The 24h trading volume on BTCChina is eerily high on the first day of the Chinese new year. Is it a good sign for Bitcoin in the year of the Horse? Any insights into this issue?

After the Bitcoin fever fell away in China, BTC-E has replaced BTCChina as the busiest trading exchange with a daily trading volume of nearly 100,000 BTC for the last couple of days.

As of today, the instant buy option 10 BTC/week for level 2 verified customers who also added a Visa credit card to their accounts is no longer showing up on their accounts. This move could mean the end for instant buy of whatever BTC amount for whatever level verification on Coinbase.

A few hours later the account was opened up again. Still no email/message from Twitter. I carefully reviewed their policies and terms of use and I feel like I did nothing wrong. I haven't followed anyone yet and my very first tweets were normal in every way they could consider. Very difficult to understand!

Over just 5 hours Litecoin value has increased by 30% from 4.1 USD/LTC to nearly 5.4 USD/LTC as of now. To see what 30% increase means, we can take a look at the increasing rate of BTC, over the same period of time, Bitcoin value just increased by 17%.

How do you set a Bitcoin price?  How do you know if the price is fair?  Could you set some type of gold standard, but without the hassle of holding gold?

In my recollection, money has taken the form of commodities at various points in history.  Such as a barrel of whiskey or tobacco during Colonial Times.  Commodities would be good, because they don't change, or don't change much.

You really want prices to be stable.  How do you know that you receive value if prices aren't stable?

Let's say you can buy one black Jonnie for 1 Bitcoin. Then, you may be in business.
