1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Solo Mined Block Addresses on: January 19, 2014, 11:14:39 AM
Quick question...

I have 7 miners using the same wallet while solo mining... one miner is hosting the wallet and the other 6 are pointed at the host... all miners are synced, on the same block, same difficulty, same time, etc... but I am only getting 2 unique addresses for the blocks I have mined... below is a screenshot... notice the two addressess... one starting with 5hpwxxx and the other starting with 5apHxxxx

I would have expected to find 7 unique addresses... only 2 addresses... does that mean that 5 of my miners are sending blocks elsewhere... or is this normal?

This is the first time I have solo mined in this configuration... so not sure what to expect.

Thanks!

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is There Anything Fundamentally Wrong With EarthCoin? on: December 23, 2013, 08:17:44 AM
I am fairly new to the Alt-coin scene, but see a real potential in EarthCoin. But before I get too much invested in EAC, the question I am posing to the experts is -

Is there any fundamental flaws with EarthCoin?

I am not referring to the pre-mine or the supposedly questionable dev team, but I am asking about the technical and mechanical characteristics of the coin... block time, confirms, security, anonymity, transaction fees, algorithm, long-term network health, DDOS, 51% attack, etc and etc. There is a lot I do not know about crypto-coins and I know that some coins have special features, such as the 51% attack shielding of GLD, quick transaction times of some coins, transaction messages, etc and etc. I know that EarthCoin does not bring any new innovations to the alt-coin scene, but is the coin solid and well-built for everyday usage.

Thanks!
4  Other / Beginners & Help / A Farmer Investigating Crypto-Currency... on: November 22, 2013, 04:30:01 AM
Good day,

I am a small, organic fruit and veggie farmer located in the Southern Highlands of NSW and am considering adding crypto-currency as a possible method of payment for our produce. I am also experimenting with mining on a very small scale with the farm computers that sit idle for long periods of time. I know very little about crypto-currencies, so just learning and investigating the how this could be done and if it would be viable.

We provide regular deliveries to the Sydney basin and attend a several farmers markets in Sydney and the Highlands each weekend with our produce. The farm has been operating since 2008 and is a small operation with organic certification and a goal of sustainable food production.

If anyone is interesting helping with this project in any way, as a customer, consultant, etc, contact me via PM.

Thanks!

Edit - Apologies on the geographic vagueness... the farm is located in NSW, Australia and our primary market is Sydney, Australia.
