Ok, so I got to thinking about new mining hardware, electric consumption, breker tripping and all that shit... we've had our fair share of breaker trips due to three rooms bein wired weird. Thats worked around though just by watching what we run.
Anyway, I got to thinking about everything we currently have plugged in with each room and started smellin smoke coming from my ears. I just dont see how we dont trip more with what we use other than thinking each item has low amperage. But this got me to thinking, most people have what... 20amp breakers with about 12+ per panel dependin on the size of your house with usually 1 room to a breaker based on suspected room usage.
So... lets say someone has 4 of those chinese 20 port USB hubs on ebay, each with a 20V 4.5A power supply. That means they would need to have a new breaker put in for those four or spread them out accross different rooms right ? I know that might seem like a dumb question since I did kind of answer it myself stating that mosts houses use 20amp breakers per room but this watching electricity usage is all new to me. So laugh it up or whatever you need to since I know this probably sounds like the bs ramblings of a mad man that has no idea in hell wtf he's talking about but as it stands. Based on the answer I am waiting on about the amperage of the new equipment I plan on getting, I'm thinking I might need to have 2 new 20A breakers added just for the equipment I want to get with room to spare for future adds.
Ok, time to go drown myself in cold water to cool down the brain that has no idea what the hell just went on lol
Edit: Plus you got people who don't generally think about this stuff and get two new 1250w computers in the same room that don't seem to trip, but that could just be luck in hitting two different breakers.

So we can police ourselves, thats good, lets see if I can keep this kind clean without getting it locked and me banned.
So are the powers that be here ever gonna get off their collective asses and upgrade the site to the current / less breachy SMF 2.0.6 to stop this man in the middle sniff your password forget about avatars bullshit ?

So there's one port left on my wifi n router but I need at least 6.
Here's my question, if I havee one remaining port on my router, can I take say a 20 port ethernt hub and wire it to the only port left on my router effectively turning it in to 20 ports or will there be IP issues ?

I was layin down trying to sleep and this question hit me and I wanted to ask before I forgot.
For the people who make their paper wallets etc. offline with a computer thats never connected to the internet. What guarantees that say a million, hell 10 million, people with the same setup that two of them never end up with the same generated address. I know alot of you will say it's likely to never happen because of the length of the addresses and the randomness of them, but hey, under the right set of circumstances... anything is possible even though the Mythbusters would otherwise disagree since if they cant reproduce anything then its well, busted.

Just 12hrs ago a single BTC on MtGox was worth $630, right now it's up to $770. Good for people selling them but jacked up for people who want to buy like I did but hate that bank wire crap. Yes I know there's localbitcoin.com or w/e it is but still. I'm surprised this shits so high. I remember I think around the first of the month when they were like $350.

Don't recall if I ever asked this here before but if I did then my apologies, anyway, I was wonderingg just how many usb asic miners a single Pi can handle. One persons blog I was reading said they bombed out over 22, then anoher person that hasn't updated in a long while said they were gonna try a 50 asic mining rig.
I was planning on 40 using two 20 port hubs which I don't think is to unreasonable but I am curious if I could push it to say 60 or even 80 which would be the max I'd ever wana try since everything does have it's tipping point where it starts to hurt.

Ok, so I used that bitaddress.orgg site or w/e it is to print a paper wallet I control. Well, anybody got any ideas for one that works for namecoins ?
On that note, I was looking at something online the other day, about credit card sized plastic wallets for BTC. Anyone have any experience with those, I mean the PR keys are protected with this tamper proof foil but whos to say the makers of these didn't store PR keys somewhere to later be used by them at some point ? I guess tech the same cound be said the the bitaddres.org site since wallets are generated at theyre site.
Edit: I was even hinking of getting a trezor but their price models are bullshit, 1 BTC for rthe basic plasic case version. While normally that wouldn be a bad thin, the price of BTC flucuates like a bitch which means right now the trezor would be worth about $430 but tomorrow could be worth as little as $200.
I'd preorder if they had a solid cash price and not a BTC price that can rip a lot off people off.

So I got my nice VESA case today which I plan to use as a wall mount case. In any even, as you can see from the pic below. The pins fall short, and even if they didnt would be exposed. Sooo, does the below linked item look like it would completely close that gap of and give me a solid connection for my Adafruit LCD ? Not sure how good the pic is but if you can't see it, above the pins there's enough of a gap to take a twice folded in half 8x10 sheet o priner paper and slide it in without moving the LCD much, gap slightly changes based on tension used to hold it for paper test. Basically it comes down to me wanting a solid connection without much if any exposed pin for the LCD. https://www.modmypi.com/26-pin-gpio-connector-header-extender

Ok, so I got my rPi setup with Mine Peon and running good on wifi, I got bored and did a impulse buy on one of those Adafruit LCD displays linked below. http://www.ebay.com/itm/291002207489?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_44wt_1133Well, I contacted the seller last night about the issue and he hasn't responded yet, no bidggie yet. Anyway, I pluged the LCD onto the rPi's GPIO pins like I was supposed to. Powered up the Pi and nothing happened, no flicker of light... no nothing. For those of you who use or have used one of these Adafruit LCD displays on your rPi. Is there any sort of special software I need to load for it to initialize ? At the very least I would have expected it to power up, even if this damn thing needs additional software ontop of MinePeon to display data. Ty.

I guess this is where this goes: Wana check on how to properly get my SD card imaged with MinePeon. Every guide is different in what it says but they all tend to follow similar guidelines but not when it comes to Win32 Disk Imager. So here's my question... actually, first read this for a bit of back story: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=327374.msg3513499#msg3513499Anyway, to avoid any more shock factors, what's the best and easiest way to set up my SD card for my Pi with MinePeon and not have any unallocated space ? Or do I just do what I did before using Win32 Disk Imager and then delete the E: partiion of 90mb and recreate it to use the 13+ gb of unallocated space ?Tried this on a dummy 2gb card and the partition cannot be deleted without first removing th logical drive which is all the Pi / MinePeon software. So ya, now I'm confused and lost as to what to do. I re purposed the 16b card for my camera since it needed a bigger card anyway and plan on using an 8gb card I just got for my Pi / MinePeon. Either way I know I'm gonna run in to the same thing if I use the Win32 Disk Imager, I'll get a 1.x GB logical drive and a 90mb or so E:\ drive with about 6gb unallocaated. So ya, whats the best way to do this because even if I used a 4gb card which all the guides recomend as the smallest to consider I'd still end up with 2gb unused space which makes me wonder why all these so called guides recomend at least a 4GB card when half of it is lost to unallocated space.

Ok, so so I got a 16gb SDHC class 10 card for my Pi because it was all the store had & it was only $20 on sale. Anyway, I followed the guides and used win32 disk imager on it to add the mine peon img file. After that I went to the drive in My Computer and viewed it's properties and it's showing used space 0 bytes and 89.8mb free space... so WTF just happened ? I went back in to properties and hit format and nothing happened, still showing the DRASTICALLY reduced drive size. Edit: This is what computer management shows in XP...

Ok, so I got it hooked up wired, went in SSH and got all this pretty stuff... An ARM arch linux-based mining platform, designed for ARM microcomputers.
Peon's in feudal times were indentured vassals, often assgined dangerous, tedious and unpleasant work, like mining. -- The MineForeman
[Thu Nov 7 00:22:23 UTC 2013] [Linux minepeon 3.6.11-18-ARCH+ armv6l]
wlan0 IP: eth0 IP:192.168.0.2
[minepeon@minepeon ~]$
Followed everything the guides say, the two I'm reading from got my wirless net to show in the available list but it gets to obtaining IP then says not connected. Anybody got a guide for dummies on this thing ?

If I need three USB ports and the rPi only has 2, can I use a splitter on one o the rPi ports ?
Basically it's one port for a wifi thing and two ports needed or a hub setup.

20V 4.5A
Like the title asks, how many ASIC's would that power, I'm looking to get a 20 port hub and the listin states thats the supply that comes with the unit. If it wont power 20 with room to spare, what kind of PSU would I need to comfortably power 20 ASIC's with room to spare so not to max the PSU and burn it out.
The PSU that comes with it is one you would expect to see with a laptop so it's go one of those round plug connectors so any PSU replacement would have to have the same input end.

I know it varies on a lot of things but I am curious how long it might take me to earn a full bitcoin. Do things like a higher hash rate get you biger payouts or is it all equal share and whats a typical days worth of earning for a pool member ? I know one thing facotring in will be the amount of people workingg so average it out for me, Thx ;-)
I edited my main post so sorry to the guy that replied lol.
Figured screw the few paragraphs and keep it simple.
