1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / 5 GPU setup issues on: December 13, 2013, 03:04:05 AM
Alright I built this for litecoins but same principal.

Here is my setup.

1600 watt psu http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007W5TV6K/ref=as_li_ss_til?tag=onsimobicomps-20&camp=0&creative=0&linkCode=as4&creativeASIN=B007W5TV6K&adid=0TSSEEV0RC81HPVBKQD4

Mother board MSI Z77A-GD65- http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007QWIA52/ref=as_li_ss_til?tag=onsimobicomps-20&camp=0&creative=0&linkCode=as4&creativeASIN=B007QWIA52&adid=0PFP81V7KE692HCNM2EZ

Intel Celeron Processor

8 gb of ram

32gb ssd card

running windows 8

used a shelf from lowes for the case

using 1x to 16x risers for the cards

Mobo here

My issues
1. I can only get 2 cards to show up on the mobo. They are plugged in using 1x to 16x risers, non powered I have 5 cards in a row. Only number 1 (the monitor is attached to it) and number 5 will show up on the device manager.

I am using 1x to 16x risers gpu number 1 is in the 1x (black) slot next to Military Class 3, then I skip the 16x and plug card 5 in the next 1x slot. I tried plugging in the other 3 cards into this same slot but they do not show up when the computer boots. They power on, the fan runs but I get nothing.

I tried plugging the cards directly into the 16x slot and nothing works at all the screen just loads black. I unplug from the 16x slot and it comes back on.

The cards that I can get working are set up great. Im getting about 1450-1500 kh/s from the two. So getting all 5 working would make my day.

I followed this guide to build the set up and it led back to this forum http://www.coinminingrigs.com/ please go to the 6 gpu guide thats the one I used. I only got 5 gpu's due to using the 1600 psu

Here are some questions I was asked when working with a guy on skype,

1. Yes everything is plugged in correctly. Each gpu has both 8 pin slots plugged in. The psu has 6 power slots for gpus I am using 5 of them.
2. Each card turns on and the fan runs when plugged into the gpu but only the 2 will show up and work.

Feel free to throw ideas at me. I have cgminer working great with the two cards and really want the other 3 up and running. Its been nothing but issues since I got this miner. First was 7 day delayed shipping due to weather. Then had issues with windows 8 setting up correctly and finally only 2 of 5 cards are working. I am hoping within the next few days I can get that resolved as well.

2  Economy / Goods / Having a baby!!! Selling ASICminer block erupter blade and 1 2012 physical BTC. on: November 26, 2013, 03:53:36 AM
Hi there I am also posting this on eBay, craigslist and a few other smaller places. I will take either paypal (verified only) or bitcoin obviously.

You can PM offers or post here, found out I am having baby number 2 and selling this stuff should pay for just about everything we need for the little one.

I am selling 1 2012 bitcoin in a coin case, seal intact. http://casascius.uberbills.com/ and the coin is 1Cs9oNrR

I spent hours trying to get everything to work, and I couldn't. So my loss your gain. I understand prices may seem high at the moment but on ebay they are going for 10%+ what I am asking here.

Below is the exact ad I am placing elsewhere

Feel free to ask any questions and submit your offers to me

I am selling all my mining equipment

8-Working Blades 10.7 gh/s
2-Non working Blades (Currently on eBay auction)
1-Back-plane for the blades
I also have 2 psu's, 1000W, for the back-plane

Please note 7 blades function at 100% with no problems
I have marked each blade with a number that let me know where to put it in the backplane
Numbers 3,4,5,6,7,9,10 all work at 100% no problems all at 10.7 GH/s no problem
Number 1 has two chips that are not working and it runs around 9.4 GH/s average
Number 2 has its Ethernet port broken off, it came this way I have never been able to access the configuration page nor do I know how to fix it, if you know how to solder well there you go!
Number 8 would never activate, it heats up when plugged into the backplane but does not connect to the configuration page.
2 PSU's work great but I have only one cord, first purchase gets it.
Backplane- All slots work fine no damage runs clean.

I accept paypal or bitcoin only, if paypal I only accept verified accounts in the USA.

Pricing

Units-3,4,5,6,7,9,10-$360+12.95 shipping each
Unit 1 $345 +12.95
Unit 2 and 8 $310 +12.95 each
PSU-$40 each + 6.95 I only have 1 cord
Backplane-$220 +10.95 shipping

Why am I selling?

I purchased this mining set here on eBay. When it arrived I was promised setup help, that I didn't get, With the help of some really nice people on bitcointalk.org I was able to get my system running. However, instead of 10 working blades I had only received 8 and they wont all run at the same time for me. I can run 4 blades at a time (any configuration of blades) and they hash at a little over 41 GH/S average. However if I connect a 5th blade it will work for a few seconds and then kill itself and 2 other blades.

I have had 2 people try and help me with this and it wont work for me. I have spent too many hours and am cutting my loses, everything appears to work. I have two PSU because I bought a second one hoping it was the issue and it wasn't. It could be the backplane but all the slots on the backplane work fine so that also doesn't really make sense. Anyway, I believe in honestly and being open so there it is.

Disclaimer

I will provide you pictures with your specific purchases working. Since these are electronics that will be mailed I cannot guarantee anything once they leave my home. I will wrap them in bubble wrap. Place them in a box and then place that inside the mailing package. If you would like these insured to prevent issues with damaged goods please let me know and I will add it to the invoice. I describe everything as clear as I can so there is no confusion. If you have questions just ask I will answer honestly and openly. All parts are sold as is, I cannot offer you a refund but will give support and direct you to those smarter than me that helped me. They are actually quite easy to set up once you've been walked through the process but for whatever reason only 4 worked at one time.

Lastly

If you want to buy the whole set as is obviously I can offer you a discount. But please understand the issues I have had above. Each piece by itself works but when I connect all my pieces they don't work together. However if you just need a new blade or new psu I am your guy!

Again, don't hesitate to contact me with questions or offers.

3  Other / Beginners & Help / Need help with blade erupter set up. 8 blades total. on: November 19, 2013, 03:54:01 AM
So I have the following that was purchased from eBay. It was working before but is not working (fully) now. Heres the setup

I have

11 ethernet cords
2-5 port switches linksys SE1500
10 blade erupter 10.7 gh/s blades (2 broken)
1 PSU- Its the HP model capable of 850 watts
1 Asus RT-n53 router
internet connection of 30 mbs
my laptop which runs the bfgminer proxy

my laptops IP is 192.168.1.16

Now heres my problem

I had someone help me last night change all the IP addresses so that they are labeled 192.168.1.201...202..203 etc

greenshot

Also what is that x for? The other blades dont show a X

So I am able to connect to each one individually and change the settings as listed above.

They are supposed to connect like this.

Router
         Switch
4 ethernet cables connected to a blade
         Switch
4 ethernet cables connected to a blade

Now since two blades are non functioning thats all I need.

Each switch I put a ethernet cable running from the switch to the router and the other 4 ports are filled with blades.

Heres the real issue

I plug in the power and place the first blade into slot on on the backplane, I then take the ethernet cable from slot 1 on the first switch and plug it in...it works

I do this all the way through the first full switch so I have 4 blades running and they run fine.

Now, If I connect ethernet cable number 1 from the the second switch it will connect and start up in bfgminer but then about 10-20 seconds into it I will start losing hash power and it will kill all but 1 blade.

I then tried connecting the first 4 again and getting them running and then connect a ethernet cable directly from the router into blade number 5 BOOM same freaking problem and it kills all the blades but one.

I have a fan on the blades and they are not hot you can feel heat but with them running over a hour you can touch them and leave your finger on there without any discomfort. So its not heat.

I dont know what to do, I had a guy using teamview that has set up tons of these and he couldnt figure it out. I am at my wits end and the seller is offering no help. His suggestion was to run them without a proxy, my understanding is that if I dont use a proxy they run about 36% efficiency and use up major bandwidth.

I paid $1725 for this rig. I will be asking for a refund on the two blades that are dead. That should leave me with about 84 gh/s but if I cant get the full rig working it was not worth the investment (and Ill probably ask for a full refund through ebay as he told me he would give me setup instructions, which he didnt, and that setup would not take long)

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have spent over 10 hours the last two days just on this.

Oh almost forgot, I tried buying crossover cables (didnt help)
I bought a linksys router as the switches are linksys (didnt help)
