1  Local / Nederlands (Dutch) / Withdrawing in The Netherlands on: July 12, 2015, 02:08:18 PM
Dear Dutch friends, sorry for writing in English but my Dutch is still quite slow! I can read it with no problems though Smiley

As we get closer to a new ATH, what are the options to sell bitcoin? What is more recommendable in terms of laws, are there any banks friendlier than others?
Thanks in advance!

2  Economy / Speculation / I'm regaining the habit of checking btc price first thing in the morning... on: June 30, 2015, 12:47:25 PM
Since about January 2014 I didn't find myself doing this.
It's just a natural impulse, I don't do it consciously, and I'm wondering if deep down my brain is finally hopeful again.

Take that for speculation Grin
3  Economy / Speculation / What would make you really worry? on: March 20, 2015, 05:41:23 PM
I'm pretty confident that this dump won't be long, and I didn't put money I can't lose in bitcoin, so it's not like I'm dead worried right now.
But what would make you doubt the future of bitcoin? I mean a market indicator, news piece, anything.

Looking at the charts, I'd be worried if this week's MACD closes smaller than the last one!
4  Economy / Speculation / This is not "it" on: March 09, 2015, 07:34:20 PM

So I've been seeing quite a lot of positive threads, and the feeling in general is quite bullish.
While I also had the same sentiment, I was recently looking at the charts (Bitstamp, 1 week) and noticed this:

[please excuse my 2 year old paint skills]
[when I say "looking at the charts" I mean it literally, no TA skills whatsoever...]

It seems we're going quite slowly. The last bull markets started quite fast, while these last weeks look more like what anticipated the final "crash" before the real bull run.
So basically, I think we'll still see another crash before the next bubble starts.

5  Economy / Speculation / Weekly MACD is green! on: February 27, 2015, 04:50:39 PM
So beautiful Cheesy
Do you think it will last or is it just a false alarm?

7  Economy / Speculation / Surprise Factor Analysis on: January 12, 2015, 12:11:15 AM
So, I too stare daily at the pretty green and red lines at bitcoinwisdom.
I have no idea what to make of them, and I see them analysed in so many different ways that I won't even try another.

But what I recently realised, reading this forum, is that the most consistent thing I hear, from many users, is "bitcoin always surprises us all".

Thus this poll: what would surprise you if it happened in 2015?
You can choose multiple options, and let me know if you want me to add any.

My personal opinion: in 2014 I was supper sure there would be a big rise by the end of summer. Boo at ridiculous past me. This year, I feel quite confident that we'll have a generally flat market.
Let's see if I get booed at my myself in 2016.

Cheers Smiley
8  Economy / Speculation / Was it ever this hard to hold? on: January 04, 2015, 05:26:22 PM
I bought in before the November '13 bubble, so I've seen lower prices.
I am not selling because I believe bitcoin should be and probably is the future.
I'm not trading because I lack the experience, and don't feel this market is the best to start with.

But still, it feels hard to hold!
For those around for a longer time, was the sentiment ever like this?
9  Economy / Speculation / Is Amazon getting into Bitcoin? on: June 30, 2014, 10:06:00 PM
So I recently was talking about bitcoin with a friend.
And he was telling me that a friend of his (who developed a short lasting bitcoin app) was contacted by Amazon a couple months ago, who apparently wanted to hire him.
He refused the offer, but it seems they were hiring him as a "bitcoin software specialist".

I don't personally know the guy so couldn't ask more questions (it seems they didn't tell him much anyway).

This could be huge, no?
Or could Amazon simply want someone to tell them if it's worth it or not to accept btc?

Thought it was worth sharing!
Cheers  Cool

Think about it:

- It's already omnipresent
- It's about to become omnipotent
- The blockchain means it's also potentially omniscient

11  Economy / Economics / Can we help bitcoin by sending emails to companies? on: June 09, 2014, 10:54:15 PM
I was thinking what could I do to help bitcoin grow.

Maybe simply sending an email to a company asking if they accept or think of accepting bitcoin would be a great start.
Imagine, if you're a not so big company and suddenly receive 5-10 emails about it, I bet you'll consider the option.
And worst case scenario, you will have heard the word bitcoin and hopefully learn a bit about it.

15  Local / Esquina Libre / Por qué bitcoin en femenino? on: June 01, 2014, 08:48:01 PM
He visto ya un montón de veces escrito "la" bitcoin, tanto en español como en portugués.
Por qué considerarlo nombre femenino? Si es el dollar, el euro...
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Blockchain in Russian??? on: May 21, 2014, 12:22:29 PM
Lately whenever I open the blockchain.info webpage, it automatically comes in Russian.

I'm not Russian.
I was never in Russia.
I can't read Russian.

I tried switching the language with the flag dropdown menu, and it works... except that when I move to another page of the website it appears in Russian again...

Do they want that bad to attract Russian buyers?

 Huh
17  Economy / Economics / How to get the money when 1 BTC = loads? on: May 11, 2014, 06:27:00 PM
So when BTC reaches an astronomical value and one wants to withdraw a portion to have some pocket cash... How to do it? Which country is best in terms of not getting a huge tax? Would you take the amount you want straight away or little by little? Sell it in some other way?
18  Economy / Speculation / NY bitcoin hearing in some hours - how will it affect price? on: January 28, 2014, 12:36:12 PM
So this is happening in some hours:

How do you think it will influence price? Or it won't affect it at all?
Last time there was a public hearing we went to the moon...  Grin

20  Other / Beginners & Help / When will mBTC or Satoshi become the main unit used in exchange websites? on: November 15, 2013, 03:14:41 PM
Hello all!
I'm new to this forum and quite a late Bitcoin buyer (beginning 2013).

I really believe in it, and I've been trying to persuade friends and family to buy them, as I'm sure they will be worth more with time.
However, most people around me don't have a lot of money to invest, so buying one Bitcoin at todays' $450 price is just too much. And they seem to not like the idea of investing less and having like 0.1 Bitcoin.

So, don't you think MtGox, Bitstamp, etc. should start using the mBTC (maybe it's too soon for Satoshi) as the unit in which people introduce the amount they want to buy? I know it wouldn't change anything, I just think psychologically people (the newbies/not so informed ones) would be more likely to invest in having 100 mBTC than 0.1 BTC.
