2  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Easyminer 'Run a test...' Unavailable on: November 06, 2012, 01:55:15 AM
Cross-post from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=122565

I decided to try out Easyminer for the BFL Single I just received.

I was able to upload 832 MH/s firmware and perform a diagnosis in administrative mode. 'Run a test...' is still greyed out though. I'm thinking it might be having detection issues and I might want to install the D2XX usb driver.

Anyone have this issue with Easyminer before?

4  Economy / Lending / (BTCJAM) (100% reached) 100 BTC Loan Request on: September 28, 2012, 02:01:15 AM
-IMPORTANT- GLBSE claims it will be down until Saturday. I will not activate the loan until I am either certain it is in working condition, or I have decided how  to move forward. -IMPORTANT-

Thank you everyone for bringing me to 100%! I'm still waiting for news regarding the GLBSE before I activate the loan. Hopefully everything will be up and running tomorrow. If not... I may be purchasing mining equipment sooner, rather than later.

I am looking for funds to invest into various mining operations and/or mining rig(s).

Invested funds would be diversified equally among the chosen bonds by a mhash/sec (where able) basis and I will disclose what mining rig(s) I purchase, when I purchase/receive them, and how much I pay for them (assuming the purchase(s) are made during the loan period).

Thank You

If this would fit better in LTO let me know. I was considering opening a perpetual GLBSE bond, and may still do so if enough people are interested in it... BTCjam's closing fee is simply less than GLBSE's flat 8 BTC fee.

Feel free to ask any questions or reasonable requests, accuse me of heinous acts, and threaten the safety of my wife and children*.

*Just don't do so on BTCjam, it's against their policy

Thank You

6  Economy / Securities / [Gauging Interest/Seeking Insurer]100% Insured PPT on: July 23, 2012, 04:39:42 PM
I have a proposal for a way to manage 100%* Insured Pirate Pass Through bonds on the GLBSE.

I am interested in speaking to anyone confident in BTCST who has the capital to insure bonds. This would be more feasible with a larger account balance, and therefore higher interest rate, which is why I am seeking a third-party insurer.

Please don't shrug this off as me trying to dump the risks off on someone else, PM me if interested.

Will explain how this would be done privately to potential insurer, until PPT announced*

8  Other / Politics & Society / Anti-Laundering Policies US on: November 16, 2011, 04:24:08 AM
I recently found out that the current US (Federal) Anti Money Laundering laws now cover "Stored Value Cards", such as gift cards, moneypaks, and prepaid visas/mastercards. It no longer only covers Money Orders.

How do you think this policy will affect people looking to buy bitcoins, the bitcoin economy as a whole, and money laundering in general. (Bonus points if you incorporate Silk Road)
9  Economy / Currency exchange / From SMS to Bitcoin on: October 25, 2011, 09:04:27 AM
A (long) night of research has allowed me to produce a way to get Bitcoins from SMS Payments (from any Country PerfectMoney accepts, I will edit thread to clarify later).

First off (hopefully you already know this), you need a contract phone that is connected to a Credit Card, or a prepaid phone with a balance.

Using said phone you can fund an account on https://perfectmoney.com with an SMS Payment.
  • See "Instant SMS deposit" under "How to Deposit"

PerfectMoney can then be used to fund an https://www.okpay.com/ account.

From there you can fund your USD balance on https://tradehill.com where you can trade the USD for bitcoins.

I would not be surprised if there are other ways to go about this, especially if you live in a country that is covered by websites that allow direct bitcoin purchase by SMS payments. SMS payments certainly aren't the most efficient way of buying bitcoins, but it's a good use for all of those unused minutes on your prepaid phone.
