I am announcing my cryptocurrency project named "RootCoin" [ROOT]. This is just an (my) economic/technical project/experiment.
Please inform yourself about cryptocurrencies and their risks before making any investment (money, time, hashingpower,..).
All sales are final!

RootCoin is in final development stage. This is my first own cryptocurrency-project and
i am going to do this as a fulltimeproject by myself. I ve been involved in a couple of altcoins and
also did/am doing a lot of contract based work within the cryptocommunity.

IRC: #rootcoin
Chinese QQ Group: 310988665

RootCoin will be an oldschool scrypt PoW/PoS/PoI coin with a 4-stage-distribution model:

Stage 1: Proof of Investment (Initial coin offering  -> crowd fund)
Stage 2: pure PoW -> first 10 days will be pure PoW
Stage 3: hybrid PoW/PoS -> 2 weeks will be a hybrid PoW/PoS stage
Stage 4: 10+ PoS  -> after that the PoS system will be generating blocks for +10 years (total of 68,950 ROOT will be generated with PoS in first year)

Specifications:
algorithm: scrypt (community voting)
blockreward: 99 ROOT
total coins: 3 million coins
blocktime: 5 minutes
PoS reward: 3%
rpcport: 27377
p2pport:28388
qrcode support
POW-CUTOFF: block 3700

+100 blocks were instamined at the offical pool.
about 380 blocks were instamined through solominers AFTER launch
and before the official pool started hashing. thats a total of 38k ROOT.
The codebase of ROOT was fork from another scrypt-coin
and the GetNextTargetRequired(), the function which settles the difficully,
reset the first 450 blocks with the starting diff. leading the first 450 blocks
to be mined superfast. - as this was topic for some FUD/troll posts, i just
added it to the OP to make it public.

ROOTCOIN-distribution

The final specification is: 53% ICO, 12.21% PoW and 34.79% PoS

Launch: On the launchdate ROOT will be ready with wallets for OSX, LINUX, WINDOWS. ANDROID coming soon.
Blockexplorer and official mining-pool will also be provided at launch.

economical feature: BurnPool™
BurnPool™ will be a new kind of multipool. Users will be able to choose between two mining-options.
First option will be payout in RootCoins. Second and NEW option will be to multimine RootCoins
which get "burned" automatically by transferring them to an "proofen unspendable" public-key.
So with this step coins get burned, the coincap minimized and the value higher.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN]AsiaCoin v2 [AC2] - IMPORTANT NOTICE on: May 04, 2014, 12:20:57 PM
IMPORTANT UPDATE

we got a lot of messages today regarding this project and seems that a lot of AC bagholder
don't want to see a new coin. Most of the AC community wants the old sources to be fixed
and patched. Therefore we are going to stop our work on ACv2.

some reasons:
  • We will never publish a release with the original AC scamwallet as codebase
  • We will not risk users to lose potential 30 million AC which were dumped
  • we don't know whats still hidden in the sources
  • big bagholders and active AC community-members don't want this

we are sorry to anounce this, but as you know, there is big responsibilty linked with
such a project. and in this case we won't take responsibility over other peoples money.

we wish you good luck!

9  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Compiling cgminer on OSX on: January 07, 2014, 01:54:42 PM
hi,

i just tried to compile a patched version of cgminer to
get my new technobit HEX16C board running and get these outputs.
Can someone help and explain me whats going wrong??

Code:
tr0ja-2:cgminer asicuser$ sudo ./autogen.sh --enable-hexminera --enable-hexminerb --enable-hexminerc
readlink: illegal option -- f
usage: readlink [-n] [file ...]
usage: dirname path
Use of chdir('') or chdir(undef) as chdir() is deprecated at /opt/local/bin/autoreconf line 670.
Configuring...
./autogen.sh: line 10: /configure: No such file or directory

thanks in advance
bitsta

#EDIT: i found out the problem. readlink is working fine on linux with the -f option
but for OSX i have to use the GNU readlink (greadlink) from coreutils (installed via macports)..
it have the same behavior like readlink on linux... then edited the autogen.sh file and voila - all is working fine
10  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Bitcoin SRC: vAlertPubKey - scriptPubKey on: January 02, 2014, 01:33:30 PM
hi,

i am just studying the sourcecode of different cryptocurrencies
and i saw this part in the code:

chainparams.cpp
Code:
vAlertPubKey = ParseHex("045337216002ca6a71d63edf062895417610a723d453e722bf4728996c58661cdac3d4dec5cecd449b9086e9602b35cc726a9e0163e1a4d40f521fbdaebb674658");

i also checked the headerfile and understood that this public key is used to sign broadcast messages..

what i don't understand is what kind of public key that is? it's a 128 Character key with leading 0x04 at beginning --> so total of 130 characters. If the public key used here is a public key linked to a BTC-address how did the developer integrate
that in the source?? did they first compiled the source/merkle/genesis hash, let the system run, generate an btc-address and afterwards included the public key in the source???

regards

12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / [RESOLVED] BOUNTY 0.05 BTC: Unconfirmed transaction not visible?! on: November 21, 2013, 03:34:28 PM
[solved]

hi,

i sent 1BTC to an mtgox-addr the day before yesterday and i am still waiting.
i think its also my fault because the transaction is (was) 18000 byte big and i only
sent 0.0001 BTC as TXfee (mutlibit-standard).

The strange thing is that i don't see the transaction anymore (since today) on blockchain.info
also when i check my addr in blockchain it seems that the BTC has returned to the wallet sent from
but i can't see the BTC in my multibit wallet. already re-synced and don't know what to do..

so 0.05BTC bounty for the person helping me to get the BTC back (without importing the privatekey online(blockchain, mtgox)...)

thanks in advance

bitsta
