1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Layer2 Same bitcoin but with added high perfomance functionality on: March 31, 2017, 01:09:34 PM
Do you realize you can get 100% perfect exchange rate risk protection between BTC-USD?  Tether is USDT and it lets you sit on dollars while bitcoin prices sink.  Jump right back into Bitcoin when the bottom comes.  These trade perfectly and smoothly.  Check on Poloniex and now on Kraken too.

It's all built directly into the bitcoin blockchain.  It is advanced function on the 2nd layer.  (Provided by Omni).  Think it is not so important?  Did you realize Tether just made another $10 million deposit this week?  That is $55 million in total.  Last 24 hours, Tether volume is $34 million.

This is a great example how you can build very useful function right on top of the bitcoin blockchain.  Omni is awesome.  What can you build as a Bitcoin 2nd Layer?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Big Blocks or SegWit? Ehtereim on: March 01, 2017, 04:51:29 PM
How does Ethereim handle the scaling problem?  It looks like they will be soon having an insane transaction volume with all the members of the consortium joining and building apps.  Why does the Ethereim scaling strategy work there buy not on Bitcoin?
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / More than 50% of SegWit support comes from one miner on: February 07, 2017, 09:05:12 PM
Bitfury.

Somehow this does feel like 'decentralized' to me.
4  Economy / Exchanges / Use Kraken, do not use Coinbase. Coinbase is horrible. on: February 06, 2017, 10:00:55 PM
Coinbase is a nightmare.  They sent stupid messages saying limits are increased while the account if frozen waiting for ID.  Can't upload ID because the interface is busted.  Can't contact help, because no help is available.  You send email, they ignore.  Coinbase is horrible customer service.  Do not use Coinbase.  Use Kraken. https://www.kraken.com/

Coinbase needs to quickly go out of business so they can stop bothering people.  Idiots.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / SegWit / BU? Either/Or? on: January 22, 2017, 05:31:49 PM

"When you come to a fork in the blockchain, take it!"
 -Yogi Berra

There is no reason at all why we have to choose either SegWit or 8MB.  These are simply not mutually exclusive.  Each provides certain benefit valued by different schools of thought, but neither harms the other.

Clearly from the present state of things, it is a tie at best.  nodecounter

With our current thinking (95%), neither of these will be adopted.  This is just fucking stupid.  Nothing prevents us from adopting BOTH.

I think we should accept SegWit AND 8MB on the same day.  This way, everyone gets what they want.  Blockstream's Lightning will be enabled, and the blockchain will have good transaction capacity for the next few years until LN gets up to full speed.  Everyone wins.

Why not?
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Giving up on Bitcoin... on: December 12, 2016, 03:36:20 PM
I am not the only one, lots of people have already given up.  Very fucking stupid mismanagement is the result.  At least TCP-IP and Linux had some means to make sensible adjustments in the early days.

Circle Gives Up Bitcoin

Bitcoin has no means to fix things that need a fixin'.  "Consensus" is just a very stupid concept.  95% consensus will never be reached for any issue.  Bitcoin is fucked.  Doesn't scale.  Everyone already left.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / SegWit must be stopped! on: November 28, 2016, 10:05:12 PM
We must put an end to SegWit.  SegWit is an altcoin.  Protect Bitcoin by stopping SegWit.
8  Other / Meta / Low quality topics on: October 25, 2016, 01:54:31 PM
They are nearly all low quality topics!  So many morons around here talking about nothing.

For example this stupid one:
"How Many Millions of People Use Bitcoin"
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / SegWit and LN are really interesting altcoins... but that is not Bitcoin. on: October 14, 2016, 07:58:42 PM
Why does Core call everything an 'alt' but their wildly variant version of Bitcoin gets entitled to be 'the Bitcoin'?

Don't be fooled: SegWit is the alt.  Lightning is the alt.  These radical changes are being forced into the network because Blockstream has been able to convince a few Chinese miners (not decentralized) to follow their stupidly dangerous plan.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Factom - crowdsales are bullshit on: October 06, 2016, 12:21:25 PM
See, here is the problem with crowdsales.  Who will own the profits of Factom?  Draper just invested $4.2 million. Will the people who bought the 'tokens' get the profits or will Draper?  Of course, Draper.  What will the token holders get?  'Access' to the network.  But all users will have 'access'.  Originally, Factom token buyers believed others would have to buy factoids (tokens) from them at a high price to use the Factom network.  But surely Draper isn't going to let that money on the table fall off the edge into other people's pockets.  So, what will the token holders actually get?  Nothing.

Draper owns the profits from Factom and any imaginable scheme whatever won't distribute those profits to 'token holders'.

Total bait and switch.  This is why the SEC won't allow 'crowdsales' with cryptocurrencies.  There is no enforceable obligation for an admin to fairly distribute profits to the token holders.  If this were a typical equity deal and the admin and 'preferred investor' tried to run off with all the profits, there could be a shareholder lawsuit.  With crypto, the 'shares' or 'tokens' don't represent a share of profits.  There is really no obligation whatever for the underlying company to do anything for the token holder.

Don't believe you are investing in a company when you buy 'tokens' in a crowdsale.  You are really buying false hope.  Factom proved it perfectly.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / We need a strategy! on: August 29, 2016, 04:24:46 PM
We've got to get together and think of some clever strategy to get this thing back from Blockstream!!!  I can't believe they took over complete control of Bitcoin and now everyone is walking away.  Stupid Chinese miners are a pussies!

Now, how are we going to get it back?  What is our plan to pry this away from Blockstream?
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Sending Euro on the bitcoin blockchain. EURt will replace Transferwise on: August 16, 2016, 11:16:44 PM
Finally - send Euro on the bitcoin blockchain.  Transferwise is a multibillion startup to do the same thing you can now do for free!

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Euro coming to Tether - Fuck yeah. on: August 16, 2016, 10:58:00 PM
If you can't understand why  Euro Tether is a big fucking deal, then you haven't done the math.  This will replace Transferwise
 - a multibillion dollar startup.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / One More Hour til HALVING!!! on: July 09, 2016, 03:04:14 PM
Just one more hour!!!!
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / This guy is trying to Perianne the airlines!!!! on: July 06, 2016, 04:39:09 PM

Another 'blockchain expert' completely talking out of his ass.

Just like Perianne, this guy https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/blockchains-air-disruption-take-off-every-airport-bruno-macedo-%E3%83%84?trk=hp-feed-article-title-like talks, and talks, and talks about blockchain saying all the cool things to say about it, and still saying nothing at all!!!  It kills me that people think if they say enough buzz words about a topic everyone will just somehow think they are a genius.

He never once says how airlines could use blockchains.  lol.  This guy is a world class douchbag.  He should join the Digital Chamber of Commerce.

This guy is trying to Perianne the airlines!!!!

17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin < - > USD on: June 30, 2016, 01:46:40 PM
When you fear the price is going down, you've got to sit in USD so USDT is a good option.  But why did Tether USD just issue $3,000,000 more units?
http://coinmarketcap.com/assets/tether/
Market cap went from $.5 M to $6.0M pretty fast.

This USD crypto is getting that popular?  What other uses besides a bitcoin hedge are being done with this system?
18  Economy / Economics / FUCK! UK is dead again. This time for sure. on: June 24, 2016, 06:53:07 AM
FUCK!  UK is dead again.  This time for sure.

Wow!  That was a surprise.  UK is fucked.  But they will recover.  Europe is totally fucked and they will NOT recover.  Parasite EU nations lose big time.  UK now gets to stop paying for all those immigrants Merkle decided to adopt.  Germany on the other hand now has to pay for those families for the next 40 years.  10 years from now, UK will be singing like a lark because they got their system reorganized.  Germany will be drowning in welfare and terrorism murders.

I can't say I am surprised that UK has told EU bureaucracy to go fuck right off.  Germany, the only other healthy economy is left holding the bag of shit.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Chinese bank crises grows - good for bitcoin on: June 22, 2016, 04:53:31 AM
The banking crises is getting pretty serious now.  This could be the last straw.

20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / So cool - on: May 30, 2016, 06:54:26 AM
How long is it going to remain cool - that when talking to the press one says: "we think blockchain is great, we don't like bitcoin"?  It seems like every interview involves someone saying how remarkable blockchain is but that they aren't at all interested in bitcoin.
Quote
"If you look at our view regarding the blockchain, we want to clearly separate bitcoin from the blockchain. There’s bitcoin as a method of payment, and blockchain as the technology behind it. The latter we find interesting to explore," she said.

OK - for the last 18 months this was the cool thing to say.  But for how much longer will people try to impress others by denouncing bitcoin while telling of their excitement for 'the blockchain'.?  WTF?
