What is PEG?

The worlds first platform to issue tokens and create smart contract cross-chain without the need for coding skills.

This gives companies or start-ups that would like to attract investments via Initial Coin Offerings or looking to fund new projects with blockchain technology. Other PegToken services will include a service to automate the process of deployment and collection of distributed tokens to investors.

The Platform will allow PEG tokens to create ICO's, Tokens, Smart contracts, POS/POW coin's or Cross-Chain funding streams.

PEG Tokens are the key to using the PegToken platform, they will be used to manage the contract creation, security testing, network fees, monitoring, and management of the entire smart contract process.
PEG is a transferable ERC-20 compliant digital token deployed on the Ethereum network & is also a Counterparty compliant tokens,  and is the in-app currency that powers the PegToken platform.

The PEG token serves as a method of validating the interactions with PegToken and will allow users to buy, execute, or barter for other smart contracts in the platform. In the future, PEG will serve as access for smart contracts on multiple blockchains, integrating these disparate blockchains into one unified view within the PegToken platform.  The total supply will be 21 million PEG tokens split between ERC-20 and Counterparty tokens  and will never be increased beyond this cap.

5  Other / Off-topic / Banks & Blockchain Tech - The Future? on: December 24, 2017, 01:52:58 PM
One of the most talked-about topics in the financial services industry today is blockchain. If fully adopted, it will enable banks to process payments more quickly and more accurately while reducing transaction processing costs and the requirement for exceptions.

However, to capitalize on this potential, banks need to build the infrastructure required to create and operate a true global network using solutions based on this transformative technology.

A survey found that blockchain use is, indeed, top of mind among banking executives who lead payments businesses. Perhaps most critically, the survey revealed what executives believe must happen for blockchain to gain prominence globally.

Banks are definitely interested in blockchain. However, most banks we surveyed are still in the early stages of adoption, with about three-quarters either involved in a proof-of-concept, formulating their blockchain strategy, or just beginning to look into it.

Regardless of progress, the most prevalent use cases banks are studying involve intra-bank cross-border transfers. Cross-border remittances, corporate payments, and inter-bank cross-border transfers are receiving comparatively less attention. But wherever they hope to deploy blockchain, executives expect a wide range of benefits, including lower costs, quicker settlement, fewer errors and exceptions, and new revenue opportunities.

A global network is critical to helping banks use blockchain to help transform payments at scale and help reduce risk of failure. The most effective network should have two defining characteristics:

    1. It should include the necessary defined rights, obligations, controls, and standards.

    2. It should offer a quick and efficient onboarding process that enables banks to essentially “plug and play” into the network for both existing and future corridors.

Importantly, many executives also noted that the network should not be an exclusive club. “The network should be open to banks and non banks to create a level playing field,” said one executive at a global bank.

Much work remains to define the rules of engagement and help create the basics of the network before banks can move past a discussion of the technology itself and begin exploring how to actually use it to improve their business.

Regardless of who's creating and driving the network, banks roundly agree that blockchain needs a robust network for success.

Blockchain and distributed ledgers have a bright future. As real-time, open-source and trusted platforms that securely transmit data and value, they can help banks not only reduce the cost of processing payments, but also create new products and services that can generate important new revenue streams.

The biggest key to turning blockchain’s potential into reality is a collaborative effort among banks to create the network necessary to support global payments. Banks need to look at the bigger picture and work together—and with non-banks—to help define the backbone that can underpin a universally accepted, ubiquitous global payment system that can transform how banks execute transactions.

In the words of one executive  “The technology will only work if everyone adopts it. It has to be all or nothing.”

6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / NiceHash CTO - BlackHat Hacker - Fishy? on: December 23, 2017, 11:10:31 PM
So everyone knows about the "issues" surrounding nicehash.

After some digging it turns out that Matjaž Škorjanc the CTO of nicehash is a former botnet creator / botmaster  / hacker for hire..
he has previously been arrested in the world wide sting operation that saw the cybercrime forum Darkode shutdown.

Matjaž Škorjanc created the botnet Mariposa or "butterfly" botnet he was sentenced to 4 years 10 months in jail for his crimes. ( He did not do all the sentence )

The Mariposa botnet infected over 1 million computers possibly more which made it one of the most successful crime toolkits available.

NiceHash CTO Matjaž Škorjanc, as pictured on the front page of a recent edition of the Slovenian daily Delo.si

Bitcoin’s blockchain ledger system makes it easy to see when funds are moved, and NiceHash customers who lost money in the theft have been keeping a close eye on the Bitcoin payment address that received the stolen funds ever since. On Dec. 13, someone in control of that account began transferring the stolen bitcoins to other accounts, according to this transaction record.

The NiceHash theft occurred as the price of Bitcoin was skyrocketing to new highs. On January 1, 2017, a single Bitcoin was worth approximately $976. By December 6, the day of the NiceHash hack, the price had ballooned to $11,831 per Bitcoin.

Today, a single Bitcoin can be sold for more than $17,700, meaning whoever is responsible for the NiceHash hack has seen their loot increase in value by roughly $27 million in the nine days since the theft.

In a post on its homepage, NiceHash said it was in the final stages of re-launching the surrogate mining service.

“Your bitcoins were stolen and we are working with international law enforcement agencies to identify the attackers and recover the stolen funds. We understand it may take some time and we are working on a solution for all users that were affected.

“If you have any information about the attack, please email us at [email protected]. We are giving BTC rewards for the best information received. You can also join our community page about the attack on reddit.“

However, many followers of NiceHash’s Twitter account said they would not be returning to the service unless and until their stolen Bitcoins were returned.

So now the seedy underbelly of nicehash is out in the open who is going to support them now?

My guess is that Škorjanc coded a backdoor into the system or shared the source with some of his "criminal" contacts of the past. or his past has come back to haunt him possibly someone he grassed up when he got caught selling malware? who knows..
