I represent an art gallery based in Pisa, Tuscany and we're proud to offer one of the less known late-reinassance paintings by Pontormo one of the pioneers of Florentine mannerism.
Jacopo Carucci "Pontormo" - The Visitation (1528)
It's his second most famous painting after the masterpiece "Portrait of a Halberdier" currently displayed at the Getty Museum.
There are three "Visitation" paintings in existence.
Two are in private collections and one (recently restored) is displayed in a church near Florence.
The owner of this one is an heir of a wealthy Italian family based in Rome. He expressed interested on conducting a cryptocurrency sale.
