3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / bitex.cc [Bitcoin tutorials, how to's, guidelines and more] -in development on: June 23, 2011, 06:47:32 AM
Hi All,

Ever since I've been apart of these forums mining Bitcoins and answering questions, I wanted to build a small community to help each other out.
I've drafted an alpha stage website to bring forth this combination.

URL: http://bitex.cc/

What is bitex.cc?

Website providing information articles about: (for both rookies and pros)

  • What are Bitcoins?
  • How do I mine?
  • Trade data for the major exchanges such as MtGox, TradeHill, BitMarket, Bitcoin7
  • Ask/Bid market data with depth
  • How to optimize your miner
  • Where to download miners
  • What are dummy plugs and how to create them
  • Video tutorials in creating batch files
  • Sample miners and templates for batch files (click and go!)

....in other words, a one-stop shop for everything Bitcions and this is only 1/4 of the list!

The site is still under construction but would love some criticism.

-What would you like to see?
-What data?
-How would you like it displayed?
-What features would you like?

I ask nicely, if you have nothing to contribute, please don't bother posting.
I've taken the time to build something for the community to help others out so let's think before we type.

The site is solely built in PHP and feeds off of all the API's provided by these exchanges.
If you would like to see more exchanges or features, please let me know.

The initial design is up, all pages are not complete yet but I'd still like some feedback.

Thanks and hope you enjoy!
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is it me or is everyone turning retarded and against eachother? on: June 20, 2011, 08:36:56 PM
I've seen way too many posts here by various members which I will not name bragging on each other and trolling.
Why are "you people" being negative? If you don't like the bitcoin market or have nothing valuable to contribute, just leave?

Is it really that hard? Were all mature here (well hopefully most of us) but I just don't get why you are all picking fights. Are you seriously that bored?

This p2p bitcoin community was made so we can exchange ideas, grow as a community, NOT THE OPPOSITE! Get a-hold of yourself.

I don't mean to rant but I had to get this off my chest, "you people now make me sick". So much for a FREE MARKET. I guess we just have to put up or shut up with you idiots.

Let's keep bitcoin alive and stay off eachothers nuts, thanks.

8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / 0/offline? what does this mean? on: June 13, 2011, 06:06:29 PM
So I had a balance of 2 bitcoins that I took out from a pool.
Sent to my address via hash key.

Balance was 2.06943 whatever the # was.

I sent 2 coins to MT GOX, but the bitcoin.exe client froze/locked up and it was stuck on the send screen where you accept the fees.
I closed bitcoin, re-opened it. I sent my 2 bitcoins to MT GOX and it went through.

Right after the 2nd try, I see two of the same amounts to MT GOX both -2.01 to the same address.

One says 6/comfirmed which is good, other says 0/offline? which I'm hoping it caught the mistake and invalidated it.
However, now the 0/offline is back at 0/uncomfirmed, how do I get rid of that one? I think the system took a crap on me for my mistake.

Thanks.
9  Bitcoin / Mining support / missing funds? no confirmations? on: June 12, 2011, 07:06:36 PM

11  Bitcoin / Mining / Phoenix miner issues? on: June 10, 2011, 04:09:56 PM
Anyone having trouble with phoenix miner?

The following messages display on the miner about every 6 hours or so:

  • TCP issue - some type of error like so, I'll try to find the message and paste it
  • Disconnected from server, retrying - guessing bad packets or something
  • miner is idle - long pooling?

(I'm on swepool.net)

Is this expected?

18  Economy / Marketplace / 1btc for 1 month webhosting, 10btc for 10 months (@ current rate) on: May 29, 2011, 02:20:47 AM
I own a web hosting / design business.
My servers have enough power to run almost anything (quad core, tons of ram, plenty of space).
This is my colocation server and is my personal box for business.

It's simple, select a plan, send payment to btc address (will post when I have folks interested) and PM or send a note, well take it from there.

Plans:

MONTH TO MONTH 1 BTC
-1GB per month
-10GB trannsfer
-no porn, warez, adult etc...

YEAR PLAN 10 BTC
-pays for a year
-same specs as above

Just posting this to see if anyone is interested, if not, oh well Smiley
100% feedback (eBay, same ID as here) can send you my site via PM if need be.

Cheers!

(MOD, please move under selling, sorry)
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / What do you think? FAN RPM 2x5830's (w/ pics of setup) on: May 28, 2011, 10:11:20 PM
Hi Guys,

Im having heating issues, once GPUminer is on, both cards run to 85-88 celicius. (too hot)
I just bought one of those desk fans and its pointed straight at the cards, no help, maybe 1-3 degrees.

Specs:
MSI 870-G45 motherboard
AMD Athlon II dual core
2GB RAM\
Scout Storm Case
1,0001 AZZA PSU
320 GB WD HD
2xXFX RADEON HD 5830 @ total of 460 Mhash/s

Note: running GUIMiner with (-v -w128)

Now I'm afraid to mess with the RPM of the fan, it was at 30% running 1500 RPM, I've cranked it to 60% at 2900 RPM (much louder of course).
It's doing 60 celcius now, cranking up the RPM won't kill my card right? What do you guys think? Am I doing anything wrong here or missing something?

If I crank it back down to 1500 RPM @30%, It'll spike to 88  celcius.

Pictures posted, thanks!

Pics from my phone turned out crappy, sorry guys.

20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / [SOLVED] two hd 5830's only 1 being detected on: May 27, 2011, 06:24:05 AM
hi guys,

new here at the forums...question!

I have two XFX Radeon HD5830's running, just built a new BTC rig.
Win 7 (N) 64 bit..default drivers to install my vid cards failed.
I ended up installing off an older version and managed to get opencl/sdk in there.

Now when I run guiminer, I am only seeing
  • cypress (vid card) and [1]CPU AMD ATHLON

Where is my 2nd card? any idea?
