I'm c urious as to how others are handling the mov ement of crypto from w  allet to c a sh. Let's AVOID posting direct sources and simply hint at what you're doing to prepare for the ((eye are ess)) shitstorm.

I've got w a r m places in mind, but not your c o n ventional cup of tea Smiley
2  Economy / Economics / Bitcoin & pre-2016 crypto on: January 29, 2018, 01:12:03 PM
The fact you had to mine to earn coins and that became the basis for pseudo-anonymous transaction and the ultimate propagation of cryptocurrency, was the true innovation Bitcoin brought. Now, with ICOs, buzzwords, pump-and-dumps, and a new exchange every Tuesday, I feel like that sentiment has been washed.

The economic model of Bitcoin - to create artificial scarcity over time in addition to short-term supply control - was an incredible thought at the time. How do we move back to this model without the cancer of speculation?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Creating a Crypto / Forking Git & Building on: January 01, 2018, 07:38:43 PM
I was wondering if there are any current / updated resources for creating a cryptocurrency / forking a git and building on top, or just plain direction on how to contribute. I've got a background in C++/Python and have followed crypto from an investor POV for several years but never took a stab at actually contributing.

I'm mainly interested in getting to know the environment better and have attempted a CryptoNote / CryptoNight build without success. I've got an EC2 loaded up but none of the packages are installing (assuming they're outdated now). Is there any detailed walkthrough for this material?

Thanks!
4  Bitcoin / Project Development / Ideal Privacy Coin on: December 31, 2017, 06:57:34 PM
Let me start off by saying there is an ocean of coins out there. A lot of then provide privacy, anonymity, and some decent ones (like XMR, forked from CN/BCN) have great potential but huge scaling issues.

What are challenges in the privacy coin landscape you'd like to see improved in a better coin OR current coin?

One of mine is a steady supply -- total cap, not to large (COLX) and not too small (ZCL).
