41  Economy / Digital goods / WTB working php-MPOS front end for eloipool for bitcoin or guide on: July 04, 2014, 08:36:11 PM
I've got an eloipool setup and running for bitcoin using stratum and var diff.  This is on ubuntu 13.10.  I'd like a setup guide for installing and implementing MPOS as the front end.  There are several guides out there for scrypt, but I can't seem to get one to work for btc and eloipool.

Currently share logging is going into share.log rather than mysql. So we'll need to adjust the in eliopoool for that also.
42  Bitcoin / Mining support / Help with MPOS and eliopool setup for bitcoin on: July 04, 2014, 08:18:38 PM
Anyone have a working MPOS for eliopool they can post?  I'm going to play around this weekend and see if I can get a front-end going on my eloipool.  If not, I'll scrap it and try the MPOS setup.  The problem I have with MPOS is most of the guides just show it for a scrypt coin. Is there a guide out there for sha256 (bitcoin)?

44  Bitcoin / Mining support / Eloipool--Down to just 1 problem----SOLVED! on: June 29, 2014, 11:29:11 PM
After the pool was up for a bit, I quit getting the Merkle errors, so have no idea about those unless they are related to the dynamic targeting that I still have a problem with.  This has been the kind of output I've been getting the last couple of hours.  I'm hoping it's correct:

2014-06-29 15:25:30,865 merkleMaker     INFO    New block: 000000000000000027350e62ddc96e536347111bfb590968ba96ffa9caaba3e2 (height: 308525; bits: 18415fd1)

So here's the last major problem that I know of. lol.

When I change the DynamicTargeting to anything but 0, I only get diff1 shares.  At zero I just get the diff16 shares.  Anyone have a suggestion of what I'm missing?
### Settings relating to server scaling/load

# Share hashes must be below this to be valid shares
# If dynamic targetting is enabled, this is a minimum
ShareTarget = 0x000000000fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

# Automatically adjust targets per username
# 0 = disabled
# 1 = arbitrary targets
# 2 = power of two difficulties (zero bit counts)
DynamicTargetting = 0
DynamicTargetServerAddresses = ('::ffff:', 3334),
# How many shares per minute to try to achieve on average
DynamicTargetGoal = 6

# Number of seconds hashrate is measured over
DynamicTargetWindow = 120

Thanks to everyone's guides and of course wizkid/Luke-jr for the software.

45  Economy / Economics / What can you buy that's legal with only bitcoins? Mining Hardware Excluded! on: June 25, 2014, 08:35:24 PM
This has probably been discussed thousands of times, but I finally sat down and mapped out some typical transactions and I can't come up with a reason to use bitcoin as a currency.  Sure you can buy stuff with bitcoin, but you can buy it with dollars also.  Most of the posts I see for people wanting to buy bitcoin is for investing/speculation or to buy mining hardware.

The coinbase & bitpays just convert btc to $ and back.  What will be the driving force for people to need bitcoins?  We will always take the path of least resistance, and fiat is still least resistant.
46  Economy / Scam Accusations / Head's up to other Ebayers on: June 22, 2014, 09:30:57 PM
ebay member ginsengxtract is not to be trusted.  Sold S1 to him and he filed complaint about dust Smiley  Sent back pieces to AM blades.  At least I got a chuckle out of the attempt.  Just wanted fellow sellers to be aware.

48  Bitcoin / Hardware / Dragon 1T = Wife not happy! (Fan Noise) on: June 12, 2014, 06:02:12 PM
Is there a quieter 120mm fan that can be swapped out and provide as much airflow?
49  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Eloipool and dynamic diff targeting on: June 08, 2014, 12:24:33 AM
I've searched on the forums and saw a couple posts of people having issues with only getting diff 1 shares.  I was just able to get my pool running and noticed that's all I can get also.

In my I've got

ShareTarget = 0x000000000ff.........
DynamicTargetGoal = 6
DynamicTargetWindow = 120

Am I missing another setting somewhere?

56  Bitcoin / Hardware / Help with a Dead S1 on: May 06, 2014, 02:02:22 PM
I've got a week old S1 that has decided it doesn't want to turn on.  I've tried various psu.  They all kick off as soon as power is thrown.  I'm guessing there's a short?  Has anyone seen this issue and is there a resolution short of sending it back?

57  Economy / Goods / 2008 Mustang Shelby GT Convertible -- 1 of only 192 LOW Mileage <2,300. on: April 30, 2014, 05:14:56 PM
Just for fun, I thought I'd post a link here to my baby Shelby GT.  I'd take BTC equivalent for it.

Only 192 automatic convertibles were made of the baby shelby. 2008 was the first and last year of the baby shelby vert.  At today's exchange rates, it's only about 85 coins. Smiley

Only available for pickup.  Columbia, MO.

58  Economy / Computer hardware / WTS ANTMINER S1 & S2 Coupons <?> on: April 29, 2014, 01:04:05 AM
AntMiner S2 Coupon 400 USD   57   0   2014-04-28 00:00:00~2014-05-30 00:00:00
AntMiner S1 Coupon 0.05 BTC   48   9   2014-04-27 00:00:00~2014-05-29 00:00:00

UPDATE:  Just received 57 S2 Coupons!! Let me know if it can help you out!

I just received 48 of the .05btc coupons on my Bitmain account for future purchases of the AntMiner S1.  I doubt there's anyway I will be purchasing that many this coming month before they expire.  I'll be glad to help folks out with about 20 of them.  Although I know no good deed goes unpunished. Smiley

Here's kind of what I was thinking...if there's a better way, just let me know:

You PM me with the quantity and shipping info, I load the info in my cart on Bitmain.  I make sure you and I have agreed to some time frame we are both online and I send you a screen shot of the checkout with where you need to send the payment.

This may not be worth the $20 you would save or the headaches on both our ends, but I don't do a whole lot for the community so if this helps some people it's a good thing.

59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Bitcoin Core with -server option gives error on: April 25, 2014, 02:59:19 AM
So I was playing around with Bitcoin Core and can't seem to get it to recognize the rpcpassword.  Maybe a fresh set of eyes can see the problem.

Here's the bitcoin.conf file in the appdata/roaming/bitcoin

When I run bitcoin core with the -server, it tells me I need an rpcpassword set and gives the nice example.  I've tried the bitcoin-cli, bitcoind and all give the same response.  Any ideas? Version

60  Economy / Service Discussion / Coinabul Results -- Neutral outcome! on: December 19, 2013, 12:51:45 AM
I'm not sure if this is the right spot to post this, but I've read some discouraging posts about Coinabul right after placing an order with them around the 3rd of December.  Sad

Today (December 18, 2013), I received my 1oz gold bar from them.  It was shipped FedEx on Monday.  So at least that is a major positive.

On the negative side, they issued a FedEx tracking number about 10 days ago.  All of my email inquiries went unanswered.  And by Sunday night, I filed a consumer protection claim with the WY Attorney General.

I won't do any further business with them and would not recommend anyone to use them, at least until their business practices improve.

After reading others' problems with them, I feel very lucky that my product arrived.  But since I have received what I ordered, I can say they were not a scam in my instance.

I don't know if this will help anyone, but I thought the community should know that on at least one recent occasion, Coinabul fulfilled an order.
