1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / GPU cooler fan replacement on: February 20, 2017, 01:09:39 AM
GPU cooler fan replacement

I'm getting tired of replacing fans on GPUs.  So, I am hoping to get some links to some products that any AMD GPU alt. cryptocurrency miners have bought to replace their GPU coolers.

I have thought of a few ways to do this:

1. a.  Use an external manual fan control,
https://www.amazon.com/Channel-3-Pin-Cooling-Controller-Support/dp/B01A45R3JG/ref=sr_1_14?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1483891081&sr=1-14&keywords=12+DC+fan+voltage+controller#Ask

b.  Remove the cooler and use cable ties to attach a replacement fan blowing into the GPU,
https://www.amazon.com/Swellder-FFB0912VHE-92mmx38mm-Cooling-Brushless/dp/B00XDXNCHY/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1483891783&sr=1-1&keywords=DC+Fan+92mm+x+92mm+x+38mm+12V+3+pin

2.  Use the same fans but attach them to the motherboard, I use Asrock, to the chassis and power fan connections, and use Asrock's AXTU to control the fans.

So, let's hear it.  Who's already done this and what did you use?

2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Credit Card Processor --> Bitcoin Wallet on: July 16, 2015, 02:07:14 PM
Hi ,
I am wondering if there are Credit Card Processors that accept credit card transactions for businesses that automatically payout to a bitcoin wallet.
Does anyone know of a processor that will do that?

I just heard Alex Trebek ask the question something like "Magic The Gathering Exchange in 2014 had a scandal involving which commodity?"
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Low HW (hardware) errors in cgminer on: January 21, 2014, 12:20:05 PM
Is this a problem, or not?

I have 2 open crate mining rigs identical with 4 Sapphire Radeon HD7970s the OC with boost.  Both rigs run cgminer with Win7-64.  Both hash great at about 730 Kh/s at 79 degrees.  No complaints there.  But each rig on GPU 3's card gets about 1 HW error a day.  Is this normal?  Should I try to change anything?

here is bat:

Quote
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://gigahash.wemineltc.com:3334 -u pool user name.1 -p password --thread-concurrency 8192
 --intensity 13 --queue 0 --worksize 256 --auto-fan --temp-target 80 --temp-overheat 90 --temp-cutoff 95 --gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-vddc 1.2 --no-submit-stale -g 2 --lookup-gap 2

p.s. I have undervolted before but I am leaving at 1.2v until HW errors are resolved.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Need help with SAPPHIRE HD 7970 3GB GDDR5 OC with Boost on: January 05, 2014, 05:15:26 PM
This card is driving me nuts.  I cannot get over 550Kh/s no matter what I do with cgminer 3.5 or 3.7.2

Model number: SAPPHIRE HD Radeon 11197-03-40G

Here is the BIOS for this card: Sapphire.HD7970.3072.120925.rom
bios p/n as reported by AtiFlash is 113-2104XTHY-0B5

Rig is Win 7 64 prof.  4GB 1066 Corsair DDR3 in AsRock 790 Extreme3 MB, Rosewill LIGHTNING-1300, 4 riser cables, Sempron 145, SSD HD.  Rig never gets too hot in crate with huge fan constantly circulating.

Current cgminer config (although I have tried just about everything):

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://gigahash.wemineltc.com:3334 -u UUUUUUUU.1 -p PPPPPPP --shaders 2048 --thread-concurrency 10240 --intensity 13 --queue 0 --worksize 256 --gpu-fan 50 --gpu-engine 1075 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-vddc 1.125 --gpu-powertune 20 --no-submit-stale -g 2 -v 1 --lookup-gap 2

I have moved the switch to the 1 setting for flashable ROM on all 4 cards.  I flashed ROM with 3 older versions of Sapphire HD Radeon 7970 bioses, 2 crash and other 1 is no change.  I did this test on GPM #2.

Please advise.  Thanks.

7  Bitcoin / Electrum / Need help - confused on: December 06, 2013, 07:22:42 PM
Please forgive my newbiness.  I have successfully created an offline wallet system and am ready to send a payment.  I saved the transaction, loaded it into my offline computer, signed it, saved and have reopened the saved transaction in the online wallet computer.  This is where I am confused.  I am attempting to send 1 BTC to an address and that address shows up under Outputs.  The problem is that the BALANCE of my wallet ALSO shows up under Outputs with an address that I did not enter.  I went to Bitcoin Blockchain explorer, entered the address that I didn't recognize and it said "No transactions found for this address, it has probably not been used on the network yet."

Is this correct?  Or if I hit save am I going to send the balance of my wallet to someone?

Please advise and thanks in advance!
