1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / DogeCoin Price Holds Up Despite Bitcoin Crash and +1 billion DOGE/day inflation on: December 18, 2013, 11:09:40 AM
Bitcoin crashing and 1 billion new DOGE being minted per day.

Despite this DOGE price is holding up! Amazing!

Also 8 threads on the alt-coin front page have DOGE in the title.

Considering this coin doesn't offer anything particularly innovative besides humor, I'm shocked.
2  Other / Off-topic / This Just In: Chinese President Rumored to be replacing Yuan with Bitcoin on: December 17, 2013, 04:26:13 AM
I have a secret source who has a friend who knows the President of China.

He is rumored to have said, during a secret circlejerk, that they will be making Bitcoin the official currency of China.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why is Colossuscoin so Cheap right now? on: December 04, 2013, 06:49:01 AM
I'm thinking of buying a couple more btc worth of ColossusCoin due to the extremely low price right now.

Does anyone know why Colossuscoin has a market cap of only 13btc right now?

This coin has a nice name and concept.  It's one of the only coins with 550 billion units.  Even if the price goes up high, everyone will be dealing with nice whole numbers.

It has fast confirmations too.

a nicely designed website: http://colossuscoin.org/

It's traded on cryptsy.com

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Noirbits Is About to Go H.A.M. on: December 03, 2013, 04:23:56 AM
The market cap for Noirbits is a mere 89btc.

http://coinmarketcap.com/

This coin has a nicely designed website, a block explorer, a faucet, a dice game, it's traded on cryptsy.

This coin...is TOO DAMN CHEAP right now, the only way it can go is H.A.M.

It seems like the altcoin section is filled with a lot of people pumping up and rooting for whichever coins they happen to be holding.

Would anyone care to give me an objective opinion on the altcoins I'm currently purchasing?

I'm purchasing the following:

Litecoin (55)
Peercoin (200)
Namecoin (125)
Feathercoin (1,550)
Megacoin (2,160)
Worldcoin (4,200)
Zetacoin (103,000)

I plan to exchange all these altcoins for bitcoins once I lock in satisfactory profits.

Does anyone have any beef with these coins or my positions?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / 1 Satoshi = 1 Penny on: November 20, 2013, 07:30:12 AM
Satoshi was a genius who foresaw many things that others failed to see.

He foresaw that 1 Satoshi would eventually equal 1 penny.

Satoshi is a modern day Abraham Lincoln, freeing the New Slaves.

10  Economy / Securities / Solid Securities Thread on: November 15, 2013, 08:07:11 AM
Is it just me or does the whole bitcoin securities section seem to be filled with garbage recently?

Back in May I became very optimistic about investing in bitcoin securites, largely thanks to my investment in and the rise of ASICMINER.  Everything seemed to start going downhill with btct closing down, bitfunder shutting out US citizens, and ASICMINER running into competition.

I'm looking to invest in something promising besides ASICMINER

My crude summary of securities on Havelockinvestments.com:

CasinoBitco.in (symbol: CBTC): seems like there are already too many well-established bitcoin casinos doing a great job.  It's going to be hard to get a foothold in this market.  What differentiates this company from the others?

Crypto Financial (CFIG): Another currency exchange? Why use this exchange, where's the money to be made?  A bunch of tiny fees on a tiny exchange?

Cognitive Mining (COG): Small-time mining company up against massive competition? Doesn't sound too good.

Dealco.in (DEALCO): Why would anyone use this over localbitcoins.com

Havelock Mining Fund (HMF): Another small-time mining operation up against massive competition

Korb and Co. Investments Mining Fund (KCIM): Another small-time mining operation up against massive competition

Labcoin Passthru (LABCO): I'm hearing this is a scam?

Neo & Bee Payment Network (NEOBEE): Looks like the most promising security besides ASICMINER.  It also looks like a hugely complicated, expensive, elaborate, ostentatious project that could fail due to its complexity and massive up-front cost.

S.MG Passthru from MPEX (SMG): Games that use bitcoin payment systems?  Doesn't sound very interesting or popular.

VirtEx Canadian Bitcoin Exchange (VTX): Another currency exchange? Why use this exchange over existing ones, where's the money to be made?

XBOND - Exchangeable Fixed-Rate Bond (XBOND): Another boring bitcoin bond.  Why would I invest in bitcoin bonds?

I'm looking at asicminer, neobee, and activemining as the most promising securities right now.
Are we all better off just hanging onto our coins in this market?
Are there any solid securities offered right now?  Please join the discussion.
