1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Please Explain on: August 11, 2018, 07:34:34 AM
I dont really get you guy's whenever you encounter situation like this you panic because the price goes down.

If you really trust this technology why are you losing your hope everytime there is  a small storm coming on bitcoin? Panicking makes you blind on what you really need to do, Instead of investing more because it is a good opportunity to buy you are selling your bitcoin's and taking your loss.  Cheesy

This is what those whales really want to happen wait for the price dump and take that opportunity to invest more while you are selling your bitcoin on cheaper prices.

I hope this post will enlighten your mind.  Smiley

5  Economy / Economics / Bill Gates says crypto-currencies cause deaths on: March 01, 2018, 03:39:49 PM
I just saw this news, For me its always the choice of an individual in how people will use the technology, many of the technologies can make an easy way to do bad things in life but it is the choice of the people, if they use it in a bad way, they will suffer for their selves.

Crypto-currencies are killing people in a "fairly direct way", Microsoft founder Bill Gates has said.

He was referring to the way digital currencies like Bitcoin are used to buy drugs like synthetic opioid fentanyl.

In an "ask me anything" session on news website Reddit, he said that the anonymity of digital currencies meant they were linked to terrorist funding and money laundering.

Some criticised him, saying he was ill-informed about the technology.

Asked by one user for his opinion on the technology, Mr Gates replied: "The main feature of crypto-currencies is their anonymity. I don't think this is a good thing. The government's ability to find money laundering and tax evasion and terrorist funding is a good thing.

"Right now, crypto-currencies are used for buying fentanyl and other drugs so it is a rare technology that has caused deaths in a fairly direct way. I think the speculative wave around ICOs [initial coin offerings] and crypto-currencies is super risky for those who go long."

6  Economy / Economics / European Commission Roundtable: Blockchain Holds Promise. on: February 26, 2018, 02:23:04 PM
I just read this news and caught my attention.

European Commission Roundtable: Blockchain ‘Holds Promise,’ Investors Must Know Risks

The European Commission has hosted a roundtable titled “Cryptocurrencies - Opportunities and Risks,” covering the influence of crypto on financial markets and problems arising with Initial Coin Offerings (ICO) Monday, Feb. 26.

The roundtable was chaired by Valdis Dombrovskis, the Commission’s Vice-President in charge of Financial Stability, Financial Services and the Capital Markets Union.

The Commission’s press release described the event as a place for European Union organizations, countries, central banks, academics, and entrepreneurs to “respond to the challenges posed by so-called cryptocurrencies (virtual currencies) and their underlying Blockchain technology.”

The conference was broken up into three themes: crypto and financial markets, investor protection and market integrity, and ICOs.

After the roundtable concluded, Dombrovskis told the press that since Europe has such a small share of crypto trading, which he referred to as a “global phenomenon,” the next step is a discussion of the same topics at the G20 level, echoing the opinions of French and European Central Bank’s officials.

He told one journalist that he would also not exclude the possibility of moving ahead on regulation at an EU level, pending future events in the crypto world.

He added that “Blockchain technology holds strong promise for financial markets,” and that steps must be made to not hinder technological innovation.

Dombrovskis repeated the EU regulators’ previous stance on the risks involved in investing and trading in crypto at the end of his roundtable press debrief, saying that “warnings about those risks to consumers, to investors, must be clear, frequent, and across all jurisdictions.”

Last Friday, Austria’s Finance Minister Hartwig Löger spoke about his idea for basing crypto regulations on those already in place for gold and derivatives, as well as possible pan-European Union crypto regulations on this basis.

A fintech action plan is expected to be presented by the European Commission in early March.

7  Economy / Economics / Bringing Crypto to Shipping on: February 21, 2018, 04:29:43 AM
In the latest effort to continue this expansion, the Prime Shipping Foundation has announced its intention to launch its cryptocurrency for use in the shipping industry.

A partnership between financial planning company Quorum Capital Ltd and ship broker Interchart LLC, Prime Shipping Foundation has already made considerable inroads in bringing cryptocurrency into the shipping and food trading industry late last year.

In December 2017, Prime Shipping became the first to settle a freight deal in bitcoin, accepting payment in the leading cryptocurrency for the 3,000 tons of wheat that it shipped from Russia to Turkey.

I just read this new, and start thinking what is the effect of this to BTC and other crypto's.
