Sometimes I think about the higher force

When bitcoins was 1k I was thinking damn, why haven't I worked harder to acquire more bitcoins, now I'd have a lot of money

and now bitcoin is back on 500$, do you guys get the feeling that sometimes something happens with a reason?

that the universe has given you another chance to become successful?

So I live in the oldest town in Europe, Vinkovci

and there is this monument that isn't really maintained, it's from around 1897 or so I think

It's in the center of the city, next to the walking zone, Saturdays are filled with people in the park where the logo is located, it will get lots of exposure
Near the bus stop, near the gymnasium (visible at the right on the google maps picture below), right in front of the Great Church and between a couple of coffee shops

This is the initial monument

Since it's full of jibber-jabber, I decided to make a bitcoin logo
It isn't really visible in the dark, looks a lot better during the day

The monument can be viewed from a distance on google maps

Saturdays get really crowded up there, there is a festival called Vinkovci autumn where around 500 000 people visit the town, when it happens all of them will see the logo in the center of the city Cheesy

What was the last time you played a game like that?

I thought they don't make games like that anymore but I loved playing Woody Woodpecker racing when I was a child Cheesy

And then I run into this

Pay attention on the inscription on the car lol

The trailer isn't the best but as I watch gameplay videos, seems awesome

Never seen something like this in modern gaming, what do you guys think? Smiley

8  Other / Off-topic / Bir Tawil nation on: April 14, 2014, 05:12:18 PM
So I'v seen a few threads about building a bitcoin island

But the only territory that is unclaimed except for Antartica territories is Bir Tawil

It's basically sand, nothing else

BUT

High temperatures, plenty of sunny time means paradise for the crypto community

Why?

Setting up solar panels with maximum usage (so much sunny hours Cheesy) and generating free electricity to build massive space for mining

Possibility of creating a cex.io like website and selling mining GH/s etc. to acquire money for this project

What do you guys think?

2060 km2, a lot more then a 10sq km2 island to build or a 0.2 sq km2 island to purchase Smiley

As I read it's one of the most beneficial fruit for your heart, it improves the strenght of your arteries, your circulation and has plenty of vitamin E.

Have you ever tried it, do you like it, did you notice some benefits from it?

20  Other / Off-topic / Bitcoin quotes on: April 02, 2014, 08:18:37 PM
I just got some Cheesy

“Bitcoin is a technological tour de force.”
Bill Gates

“I’m a big fan of Bitcoin … Regulation of money supply needs to be depoliticized.”
Al Gore

“I think the internet is going to be one of the major forces for reducing the role of government. The one thing that’s missing but that will soon be developed, is a reliable e-cash.”
Milton Friedman, Nobel winner for economics

“Every informed person needs to know about Bitcoin because it might be one of the world’s most important developments.”
Leon Louw, Nobel nominee

“The Bitcoin actually has the balance and incentives right and that is why it is starting to take off.”
Julian Assange

“Cryptology represents the future of privacy by implication also represents the future of money, and the future of banking and finance.”

“You can’t stop things like Bitcoin. [...]. It’s like trying to stop gunpowder.”

“The next step in human evolution would be a race that could put their trust in each other, not in their rulers or politicians.”

“Gold is a great way to preserve wealth, but it is hard to move around. You do need some kind of alternative and Bitcoin fits the bill. I’m not surprised to see that happening.”

“What can’t kill Bitcoin, makes it stronger.”

“This may be the purest form of democracy the world has ever known, and for one I am thrilled to be here to watch it unfold.”

“We have elected to put our money and faith in a mathematical framework that is free of politics and human error.”

“There are 3 eras of currency: commodity based, politically based, and now, math based.”

“If we remember, 15 years ago if you were doing anything on the Internet you were going to make millions. I think it could be the same with Bitcoin.”

“Bitcoin will do to banks what email did to the postal industry.”

“With e-currency based on cryptographic proof, without the need to trust a third party middleman, money can be secure and transactions effortless.”

“Bitcoin is the beginning of something great: a currency without a government, something necessary and imperative.”

“The governments of the world have spent hundreds and hundreds of trillions of dollars bailing out a decaying, dickensian, outmoded system called banking, when the solution to the future of finance is peer-to-peer. It’s going to be alternative currencies like bitcoin and it’s not actually going to be a banking system as we had before 2008."

“Gold is a great way to preserve wealth but it is hard to move around. You do need some kind of alternative and it fits the bill. I’m not surprised to see that happening.”

“Bitcoin is getting there but it’s not there yet. When it gets there, expect governments to panic and society to be reshaped into something where governments cannot rely on taxing income nor wealth for running their operations.”

“While the freedom Bitcoin promises is an illusion, it’s one that will always have a grip on the human mind – the dream of finding some kind of talisman, a benevolent tyrant or a magical new technology, that can shelter us from power and crime and protect us from each other.”

“Instant transactions, no waiting for checks to clear, no chargebacks (merchants will like this), no account freezes (look out Paypal), no international wire transfer fee, no fees of any kind, no minimum balance, no maximum balance, worldwide access, always open, no waiting for business hours to make transactions, no waiting for an account to be approved before transacting, open an account in a few seconds, as easy as email, no bank account needed, extremely poor people can use it, extremely wealthy people can use it, no printing press, no hyper-inflation, no debt limit votes, no bank bailouts, completely voluntary. This sounds like the best payment system in the world!”
