3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Verge is our token today on: January 11, 2018, 04:03:36 AM
This Wednesday we highlight the Verge cryptocurrency, which was negotiated since the end of 2014, making its big leap a few days ago.

Verge is a decentralized currency designed for users who value privacy. Improve the original Bitcoin blockchain using multiple anonymity-centric networks such as Tor and i2p. It uses multi-algorithm mining support to improve security and provide an equal distribution of coins to miners, they sentence on their website.

In addition, Verge is a decentralized currency based on an open source platform. There is no central control over the currency.

Verge is currently trading at around US $ 0.17, after trading yesterday at US $ 0.23. On December 23 he wrote down his historical maximum at 0.29 USD.

From Clouddcash we value Verge as an interesting digital asset to invest in the short and medium term (no more than 3 months). The objectives to look for are located at US $ 0.25 and US $ 0.32 respectively.

The chart below shows clearly how Verge went from trading less than 1 cent a month ago, to US $ 0.17 now.

Verge is ranked 21st in the cryptocurrency ranking, with a market capitalization of more than US $ 2,400 million.

The Verge cryptocurrency can be traded in the main Exchanges under the acronym XVG. The most recommended for their liquidity are Bittrex and Binance.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ripple didn't lose value, they removed the Korean exchanges on: January 11, 2018, 03:40:02 AM
Ripple didn't lose value, they removed the Korean exchanges selling price from the valuation

Apparently, the difference in the price of ripple that everyone is seeing has nothing to do with the actual company or their currency. I just found out that Coinmarketcap.com has now removed the value at which coins are sold at on the Korean exchanges from the total value they credit the coin. Doing so caused a major disruption in the market. To the unknowing observer it looks like there's been a massive sell off of Ripple. Quite to the contrary, the move from the website was solely responsible for the devaluation of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Ripple when the price fell without warning. The South Korean government has been getting more and more involved, and somehow the article I read attributed coinmarketcap.com's decision to the pressure being applied by the authorities.

So, that really puts a question in my mind. Is the value of a digital currency that easy to manipulate? I mean, we aren't talking about a few thousand dollars here. The decision dropped total market cap by 100 billion dollars. That is some very serious business right there.

On a brighter note, they are all beginning to bounce back. I also noticed that Ethereum is now outpacing both Bitcoin and Ripple. Is Ethereum going to be the next king of crypto hill? It certainly looks like it based on the direction their value is moving. One of Ethereum's founders did an interview the other day saying that many of the digital currency projects are unsustainable and that there is going to be a crash. He went on to say that the market will consolidate, and become more solidified. Honestly, it sounded like he was doing his best to jockey his coin into position to overtake the top spot from Bitcoin.

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The Future of Money on: January 06, 2018, 06:46:35 AM
Crypto is the beginning of an alternative monetary system. The next stage in the evolution of money.

A system where (crypto) currencies are actually forced to compete for market share. What a concept!

Government-backed currencies have operated as monopolies for far too long. There's no innovation. Fiat money is simply a blunt tool for controlling people.

Crypto gives me hope that we can build a better system... and eventually end the central banking system.

I'm not alone in that hope. Millions of people are now betting on crypto to change the world.

I believe this is what's really fueling crypto's rise. The widespread desire for a system that is fundamentally different and better.

Sure, speculation and profit-seeking play a role. But people don't just invest in crypto... They join it, like it's a movement.

So the next time you hear somebody mention tulips, bubbles and crypto in the same sentence, consider giving them a different perspective.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Steem and SBD recently hit an ATH (All time high) on: January 06, 2018, 06:24:18 AM
Well, it looks like it's going to be an amazing year for cryptocurrencies as things are really heating up in Jan 2018.

Steem is getting good press again and Bitcoin is on its push back to 20,000 USD on this lovely Saturday morning.

Many know both Steem and SBD recently hit an ATH (All time high) and based on the current chart analysis it is looking very bullish to push even higher in coming months.

In a recent article published by CryptoVest this month, several interesting points were made that I'd like to share with you now.

STEEM retreated a little from the peaks above $6. At the same time, a curious phenomenon is happening to Steem Dollars. The digital asset that was supposed to be tied to the US dollar by algorithm-based interventions, has risen toward $10.

It is interesting to note that in this recent pump SBD was first to make its epic rise beyond $13 before retreating to current levels.

I'm not sure what exactly this is attributed to but I've heard people say its about institutional adoption and I've heard other people say it's because of Korean support for the thriving blockchain and social network Steemit that runs on top of it. Either way there are a lot of happy bloggers out there now at these prices!

9  Economy / Speculation / Big Daddy Bitcoin is Back & Your Alts Might be Hurting Because of It on: January 06, 2018, 04:39:56 AM
Bitcoin is back up $17,000 and with that nice move, the air has been sucked out of some of the hottest altcoins of the past month like XRP, XLM, ADA and more. Is now the time to lock in profits, buy the dip or something else? Let's talk about the day's action and what we might see in the future.
