08:23:04 PM
Litecoin has always been one of my favourite cryptos. It was the first crypto after Bitcoin, and it was the third crypto I mined first.

Nowadays, I do not mine cryptos any more, but I'm still hoarding Litecoin as I believe I will still make 10x or plus more than what I have invested. After Bitcoin, for me, it is the best.

So, how many of you still believe in Litecoin and think we will still see it go past the $500 mark again?
19  Economy / Trading Discussion / Accumulation phase is out!? on: November 20, 2022, 06:23:27 PM
We have entered the second year of a Bear Market. The market moment we're in has found its support at the peak of 2017's Bull market.

There are those who think that it can still go lower, but the majority agree we have reached a bottom as the selling pressure is losing momentum.

Theoretically, if Bitcoin is able to hold the support at the peak of 2017's bull run, we may see a reverse in the bearish momentum and the start of a new accumulation phase.

I say this phase has already begun. So, what do you guys have to say?

20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Are you a gambling addict? on: November 19, 2022, 10:59:13 PM
Everyone likes to go to a casino here and then. But unfortunately, there are those who cannot visit a casino simply for pure leisure. Gambling can turn from a hobby or a leisure activity into a serious addiction problem. Many compare the rush of gambling to the euphory of cocaine, as it can also become an addition.

Online gambling brought casinos closer than ever before, and the problem of addiction in the world of gambling is a serious social illness. There are a few signs to look for when starting to gamble online to avoid problems of addiction. So, do you know if you have a problem with gambling? Here's an interesting article about this subject.
