1  Economy / Speculation / Predicting Bitcoin Price on: March 13, 2019, 09:18:10 PM
I just can't figure out why Bitcoin hasn't started rallying yet   Huh  .  I thought for sure it was going to get excited when Fidelity Bitcoin custody service launched and Samsung Galaxy S10 started selling and the London Blockchain ETF yet the price of Bitcoin is acting nonchalant still trading at 3900 for the past week.  I just find it mindboggling that given all the news and events since the start of 2018 when prices were at or near all time highs in regards to Cryptocurrency if you asked me I would value the prices to be higher as I see increasing adoption.  On Fidelity Digital Assests Twitter account they mentioned that institutional interest is still the same.  https://twitter.com/Kr00ney/status/1104056994393133058
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Cryptocurrency cold storage wallets retrieveable after computer hard drive corru on: February 27, 2019, 08:57:02 PM
Hello, I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop and I just found out from the computer repair shop that the tech was unable to retrieve the data I had on my hard drive.  Previously I downloaded a bunch of cold storage wallets and deposited coins in them.  I was forced to transfer because Cryptopia was delisting the coin.  The tech told me he could send the hard drive to some other place but it would be about $400 but I told him to forget about it and just put a new hard drive since I don't think the total amount of coins in US dollars is worth close to $400.  I am wondering if there is a way I could still retrieve the coins from the cold storage wallet.  I will know the transaction information from the cryptopia exchange as well as an email that i clicked to confirm the transaction.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How can I stop thinking about Cryptocurrency so much on: December 09, 2018, 01:28:20 AM
I didn't think about Cryptocurrency as much last year, but now that the prices have dropped so much I think about it more often to the point that it has become the most frequent subject on my mind and I'd rather stop thinking about it so much.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Recent Selling Outweighing Buying in Cryptocurrency :( on: November 20, 2018, 12:46:55 AM
Pheww sigh I can't believe there is still more selling than buying at these price levels.  What is going on?  Are people still selling because of fear of Craig White and bchsv or has the difficulty in bitcoin dropped.  Investors have gone out of their minds to be selling altcoins when they are down 90 to 99 percent.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Coinexchange T-coin on: August 09, 2018, 02:30:32 AM
Coinexchange is delisting T-coin and I have some T-coins, but I can't find any information as to where I can deposit T-coins from Coinexchange.  Does anybody know where you can deposit T-coins to?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Altcoins harsh sell off past 2 days on: July 20, 2018, 09:50:47 PM
I wasn't sure if there is any news why most of the altcoins have been aggressively selling off very strong today after a negative day yesterday.  If so could it be because of the congressman article?
https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/congressman-wants-cryptocurrency-banned-in-america/

I trade frequently on Poloniex and the average coin is down like 10% today after most were down yesterday and I don't why but either stop losses were triggered or some whale(s) or panic sellers dumped heavily on eth/btc xrp/btc fct/btc btm/btc dash/btc all about 2 hours ago.  I just bought more factom and dash when I caught them low like this.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Coin Delisting, Coin Swapping, Wallet Maintenance, May 14 Consensus Rally? on: May 16, 2018, 06:43:26 AM
I am starting to get disgusted with the exchanges being able to do this "Coin Delisting" and "Coin Swapping" and "Wallet Maintenance".

"Coin Delisting", in the past month Cryptopia (and not to be harsh on just Cryptopia, I know a lot of other exchanges have done this) sends notices of about 40 coins that they are taking off the trading platform and there is a one month of time before it is not even on the exchange anymore and the trading platform and the investors/traders are ok with this?  The qualifications for a coin developer to be accepted onto an exchange I think have to be stricter.  I think the exchange trading platform needs to have more communication with the coin developer if there is an issue and if not already done so the coin developers need to provide multiple ways of contact.  And I don't think that the trading platform should be able to delist the coin like it is nothing.  The exchange lists most of the coins that they are being delisted were coins that were still able to trade using Bitcoin during the January excitement so I am sure that there are a lot of traders/investors who have these coins while they fixed their dogecoin and litecoin that took about 2 months.  About half of the delisted coins I am unable to withdraw out of Cryptopia and why because of "broken blockchain"- what are you talking about?  Then someone that is getting paid should be obligated to fix the broken blockchain.  It is not my job as a trader/investor to have to fix this "broken blockchain".  Some of the coins I can not withdraw because the only other exchange that lists the coin has "wallet maintenance" status.  What are they even doing "wallet maintenance"?  It has already been a month on a few of the coins such as POSW and XGR and FAZZ I had money in those and what am I supposed to do, I can't even retrieve them.  What if I did not have a way to access the internet for 1 month?  A couple of coins only trade on Cryptopia CRUR and FONZ and GAIA and I have money in those coins.  So what am I supposed to do?

"Coin Swapping"  Why are the coin developers even doing this?  I believe some of them the investor/trader does not have to do the coinswap to get their coins and some do?  It took me hours of frustration to figure out how to do a coin swap and I didn't even do it right and I thank the developers of Scorecoin who ended up giving me the value that I had when I showed up my coinswap attempt.  As an investor/trader I don't feel that it is my responsibility to be having to do coinswaps.  I shouldn't have had to download programs onto a computer and learn programming and adding nodes.  I got a better idea, if you are a coin developer and you have to do some sort of coin swap for whatever reason then just make another coin and the coin developer has to be able to put the coin onto the all of the same exchanges that the old coins were listed on and be able to give the same U.S. dollar or Bitcoin value that the trader/investor previously owned or another option the exchange has to give the trader/investor the value of the coin at the time of the last trade and the coin developer can pay for it.

I just didn't expect this, but if this is just going to continue then I am not going to invest as much as I did in most of the altcoins unless I plan to sell it very soon.  This type of stuff is also going to discourage new investors.

A little disappointed to see most of the digital currency coins down about 10% now since the May 14th consensus started especially after I read multiple articles and watched videos that there could be an excitement in cryptocurrency.  I feel bad that I shared the information among all of my friends who I share investing ideas with and encouraged them about buying.  Is there negative news right now?

9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency tax capital gains but Q1 capital loss estimated tax on: April 01, 2018, 06:15:20 PM
I am not sure what to do and I feel like there has got to be a lot of similar investors out there that are in a similar position as me.  I am currently working on taxes on TruboTax and it looks like I am going to owe about 7,000 for federal and 2,300 for state taxes, but yet I have way more capital loss than capital gains over the next 3 months.  I didn't expect Cryptocurrency after 3 to 3 1/2 months to have taken about a -80% crash and to still be in a downtrend like this.  Not only Cryptocurrency but the U.S. stock market has taken a pretty big hit and I had bought shares of volatile stocks/indexes such as SPXL (S and P 500 3x leverage with volatility adjustment) and I lost 95% in XIV (similar to SVXY an inverse of volatility that did well over the past several years then imploded/collapsed) as well as mj stocks which did very well right before the new year and most of those stocks went down very hard about -80% crash from their peaks.  TurboTax is asking me if I want to do Q1 taxes probably because I made a lot in capital gains, but I am thinking maybe I could do Q1 estimated taxes for capital losses.
