1  Economy / Economics / Crypto”currencies” - capital asset or currency? on: February 09, 2018, 12:02:00 AM
I’m not well versed in the legal aspects of how governments decide what a cryptocurrency is and how they can profit from it, but recently I had a 32 minute conversation with my bank to remove the cash advance fee from my credit card for purchasing on coinbase. The IRS is taxing crypto holders capital gains tax because they deem cryptocurrencies to be a capital asset. Yet, my bank is charging crypto purchases as a cash advance (like pulling cash from your credit card at an ATM). So my question is, how can cryptocurrencies be treated as a capital asset AND a currency? Shouldn’t they only be able to screw us over for one way or the other, not both? If anyone can shed light on this, I’d be grateful. BTW, I eventually got them to remove the charge, this time...
2  Other / Off-topic / Twitch users, earn Refereum with me. on: January 29, 2018, 12:32:28 AM
Refereum tokens are a cryptocurrency for gamers.  The following is as close to "mining" Refereum as you'll get for now.  First, start by creating an account at Refereum and linking your twitch account.  Then you earn points by watching and streaming through twitch and those points can earn you Refereum tokens.  I THINK you get 60 points for using my referral link https://refereum.com/?refid=t9slgh13sm and then 100 more points for linking your twitch account.  You get double points for watching/streaming Fortnite.  I have set up a 24/7 stream of Fortnite for Refereum farming.  Create your Refereum account and leave your twitch account on my stream at https://www.twitch.tv/spcwilkins and we'll both earn points constantly.  The more points you earn in a season, the higher the token pot you'll be eligible for.  Don't forget to add your Ethereum address to your Refereum account page to receive your rewards.  So please, come and earn Refereum with me!

4  Other / Beginners & Help / How can I stop receiving replies to posts? on: January 21, 2018, 12:28:44 AM
I have tried searching for the answer, but could not find it.  When I reply to a thread and click "show new replies to your posts" in the top left corner, I see a list of topics that have had replies since my last post. How do I get this to stop for certain threads? In my notifications section, I have all the boxes unchecked and have no topic or board notifications active, yet I still get all topics showing up when replies are posted.  None of the threads are being watched either.  What else could it be?
5  Economy / Exchanges / Cryptopia sell order not being filled on: January 07, 2018, 11:39:38 PM
Hey all.  I am trying to sell Paccoin on Cryptopia, but the sell order doesn't seem to be getting filled even though I can see the order book running out of all available orders for that price range.  In the following screen shots, the first one you can see that I have an order to sell my Paccoin at 2 satoshis and that the sell order book has 31576142 Paccoin for sale at 2 satoshis.  I put my order in previously and saw it show up on the sell book.  The numbers went up and down, but more so down over time.  In the second screenshot, you'll see all the sell orders for 2 satoshis are gone, yet none of my order was filled.  Does anyone know why?

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Nvidia miners with 0% fees? on: January 07, 2018, 03:05:15 AM
I've found mining pools with 0% fee requirements, but does anyone know of an Nvidia miner with 0% fees?  The one I'm using, I believe it's called EWBF, has a 2% fee, which is outrageous.  Thanks in advance.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Mercatox to RaiWallet transfer not received on: January 01, 2018, 06:31:19 PM
I bought some Raiblocks on Mercatox last night and then withdrew them to my RaiWallet.  The Mercatox website showed the status as pending, then switched to paid, yet it has been over 12 hours and I have not received anything in my RaiWallet.  Also, I checked my RaiWallet address on the Raiblocks.net website and it says there have been no transactions.  Has anyone had this issue?  Is it just a delay in the transfer from Mercatox or has something possibly gone wrong?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Price prediction for Bitcoin Private on: December 30, 2017, 03:35:33 AM
There's usually a lot of speculation of price when it comes to a Bitcoin fork, but this one is unique in that it will incorporate Bitcoin and Zclassic as the holders that will receive the new Bitcoin Private.  It has me completely at a loss for price predictions.  Bitcoin Gold and Cash both started out around $500.  I would love to see Bitcoin Private come out around there as well as I will be receiving some.  I'm hoping that since it's meant to be a privacy coin, given the crazy hype around privacy lately, that the price will be $600+.  Anyone out there have any price predictions?  And if you have any reasoning behind those predictions, I'd love to hear it.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Will Zclassic mining continue to be profitable? on: December 30, 2017, 01:29:54 AM
I use whattomine.com to determine what's the best currency to mine.  I started mining Zclassic last night because it shot up to #1 in profitability, doubling profits from what I was mining.  Will it attract so many new miners that it won't be profitable anymore?
