1  Bitcoin / Mining support / ASIC USB Troubleshooting on: January 10, 2014, 04:11:02 PM
Hello,

Ive had a few of the first generation USB ASIC's running for a while now and everything has been going great until last night.  I went and checked the room where everything is located and noticed the green LED's were mostly illuminated.  Checking the machine I saw that a few of my USB blocks were "OFF" according to CGminer 3.1.1.  No trouble I figure, ill just quit and relaunch.

However, when I attempted to relaunch the batch file, CGminer will no longer launch, it just crashes instantly as though there is something wrong with the configuration file.  Which is puzzling because this has never been an issue up until last night.

Below is a copy/paste of my .bat file, if anyone can help troubleshoot this with me, I would be very greatful.

Version:
CGminer- 3.1.1

cgminer-nogpu.exe -o stratum+tcp://us1.ghash.io:3333 -u shadizzle.1 -p 12345 –icarus-options 115200:1:1 –icarus-timing 3.0=100 -S //./COM3 -S //./COM5 -S //./COM6 -S //./COM7 -S //./COM8 -S //./COM18 -S //./COM26 -S //./COM27 -S //./COM28 -S //./29 -S //./30 -S //./COM31

EDIT: TO ADD-  I pulled a couple of the USB sticks and attempted to launch off of my laptop one at a time to make sure I just dont have a faulty stick. Adjusted the batch file to have the same outcome.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Trouble getting my CPU to mine LTC on: November 02, 2013, 01:08:37 PM
Hello,

I have a couple machines that I am mining on, and am using the CPU on all but the one.  Everytime I attempt to launch my CPU miner scrypt it launches and crashes/quits right away.  On every other machine ive tried, the launcher works fine and mines first time I hit launch.  The only common denominator I can come up with is the one machine I cannot get working is my only AMD powered machine, the others being intel.

Can someone please clue me in as to what I am missing?  My scrypt and other info is below, thank you.

Build:
CPU: AMD FX-6100 Black edition Socket AM3
Mobo: 990FXa-UD5
Mem: 4GB ddr-1600
hdd: 750gb
PSU: AX1200
GPU: 2x 6870

Cpu Miner layout:

minerd -a scrypt -o stratum+tcp://lite.coin-pool.com:3333 -u MyName.1 -p XXXXX -t 4

5  Other / Beginners & Help / CEX.IO Has anyone used it? on: October 09, 2013, 05:10:42 PM
I found CEX.IO on coinad.com,

Has anyone used their service before? Are they legit? I think its kinda nice you can buy/trade GHs, help add on to your overall hashing power.

Being that they are over 200th/s, would I expect a lower payout per block vs. if I went with a pool that is in the 90-100THs range?  I am sure that is a dumb question, I am still figuring out how the whole thing works.
