1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Debate: Do you think criminals do more good than harm to bitcoin? on: October 29, 2015, 10:23:25 AM
Lately I have seen another news of some kidnappers demanding ransom in bitcoin. Then the family seems to be really bought $1.7M worth of BTC (about 5.5k BTC as my estimate). This would be one of the reason for the recent price increase ($1.7M is a lot of money!). However medias keep spreading false information on bitcoin, like stating 'bitcoin is using widely in criminals' etc.

So how do you think? Does the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Another article spreading false information about bitcoin on: October 15, 2015, 08:51:19 AM
Today I've seen an article on the economic section of the newspaper which makes be very angry.
Here's the outline of the article translated to English (I've thrown away the newspaper of anger, however I remembered what it spread):
Quote
I (writer) have met a friend who played wth bitcoin (1), and he said that a bitcoin conference held in Philippines have invited a significant people (2) for free.
Then I (writer) think that he is willing to go for free because he have a lot of bitcoin, which are got from satoshi (3).
I (writer) also think that bitcoin will over just for switching off the power supply (4), and make them worthless.
(1) Bitcoin isn't a thing to 'play' with! He is trying to leave a bad impression to the public!
(2) I've forgot who he is, nor know who he is, he is described significant in the article.
(3) Whaaaat satoshi is selling/giving away his bitcoins?! The writer is calling satoshi as a bad guy!
(4) This is a false information - bitcoin will not gone just for switching off the power. Other nodes are running still fine.

What do you think?

6  Bitcoin / Mining support / Miners detecting only 1/2 GPU of 3... on: August 03, 2011, 02:10:47 PM
Guys, interesting problem here.

I have one motherboard with 3 pci-e slots, 2 x16 and 1 x4 and 2 XFX 5850 and 1 Sappire 5850 Xtreme...

Mining with 1 GPU in the x4 slot works perfectly, mhash's stays same as mining with x16 slots...

But I'm having trouble to mining with the 3 GPUs at the same time.. poclbm and phoenix doesn't recognize 3 GPUs... (didn't try other miners, but I prefer one of these)...

I've installed a fresh install of ubuntu, and linuxcoin, and in the aticonfig --list-adapters I get 3 adapters, 3 hd series, but when I open the miners, only 2 (or sometimes 1) appers, and the CPU...

what could it be?

PSU can handle them btw
7  Bitcoin / Mining support / This work for Ubuntu 11? on: July 29, 2011, 08:20:48 PM

8  Bitcoin / Mining support / [SOLVED] Problem with Ubuntu 11 autostart, please help me out here... on: July 28, 2011, 03:45:31 PM
I have 5 scripts that need to be executed on the system boot.

start.sh
Code:
#!/bin/bash
sleep 20
gnome-terminal --title gpu.overclock --command "sh /home/corelinux1/gpu.overclock.sh"
gnome-terminal --title gpu0.miner --geometry=+0+0 --command "sh /home/corelinux1/gpu0.miner.sh"
gnome-terminal --title gpu1.miner --geometry=-0+0 --command "sh /home/corelinux1/gpu1.miner.sh"
gnome-terminal --title gpu0.fan --geometry=+0-0 --command "sh /home/corelinux1/gpu0.fan.sh"
gnome-terminal --title gpu1.fan --geometry=-0-0 --command "sh /home/corelinux1/gpu1.fan.sh"

so this start.sh, when executed from the terminal, as "sh /home/corelinux1/start.sh", everything goes fine, all 5 scripts are executed, the miners starts fine, the fans to, etc etc, except to the fact that the terminal where I executed didn't close itself (I want that)

so I added the command "sh /home/corelinux1/start.sh" at the Startup Applications on System Settings (Ubuntu 11), but when the system goes up, every command from the script (execute the others scripts) is executed only if the previous script is closed, AND the miner scripts gives errors of pypopencl include (don't know why)...

the gpu.overclock.sh is executed, and then, the gpu0.miner.sh is only executed when the gpu.overlock.sh closes itself.. so the gpu0.miner.sh is executed and gives the include error, so, it closes itself too, making the gpu1.miner.sh execute and giving the same error... then when it closes, the gpu0.fan.sh is executed, but it don't give any errors, so it stays running and the gpu1.fan.sh is not executed at all, or only if I close the gpu0.fan terminal...

what a fuck should I do? this is making me crazy!!!

and sorry if it couldn't be more specific, but please help me out here...

ps:
oh, and I did another script called autostart.sh, with "sh /home/corelinux1/start.sh" on it, and replaced with the start.sh command on the Startup Applications, but it happens the same thing...

15  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Help me out with 2 XFX 5850 on the same mobo please... (windows) on: June 28, 2011, 07:14:35 PM
Ok, I have 2 XFX 5850 on the same dedicated PC crossfired..

so far so good, but when I'm trying to downclock the memory and overclock the core, trough BarelyClocked.exe, I have only one 5850 listed, and I cant overlock the core, only downclock the memory... The other 5850 I can't do nothing... Cant either overclock trough catalyst center or msi afterburner... limit is 775mhz even with the .cfg modification...

They are connected to a 750w power supply...

could anyone help me?
