Abordable et open-source, le premier Bitcoin hardware wallet au format carte bleue !

Une jeune startup Belge 🇧🇪 a lancé un premier hardware wallet BTCitcoin au format carte à puce 💳.
D’après leur site satochip.io, il s’agit en fait d’une carte à puce (style carte d’identité ou carte de banque) sur laquelle sont stockées les clés privées.
Ce hardware wallet est compatible avec le célèbre client Electrum.

Il semblerait que plusieurs crypto-monnaies soient supportées : Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH) et Litecoin (LTC).

Spécificités techniques :

Sécurité : ce portefeuille est hautement sécurisé car il utilise uniquement une puce coprocesseur, la même que dans le domaine bancaire.
Les puces sont éprouvées et réputées inviolables. Une fois les clés cryptographiques générées et stockées dans la puce, elles ne la quittent plus jamais.
L’accès à la puce pour, entre autre, réaliser la signature des transactions sur la blockchain est également sécurisé par code PIN.

Utilisation : l’utilisation de ce portefeuille nécessite un client compatible : Electrum, Electron Cash ou Electrum Litecoin et un lecteur de carte.
L’avantage c’est que, en Belgique, nous utilisons déjà quasi tous un lecteur de carte (vive Tax-On-Web).

Prix : la solution semble vraiment abordable: une carte coûte 25€, ce qui la positionne parmi les hardware wallets le moins cher du marché !

Open source : il semblerait que le projet soit totalement open source.
Encore un bon point car tout le monde peut analyser le code qui est chargé sur la puce et comprendre sa sécurité et son fonctionnement.

Affordable and open-source Bitcoin hardware wallet on a smartcard.

This Belgian startup has launched a smartcard BTCicoin hardware wallet.
Reading the satochip.io website, it look like a chip card (like ID or bank card) where the private keys are stored.

This hardware wallet is fully compatible with Electrum  
It look like it supports several crypto-currencies : Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Litecoin (LTC).



Technical specifications :

Security :
This hardware wallet is highly secured because it uses a chip, the same used in the bank business field.
Secured chips are proven and deemed inviolable. When the cryptographic keys are generated and stored within the chip, they never leave it.
Access to the card is enforced through the use of a PIN code.

How to use :
To use this hardware wallet, you need a client Electrum, Electron Cash or Electrum Litecoin and a chip card reader.

Price :
This solution is really affordable : 25€ for a hardware wallet which positions it among the cheapest hardware wallets on the market!

Open source :
The code embedded in the chip card is fully open source.
