1  Economy / Computer hardware / Rig/Parts for Sale on: July 16, 2014, 04:21:09 PM
Hi folks, I'm trying to sell my rig or at least parts of it:

Here are the specs for my rig:

3 x ASUS R9280X-DC2T-3GD5 Radeon R9 280X 3GB 384-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

1 x LEPA G1200-MA 1200W ATX12V / EPS12V CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Power Supply

1 x ASRock MB-970EX4 Socket AM3+/ AMD 970/ AMD Quad CrossFireX& nVidia SLI/ SATA3&USB3.0/ A&GbE/ ATX Motherboard

1 x AMD Sempron 145 Processor (SDX145HBGMBOX)

I bought this rig in February or something like that. It ran off and on until about a month ago. I had to keep turning it off because we were out of the house so much and my wife was uncomfortable leaving it on while we were not there. It ran VERY cool (70's and low 80's) the whole time.

I will give you the whole rig, which includes the above, plus the custom case I built (not too pretty but functional), the wifi usb stick if you want it, the OS flash drive, and 4 GB of PC3 12800 Platinum Series memory for $900 or your best offer.

If you would rather buy individual parts, I'll give them to you at least 35% less than I paid for each.

Please let me know if you are interested!

Hello,

Is this the forum where I can post my rig for sale?

If so, please let me know and I'll list the specs. If not, please tell me which forum to post in.

Thanks!

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Where/How to Sell My Rig? on: June 15, 2014, 02:34:42 AM
Hi folks,

Looking to sell my GPU rig, as a whole or in pieces. Selling it for what I feel is a pretty decent price, I think. I was wondering if there is a sub-forum on here set up for that, and which one? If not, can I get recommendations on the best place to sell my stuff, as well as how people normally go about setting up a trusted 3rd party for the sale? I've never done anything like this before, so please forgive the newb-ish questions.

Will sell individual parts for the right price, too, as I know that there probably aren't many people looking to buy GPU mining stuff now. PM me for more info.

Thanks!

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Troubleshooting Video Cards That Stop Mining?? on: February 07, 2014, 11:43:55 PM
Hi folks,

I've built a mining rig that runs pretty well most of the time. It's got 3 x Asus 280x in it, on a 1200W PSU and the same mobo and CPU that cryptobadger recommends in his tutorial for building your own rig.

My cards just stopped mining. Fans are still spinning. Still have connectivity. But they won't mine. How can I go about troubleshooting this problem? I'm using BAMT and have zero clue how to troubleshoot anything with Linux.

Thanks for your help!

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ATTENTION coinpool_de! PLEASE READ THIS!!! on: February 03, 2014, 03:42:42 PM
Please, sir, respond to your "24/7" support email for help at coinpool.de! I am locked out of your site and cannot get in with that URL that it emails to you because it says "expired token", no matter how many times I try! If you're going to promise 24/7 support, you should follow through!
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / 24/7 Service My A$$!! on: February 03, 2014, 02:27:53 PM
Hey everyone,

I know this is a long shot, but I'm pretty desperate here. I locked myself out of one of my accounts from fat-fingering my password a few times, so it sent me an email to auto-unlock by clicking the URL, and I got a "token expired" message. It said to try again, so I did.. about 100 times! No joy. So I emailed the guy who runs the site asking him to get me in (username on here is coinpool.de). His site claims "24/7 support" by just sending an email to info@coinpool.de. I sent him two emails to that address and one to his user account here. No response.

Anyway, does anyone happen to have another way to get in touch with this guy?? This is really starting to piss me off.

Thanks!

7  Economy / Marketplace / Cryptsy's Portfolio Value Feature on: January 27, 2014, 04:36:31 AM
Does anyone know when the HELL cryptsy will have their portfolio value feature back?? They took it down a couple weeks ago or so. Then I tweeted them a few days later and asked when it would be back up. They said "couple days". I waited 3 or 4 days.. nothing. So I tweeted them a few more times, and they're ignoring me. This is very frustrating. Anyone have info on this??

If this should be in another sub-forum, let me know and I'll be glad to move it.

Thanks!

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / BAMT Hashrates vs cgminer on: January 22, 2014, 01:17:10 AM
Hi folks,

I'm using BAMT to mine, and I noticed that the BAMT interface reflects different hashrates than the cgminer console. Why is it like that and which one is more accurate? Anyone know?

EDIT: I just realized that the rates are the same, but I was looking at the wrong number? I don't really know exactly what this is, but I have numbers that look like this, for instance:

"778.2K/742.5Kh/s"

What do those numbers mean? I'm guessing the one on the right is my hashrate. But what is on the left?

Thanks!

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Multi-pool Hopping Script? on: January 17, 2014, 04:02:58 AM
Hi friends,

Does anyone have a script, or know of one, that I can have cgminer look at that will choose the most profitable coin to mine from several sites and then mine that coin on the first site that has that coin in their pool? For instance, I've noticed that TAG is often more profitable to mine than, say DOGE, but TAG is no longer on multipool. So during the times when TAG is more profitable, I'd like cgminer to stop mining DOGE, for instance, and switch to another pool that is mining TAG.

Any help?
10  Bitcoin / Mining / Storage Crate Issues?? on: January 16, 2014, 12:56:48 AM
Hi folks,

So I'm building my first rig following the basic steps of cryptobadger's tutorial. But my milk crates have a problem, or rather a couple of them. First, the edges where I would screw down the GPUs have a little wall (so it’s an ‘L’ shape facing out.. ya dig?), so I can’t screw them directly to the edge of the crate. Also, when resting the brace on the crate, the bracket of the GPU is not level with any edges. Here is the model I’m using:

Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / WOW! on: January 15, 2014, 03:19:50 AM
A show called "Person of Interest" (in a new episode) just had a scene with someone talking about "Bitcoin" and people's use of it in an online drug market. Bitcoin was started by an anonymous person they call "Sphynx" or some nonsense. Anyway, pretty cool! Cheesy
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Profitability on: January 12, 2014, 06:03:51 PM
Looks like mining profitability is going down, and fast. Is there any reason to think it will still be profitable to mine altcoins one month from now, and/or that profitability will go back up?

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Advice?? on: January 08, 2014, 04:59:04 PM
I've got about 80% of my relatively small investment (but still hurts to see it vanish!) in altcoins. I'm looking at cryptsy, and it seems like ALL of my coins are tanking! How did I manage to get in at the very TOP of every friggin' coin?? lol

If I get out now, I take what amounts to about a 40-50 percent loss. But I'm afraid if I wait, I'll lose it all.

Yeah I know a lot of you are having the same problem.

Anyone know why the hell so many altcoins are tanking? Or if it is likely to reverse??

Everyone reading.. please vote.. sell, hold, or buy more??
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Difficulty and Profitability Sites on: January 06, 2014, 06:56:25 PM
Is there a single site out there that truly stays up-to-date on difficulty and profitability for mining?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Meme Coin Mining Difficulty on: January 05, 2014, 01:35:20 AM
Hello,

Can someone please tell me what the current difficulty for mining MEM is? Every website I look at says something different. The site wheretomine has reflected about .6 difficulty for over a week. I know it has to have changed in a week.

Thanks!

16  Other / Beginners & Help / Meme Coin Mining Difficulty on: January 04, 2014, 07:44:47 PM
Anyone know what MEM mining difficulty is right now? Every site I go to lists something different! The site wheretomine says it updates every 5 minutes, but it's had the same difficulty listed for MEM for the last week or so. lol

Any help is greatly appreciated!

17  Other / Meta / "Last Post" Nonsense on: January 04, 2014, 07:32:15 PM
I keep trying to post in the Newbie forum, and every time I do, it tells me my last post was less than 180 seconds ago. This happens even though I haven't posted in at least a week.

How can I fix this?
Thanks!

18  Other / Beginners & Help / Moving USD in and out of exchanges on: November 29, 2013, 04:56:28 AM
Hi folks,

I keep reading that moving USD from one exchange to another is "painfully slow".

How slow is that? Are we talking 30 min.. 3 hours, days, weeks?

Can I get more specifics on this, please?

Thanks!

19  Other / Beginners & Help / Variances among prices on different sites on: November 26, 2013, 09:46:07 PM
Hi folks,

Sorry if this has already been answered.

Why is there such a large difference between the price of BTC at one site vs. the price at another site? For instance, the price at BTC-e right at the moment is 855, while the price at bitstamp is 883.50? What's to stop people from continuously buying at BTC-e and selling at bitstamp?

Thanks for your help!
James
