1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / how much is claymore developer earning a day? on: June 26, 2017, 01:14:55 PM
just out of curiosity, I'm thinking how much is claymore developer earning since everyone is paying 1% developer fee for using the claymore miner.

Take ethereum for example, there are about 26800 eth (incl. uncles) generated a day. Everyone that i know is using claymore miner, so thats 26800 x 0.01 = 268 eth a day. Using an exchange of 1 eth = $300usd, thats 80400 usd a day.

wow! my maths must be wrong?

4  Economy / Services / hydro powered colocation/hosting. interested? on: May 27, 2014, 12:00:31 AM
hi everyone,

I'm from melbourne and have been traveling in and out of china for the past few months. I believe that electricity is going to be the major factor in bitcoin mining as the world pump up the hashrate. So i've been looking for alternative sources of cheap electricity in china.

I have a small mining farm in shenzhen. Recently, we've partnered with a hydro power company to offer cheap and green electricity to large mining farms. I can't give your the electricity rate yet, but it should be anywhere between $0.3 to $0.6 rmb.

We are still in the beta stage, so I'm just gauging the interest from the ground. If you are

a) currently providing mining hosting or has very high hashrate ( a few hundred to peta hashes), would you consider the possibility of moving your operations to china with cheaper electricity?

b) investing in large scale mining farms, would you consider building your farm in china running hydro power?

I am pretty open to options and more than happy to meet in real. Any ideas/suggestions welcomed.

cheers,
bernard

7  Economy / Auctions / [WTS] antminer 180GH/S x 1, auction ends 16 Jan 10pm EST on: January 15, 2014, 07:45:40 AM
hi all,

I am in need of bitcoins, so I'm letting go of my 1.5 weeks old antminer.

starting bid: 3.0 btc
buy now bid: 4.5 btc
bid increment: 0.05 btc

No escrow, bid with only bitcoins. Pls bid only if you are serious and agree on the price. Don't ask for discount after you win. I don't have to sell the miner if the reserved price is not met.

The miner is 100% working and configured to overclocked at 200GH/S and will be shipped from china for FREE. You just need to configure your network and set your pool. If unsure, there are tonnes of tutorials around in this forum.

I will provide my wallet address only to the successful bidder and he/she will give me the shipping address. I will ship asap once payment confirmed.

thankyou.

11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How much bitcoin was cheated off you before? BTC Scammability Index on: December 14, 2013, 10:46:20 PM
It will be interesting to collect some statistics on the scammability of bitcoins. Please be honest so we can all benefit from the result of the poll.

Were you scammed before? How much?

Definition of scam:

a) You bought something with btc and got nothing in return.
b) You wallet was hacked.

Scammability Index 1 = 100% scam

Scammability index 0 = 0% scam
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / can satoshi kill bitcoin? on: December 13, 2013, 05:15:57 AM
In a hypothetical situation, if satoshi ever comes back, does he has the power to kill crypotcurrency?

What can he do to make bitcoin valueless? What if he comes back and spread some ugly news about bitcoin? What if he comes back and sell all his bitcoins away? What if he comes back and say xxxcoin is the way to go? What is going to happen to bitcoin?

If satoshi is nsa or some scamming group, can he/they potentially use this power to control or destroy the whole world once bitcoin is accepted into the mainstream? If thats the case, all the mining gears, stock exchanges and all industry that builds around bitcoin will disappear in a day.

What if satoshi is a sadist or has emotional problems? are we all too naive to follow the tail of an anonymous person?

will that day every come?

13  Bitcoin / Hardware / [SCAM] Phoenix Technologies - bitcoinminingcenter disappeared completely on: December 10, 2013, 09:20:30 AM
bitcoinminingcenter.com was registered in april and they did a lot of groundwork like doing a professional PR release, ecommerce site, had a real tech support by the name of "Xiao" with what looked like a legit Hong Kong address. They were suppose to ship batch 1 on mid nov but on mid-nov, they said that they had a delay of power supplies and would ship only end of nov or early dec. On 29 Nov 2013, after scamming tonnes of bitcoins from the public, they disappeared completely from the world. The value of bitcoin was much lower then. It would have been worth a lot more today. It was looking like they planned this scam right in the beginning when they registered the domain name in april 2013.

I am helping to collate all the resources available to help to make the investigation easier. If you are a victim, pls write all your grievances here to make life easier for investigation. Don't let the scammer get away. We don't need these people around.

I can't help express my feelings.

butterflisation - the process where you prepaid for something and then waited ages for it to arrive. Waiting for those products to arrive is like having butterflies in the stomach.
