Hello, need help please. I'm using btcrecover, I currently have an 8700k and it's been plenty sufficient for checking the couple million variations I made in the passwords list. But it hasn't found my password yet and it's time to step it up in the tokens file so I need something stronger, and I'm not willing to spend more than a grand on a CPU.
Would a 2950x 24/48 or a 3950x 16/32 be faster for this program? Logically the more cores makes sense, but I remember reading Threadripper Gen2 had an efficiency issue with the design and you can see it in the benchmarks where it severely lacks. But at the same time it wouldn't be doing anything hardcore other than checking passwords against a wallet file. So which would be better for this? I know the Ryzen 9 3950x is much better as an all around daily driver, but this would be just for this purpose and sold once the wallet password is recovered.
What do you guys think? The conclusion is here if you guys need help: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5211027.msg53409785#msg53409785

What do you guys run you cards at in the summer? What is safe 24/7? Mine ran nice and cool in the winter but it's warming up now. Have too many cards for AC, so I use exchange with outside air. For 1070ti's and 1080ti's

I've got a couple GPUs that run hot no matter where I move them. Got many others of the same kind and they are fine. Power limit, core, algo, etc are all the same.

How can I get the GPUs in my main rig to auto mine when the rig is at idle? I always forget to set it when I leave or go to sleep.
5 min idle should be good, ccminer.

Is there a way to search through an individual thread? That way people don't keep asking the same questions over and over within said threads. Weren't they supposed to upgrade the forum years ago? Xenforo would be wonderful. A top notch board and community deserves top notch software.

On my 1080ti rigs I find a more efficient hash undervolting to 900mv at 1900 core, while still getting good hash but at much lower heat and power. could probably go higher core but haven't really tried yet.
Anyway, I noticed afterburner will only apply the curve to one card, even with the apply to all cards option set and even if I unlink them in gpu option window and try and do each one at a time separately, only one card will hold. They are all the same EVGA SC Black Edition.
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Fresh Win10x64 LTSB updated install.
Thoughts? I know I need to switch to something like simplemining if they allow voltage control that is, but for now would like to get this situated.

I open it once a week and it takes hours and hours to update on a fast connection.

Do you guys set up individual workers for each rig, or just combine them all into one worker? Just wondering if this matters because of the way pools assign difficulty to workers.

Anyway to speed up afterburner startup in win10? I want to put the mining program in the startup folders but can't because afterbuner starts up some 30-60 seconds later and can't have 8 GPUs firing away at 100% power during that time. Yes everything is on SSD.
Thanks

Just curious, especially for bulk buyers. I always plan to but never get around to it, such a pain. Thinking about saying just ignore them all together.

At 240v is a 30/30 capable of 7200 watts or 14400? 80% rule would be followed of course, just need to know the limits.

Hey what's up. Been gone a couple years and can't access my old account. I have all the info, etc. I sent an email to that address and didn't receive a reply. How do I go about getting my old account back? I don't like all the restrictions of being a newb again. Thanks
