gonna try a thing here:
so far it's like a ... summary of the logs http://log1.bitcoin-assets.com/
warning about self-moderated threads: they most often contain scams, and the thread-runner deletes any bad feedback
my idea here is not to sell you anything, but to keep the amount of reading required to a minimum so please do reply, give bad feedback, suggestions, tips and edits, whatever. i'm bound to get lots wrong i may or may not incorporate them and then delete unwanted posts if you'd like to discuss the issues raised, i'm probably too new to understand them much myself, so maybe make a thread and link us here?
caveat: unless in italics, the views expressed here aren't mine. i am not affiliated
this is no substitute for reading the full logs and associated links and blogs when it comes to bitcoin education; it may be like a pre-school for bitcoin

http://qntra.net/2015/01/the-hard-fork-missile-crisis/"... Today Gavin posted on his personal blog an article titled "Looking before the Scaling Up Leap", stating "My goal is to prove that it is safe to raise the maximum block size from 1MB to at least 20MB" along with "I'll argue we should schedule a hard fork." Reddit soon blindly praised Gavin for his work, with comments such as "Fork it hard." It appears as if Gavin will not give up unless his hard fork is a reality, and thus Mircea Popescu has made a declaration of war if Gavin proceeds with his plans. ..." http://trilema.com/2015/if-you-go-on-a-bitcoin-fork-irrespective-which-scammer-proposes-it-you-will-lose-your-bitcoins/"... To make it perfectly clear : in no case will MPEx accept this fake Bitcoin, as it's not accepted any other fake Bitcoin to date, and for the exact reasons. Moreover, my budget to sink this scam exceeds the budget of everyone involved on the supporting side.vi That is all. ..." So, Gavin, do you really want to lose little people their coins? Or could you just let it drop?

Mr. Ver made a thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=784520.0Topic: Announcement coming soon.
Reserved, but here is a hint what it is about:
MTGOX Hacker Bitcoinica Hacker Satoshi Email Hacker As the thread is in Project Development, I guess he hasn't exactly found these guys (this guy?), but needs some help. Are they connected? Will there be a big bounty? Can you help? Was it you? Shouldn't you come clean before you're doxed? Or what's going on?

It just dawned on me - I am that slow - how this expostulation in 2010 from David Cameron ('leader' of the 51st state of the #USSA) will come to haunt him in another way.
When he first stupidly said it, most thought, 'What a turd, you're rich, your type ripped me off, you aren't "in this" and you've no idea what it's like to be "in this", no one in their right mind will vote for you again, now sod off.'
But Bitcoin happened, and it turns out this turd is as poor as the next guy. Hurrah. Now he knows what it's like to be in this mess.
Or do you think he's hoarding like his masters?
And where's he going to shelter from the storm? Argentina?

The Twelve Steps of Bitcoin Pseudonymous.
1. We admitted we were powerless over Bitcoin - that our lives had become unmanageable. 2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. 3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of our Higher Power. 4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. 5. Admitted to our Higher Power, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. 6. Were entirely ready to have our Higher Power remove all these defects of character. 7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings. 8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all. 9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. 10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it. 11. Sought through thinking and reading to improve our conscious contact with our Higher Power, hoping only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out. 12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to other people and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

Ok one of these threads is important stuff. But the rest? New accounts with probing questions? Are the TPTB trying to mine us for political/religious views or so on? Or is it the dice sponsorship people giving their customers a chance to post more drivel? What's the purpose? I can't believe these new accounts are real people, real bitcoiners.

http://blog.cex.io/cex-io-bitcoin-commodity-exchange-imposes-trade-fee/Within two weeks, CEX.IO Bitcoin Commodity Exchange introduces trade fee, which will be implemented in two stages, namely fixed commission of 0.2% and further transition to the flexible fee, that of 0.5% to 0.2%. The fee implementation is aligned with the upcoming project monetisation and introduction of the most in-demand trading pairs, such as BTC/USD and USD/GHS. It is widely known that CEX.IO has been barely the only Bitcoin exchange, which enabled users to buy or sell traded commodities without any fees. After the fee is implemented each trade transaction will be conducted inclusive % commission. The fee introduction will be executed in two steps. The first one will embody a standard 0.2% commission on all buy/sell transactions and will last one month. After that, the amount of the fee will become flexible and vary for each user, depending on a 30-day trading history. Thus, the trade commission at CEX.IO will finally lie between 0.5% and 0.2%. Users will be able to get acquainted with the full fee policy at the respective “Trade Fee” page. Despite the fact that such step slightly moves CEX.IO towards the way other Bitcoin exchanges operate, the platform provided official explanation to the decision. The thing is, CEX.IO is currently preparing the necessary foundation for the introduction of US dollars on its platform. Without any doubt, this will be an incredible and awaited advancement for the users, who will be able to, for instance, buy Bitcoin mining power and withdraw funds in the currency they are used to right on CEX.IO without any the necessity to convert cryptocurrencies somewhere else. Fiat currency introduction would require significant financial investments, legislative grounds and joint efforts of all CEX.IO staff, believes CEX.IO’s spokesperson Jeffrey Smith. “Surely, we understand that some of our users may be dissatisfied with the mandatory trade fee. However, considering all the pros and cons, we are confident that the possible negative reaction will be totally offset by adding USD to the list of our trading pairs, and some promising upgrades related to scrypt mining”, says he. /quote
