3  Economy / Speculation / The Jig is Up? on: January 06, 2015, 06:16:49 PM
Mt Gox fraud, now a probable theft at Stamp...I was just thinking about re-entering btc, but I'm going to sit out for a while longer.  Does anyone think btc can recover and be a legitimate, and not frowned upon payment system??  Or is the nature of btc doomed to fail?

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Venmo App part of Bitcoin Downfall? on: December 02, 2014, 04:51:50 PM
I was told about the app "Venmo" where you can send money for free though an app on your phone.  Its very easy, a lot easier than using btc.  One of the big things btc supporters tout is how easy it is to send money, well this app does just that.  Does anyone else think apps/companies like this are slowly making btc useless?

11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Does bitcoin solve more problems than it creates? on: October 08, 2014, 12:49:20 PM
Problems with btc:
1. wild, unstable exchange rate
2. difficulty to obtain and use (for most people)
3. getting coins hacked or lost by sending to wrong address
4. fraud/theft at exchanges (if it happened at Gox it could happen anywhere)
5. it enables criminals to get paid online
6. there are already plenty of ways to send money online a lot easier, it doesnt really do anything new
7. absolutely no buyer protection
8. scam companies/scammers
feel free to add to this list ^^

good things:
1. cheap way to send money
2. only 21 mil ever in circulation

So why should more people start using btc?  It seems the cons outweigh the pros.
12  Economy / Speculation / Stop using the term "weak hands" on: October 03, 2014, 02:13:37 PM
Most people here have deluded themselves into thinking btc is going to skyrocket sue to "imminent mass adoption!"  Clearly this is not the case, and lots of former bulls are now facing the facts and turning bearish.  One of the ways people tell themselves they are right is saying anyone who sells is a "weak hand."  Funny because you should be calling them "smart hands."

I'll admit I had high hopes for btc, but the last bubble has no reason to repeat itself: There's no new money coming in from anywhere in the world, adoption by merchants just essentially creates lots of sell pressure, and the media is doing its job scaring people away from btc by associating it with illegal activity.

Also, what happens if another exchange (maybe btc-e??) goes down.  BTC couldnt handle that.

Good luck to holders though.
13  Economy / Services / 3D CAD Design Available on: September 30, 2014, 03:56:06 PM
Need something rendered in 3D or dimensioned drawings?  Let me know!  Rates negotiable depending on project!
14  Other / Archival / [sold] on: September 18, 2014, 12:18:46 AM
Have 3 Silver Wallets coins for sale, house expenses force the sale of the these.  They all come exactly as I recieved them, in mint condition and with the coin holder & 3 holograms.

All are limited editions, as you can see I've got:

Design 1 Gold B - #006 - Asking $190
Design 2 - #008 - Asking $100
Design 1 Non-numbered - Asking $80

They all look incredible and would grade very high, pics don't do these justice, I really hate to sell these.  I believe the numbers available to the public started at #004, so these are some of the lowest numbered coins you could get. International shipping is available.

15  Economy / Speculation / Can BTC hold at at any level? on: September 17, 2014, 01:58:39 PM
I mean there are lots of new merchants accepting BTC, and people spending BTC when they do, but essentially that is just like a lot of selling pressure.  There is no new money coming in from anywhere in the world despite claims that India or Dubai will fuel the next "bubble."

Also it seems most anyone who invested in the last 10 months is regretting it and will not risk losing money with BTC again, leaving less and less people using it.

Seems like a lot of blind optimism especially in this forum, but I now don't see any reason price will go up rather than down.

18  Economy / Trading Discussion / Coinbase ACH Transfer delays!! on: August 28, 2014, 12:45:49 PM
Was expecting a deposit testerday from selling some BTC on coinbase.  Talked to their support and all they said was "there are some ACH delays, sorry."  No email warning.  It was a small sell order, but their email clearly says my deposit would be in by the 27th.  How hard would it be to send an email and at least let customers know whats going on?Huh??
