1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / [Pre-Ann] Web3 digital marketing project - team creation on: December 20, 2023, 08:21:39 PM
Patent pending on this project

Looking for team members that have digital ad experience, escrow smart contract experience, influencer management experience.

60-90 days to utility token launch

You cannot be currently involved in any security tokens (as defined by the SEC), unless your token has proper SEC paperwork in place.

Full, public self-Doxxing a requirement before token launch for all token holders, ie your public profile will be on our website.

A real-name resume is also required for consideration. This is a serious project that will have traditional funding within 6 months and all utility token activities and major contributors will need to pass additional vetting which is why I am mandating it up front.

I am posting on bitcointalk because this site is near and dear to my heart.
2  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / mining empty blocks on: June 28, 2019, 06:14:54 AM
A couple of years ago empty blocks started to pop up and i never heard a good reason that this would ever happen. The best argument was that it was slightly faster so miners would do it.

I am curious does mining an empty block provide an advantage in solving blocks in any way. For example, maybe the block header is unchanged for an empty block even as new blocks are mined. A miner could simply try and solve the same block indefinitely until the solution is found and they they can stick the empty block into the chain and receive the reward.... Would this somehow provide an advantage over people trying to solve full blocks?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Besides Dash, what are the top 10 coins to stake? on: November 22, 2017, 04:31:55 AM
I missed the Dash master node boat.... so what are the most stable coins that have a similar master node, stake reward type of protocol.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / PM me if you are a dev with a track record and want a new project on: November 09, 2017, 12:42:43 AM
Interviewing for ICO dev candidates: white paper, website, business plan in place. Primary funding in place, but considering dev candidates. Considerable equity stake is a possibility.

You will need to provide me with some type of cv and proof of identity. Your name would be your real name on our website and documentation.
5  Economy / Speculation / Institutions changing Bitcoin forever on: November 01, 2017, 02:11:26 AM
1. Bitcoin's price while historically high is peanuts for institutions. Bitcoin is 1/8th the price of AAPL (Apple corporation). An 8th the price of one stupid tech stock.... just let that sink in. Bitcoin sustaining a price of $6k is trivial even laughable.
2. Massive wealth has been made in the past 3 years with smart money chasing crypto currency. Big money is insanely jealous of other big money that performs better than they do. They all think they are the smartest people on the planet. Their egos have no bounds.
3. Bitcoin has had clear continuous buying pressure for three years. Why? Because big money is buying everything at every single dip. The dips keep getting smaller and smaller. They are not selling, they are buying and if there is a sell cycle it is only to shake out small money who are so excited to make their $100k.

There are not going to be 21 million coins, millions are lost already. Most people on this forum in two years will not own a single bitcoin because the pressure to sell will be just too high and the price will seem so high that nobody will dare to buy one.

Institutions don't care about price, they care about markets, manipulation, control and dominance. If you don't understand what is happening, then you will get shaken out and be left wondering what the hell happened as you watch all of the rich take control of ALL of the bitcoin.

Bitcoin is going to $100k. Then it will won't stop until it gets to $500k just like McAfee has predicted. Any and all dips are just an effort to strip you of your future wealth as you try and secure your precious 2 year gains.

Don't say you weren't warned.

6  Bitcoin / Hardware / electricity questions on: October 14, 2017, 09:20:37 PM
1. I have a Spondoolies SP30, which says it will take both 110v and 220v.... Is this actually correct?
2. If it takes 220V, why are my two power plugs, the standard USA 110V male plugs and not 220v plugs? Do I have to buy different plugs/cables for a 220V outlet? If so, does anyone have an example of such a plug, I cannot find a plug that has a server style female to anything other than a standard 110V male that goes into the wall.
3. I want to use a dyer plug that is a 4 prong plug to power my 220V miner. Has anyone done this? Should I just replace the 4 Prong outlet with a standard USA 100V plug? Then plug my miner into that? I am concerned this has some types of issues I am not aware of because I am not an electrician at all.

Please don't lecture me on the dangers of screwing with electricity. If you know the answers, please tell me otherwise, keep your opinions to yourself.
7  Bitcoin / Mining support / Spondoolie SP31 not getting an IP address on: September 07, 2017, 10:01:44 PM
I am running a Spondoolie SP31 using 110V. I have an ethernet that I know works plugged into the miner, but my ASUS router is not assigning an IP address that I can tell. My Titan shows up just fine on this router with an IP. However, the Spondoolie never gets an IP. Lights are blinking on both the router and the miner as though the connection is active.

How do i debug this problem?
8  Economy / Speculation / Low price, come on people it doesn't have anything to do with scalability on: February 04, 2016, 03:49:38 AM
China markets have tanked, US markets have tanked, the world economy is in turmoil, but in the last month bitcoin price does nothing but tank.

People that seek to escape plunging currencies and crappy investments don't really care about something like how many txns a day can bitcoin handle without a fee, they can't even put it in context. If we had any market fleeing stocks or China we would see a massive jump in price, but we see the price decline... why?

SOMETHING ELSE is keeping the price down. Something tells me we are in the middle of a massive attack on Bitcoin and don't even realize it.... Govts, alt competitors, miner thieves, sidechain master manipulators.... who knows

Scalability could be solved tomorrow and we would likely go down another $5. The halving is going to come and go and we are going to be worth $225 a coin.

Please provide answers that ARE NOT about scalability. Thanks!
9  Bitcoin / Mining support / New S7 with Bitmain power supply.... what am i missing on: January 27, 2016, 11:31:36 PM
I just got an S7 and power supply from Bitmain.

I bought the APW3-12-1600-B2 1600 watt power supply from Bitmain.

I did the following:

1. Connected the board to the power supply, all 10 PCI cables are attached. I have done nothing with the smaller wire pairs coming out of the power supply, see image below.
2. Connected Ethernet
3. I plugged the power chord into the power supply and the power supply starts immediately. The S7 sits silently and dark as night.....

Here is the image of the cabling coming out of the APW3-12-1600-B2.

Is this as simple as the "hidden" on/off switch somewhere on the miner?
Is there something about those two wire pairs coming out of the APW3-12-1600-B2 that I don't understand?

What am i missing here?
10  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin is a real life super hero drama unfolding before our eyes on: January 22, 2016, 05:56:34 AM
Satoshi - the mystical sage
Gavin - the reluctant apprentice
Theymos - the sidekick badass
Hearn - the distracting do-gooder
Gregory - the unappreciated super power getting tired of his lack of influence and respect

I think this is going to do play out as one for the ages..... there is a power vacuum and my vote is that there will be a second coming of Satoshi...!
11  Other / Meta / What happens to bitcointalk if classic is adopted? on: January 21, 2016, 02:33:10 PM
I can't help but wonder. I also think this forum has run its course.....
12  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / sticky/wiki for new devs???? on: January 12, 2016, 05:37:09 PM
Is there a sticky\wiki post anywhere in this forum or elsewhere for new devs. Reading list, projects to get started, topics to learn.......

Thanks!
13  Economy / Speculation / Why next pump might be completely different on: January 07, 2016, 03:13:48 AM
So far the largest financial crisis to impact Bitcoin has been Cyprus. What a tiny tiny tiny tiny little country.

What happens when China plummets...........
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / KNCMiner Titan scrypt, what to do on: January 06, 2016, 02:25:38 AM
I am profitable with my Titan and have just been ignoring my haul for around a year. I had lots of fun the first few months blowing the hash rates to hell on every scrypt coin, but i got bored with that.

Where should I point my Titan these days. Anyone have any suggestions on how to have some fun with all my scrypt hashing power?
15  Economy / Speculation / Mega Miners, these last two years on: January 06, 2016, 02:22:37 AM
We are obviously in the mega-miner era of Bitcoin, however, I wonder how long it will last. I think if we continue the era of the mega miner bitcoin may likely be doomed.

What will end the mega miner phenomenon, when no coins are available to mine???  What has to change for mining operations to be smaller. Does Bitcoin have to crash? The bigger the price, it seems it only encourages larger capital to invest in their own fabrication and mining.

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / largest GPU mining pool on: January 01, 2016, 08:39:13 PM
What is the largest pool mining with GPU? Don't care about the coin
17  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / decentralization solutions on: December 31, 2015, 08:31:01 PM
What legit solutions are on the table to decentralize mining?

You join a pool because the probability of you personally solving a block is astronomically small? You trust a pool to give you a share because so many other people are trusting the same pool. The pool tracks your work and pays you accordingly.

Can we achieve the same result with tweaked model rather than current pools.

For example, a group miners individually using the best possible mining software, where everyone agrees to pay solved blocks to the group. Then we use smart contracts and proof of work mechanisms to enforce this relationship?

Is this possible? If not, what are the legit solutions to this decentralization problem?

18  Economy / Exchanges / Gox bankruptcy status??? on: December 22, 2015, 07:41:35 PM
Any news on Gox bankruptcy status?

Thanks!
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / satoshi addresses on: December 13, 2015, 10:34:24 PM
Who watches his addresses??? How will we know when if/when any are moved?
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Biggest bitcoin scams, sucker confessional on: November 12, 2015, 02:59:13 PM
I decided to start this thread to help me with closure on my personal bitcoin I-am-a-sucker for getting scammed sins.

Gox:

Even though most of 2013 there were warnings about Gox, I still wanted to join the party regardless of the risks. So, I deposited money into Gox with a wire transfer in Oct 2013, I made the mistake of using my business checking account to transfer money to my personal Gox account. It got stuck in Gox processing hell for four months. The very day Gox notified me my funds were available Gox had stopped processing BTC withdrawals. I actually do believe I screwed up my transfer, but Gox did screw me in the end.

Spoofed mining web site:

I got sucked into the stupidity of mining and had been trolling mining websites regularly. A spoof site for a reasonable deal on a miner showed up in my late night bitcoin internet circle jerk and for a reason I still cannot fathom I paid that jackass spoof site my precious bitcoin so I could get a return 10 months later. Of course, 10 seconds after I sent him my bitcoin is when I asked myself it was a legit website, which of course it wasn't...... God help me.

Altcoins dreams:

In the past 24 months I have lost probably 20 Bitcoins to my pathetic alt coin dreams chasing scam coins to their ultimate bottom: Megacoin, Anon, Ethereum, Doge.

How I sleep at night:

I transferred BTC I bought locally into Gox in 2013 and doubled my BTC holding above the cash value I lost, I withdrew all my balance two months before the end. I consider myself so fortunate for pulling that off. I keep BTC off exchanges as much as possible now.
I did buy a miner that has paid itself in full and is paying me a little less than a bitcoin a month still. But I won't do it again. NEVER spend more than $100 in bitcoin when you are tired or drunk. NEVER.
I made 40 BTC on altcoins, I still think they are scams and I am done with them. One might rise up and challenge Bitcoin but the altcoin world is a septic pool of villains.

I am hoping this post provides me the closure I so desperately need. If you too would like to confess your stupid sucker crypto currency sins and lessons learned, feel free to do so.
