1  Economy / Digital goods / WTB $35 Amazon Gift Card for $23 worth of BTC on: May 25, 2014, 07:51:54 PM
As the title says, I am looking to buy Amazon Gift Card. I am a trusted buyer with multiple transactions (If you look at my profile "Trust" section, you can see multiple reviews). I'd prefer someone who has the same ranking as me (Full Member) or higher with a positive trust review also. If not, I would like the seller to send first. If escrow is desired, any fees will be delegated to the seller.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / SATOSHI_KEY ECDSA on: May 04, 2014, 01:48:25 AM
How do I get SATOSHI_KEY? I've been looking everywhere but if I want to look for the SATOSHI_KEY for altcoins, forked from bitcoin, where should I look? I know bitcoin is 04fc9702847840aaf195de8442ebecedf5b095cdbb9bc716bda9110971b28a49e0ead8564ff0db2 2209e0374782c093bb899692d524e9d6a6956e7c5ecbcd68284. Where should I look to find this hex for altcoins?

After installing, every time I tried to open it, the wallet crashes.

Here was my step-by-step process on what I did from start:

1. Download files from github. Site: https://github.com/schildbach/bitcoin-wallet Method: Direct download (not terminal)
2. Go to bitcoin-wallet directory
3. mvn clean install -Prelease -Dandroid.sdk.path=<path to your android sdk>
4. mvn eclipse:eclipse
5. Open Eclipse and Import > General > [Directory of my bitcoin-wallet] > [Showed 3 folders, sample-integration, integration, wallet. Imported integration and wallet] >Finish
6. Showed about 36 Errors which were missing jars so imported that from my .m2/repository directory along with source .jar.
7. Ran it (came across this: Unable to execute dex: Multiple dex files define). Fixed it by deleting 2 automatically generated library Eclipse generated for me: Android Private Libraries with android-support-v4.jar inside and Android Dependencies with library.jar and annotations.jar inside.
8. Ran it again after deleting those libraries.
9. App crashes immediately after opening (tried several times).

What I've tried:
1. Deleting and reimporting everything including the jar files.
2. Changing min-sdk, target-sdk in manifest file

PLEASE HELP! Spent a week already trying to figure out what was wrong. Sad
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Mainnet in Base58 on: April 22, 2014, 06:19:25 PM
How do I find the main network of a certain coin encoded in Base58? I know Bitcoin is 0x00 for pub key and 0x80 for priv key and litecoin is 0x30 for pub key but how do I generate or find the hex in any coin I want?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / The Riecoin Foundation on: April 04, 2014, 01:39:09 AM
Excellent News!

The Riecoin Foundation is now officially open for donations and project developments! After a few days of delaying the foundation, we have tested, re-tested, confirmed, and re-confirmed our multisignature address to make sure that deposits/withdrawals and other functions were working to ensure that the community's donations are safe with our organization. No individual has control over the wallet address so you can be assured that your donations is safe with us.

Why should you make donations to us?
We are an organization that helps Gatra focus more on core development of Riecoin so he does not need to focus on whether he has enough funds to continue working on Riecoin development. Your donations will indirectly and directly help Riecoin.

Riecoin is a community-based coin. Without your support, Riecoin will die off. If it dies off, Riecoin will have no value and we believe that Riecoin is simply too precious for that to happen. Without your support, Riecoin value will slow decline into nothingness.

By supporting us, you are investing in Riecoin's potential indirectly.

What will my donations go towards
Anything you'd like. Just make a suggestions and the foundations will consider it. A majority vote inside the foundation is required for us to start on a project and focus on it entirely.

Right now, we have an arbitrary list of projects we'd like to work on. These projects includes:

  • Android App
  • Block Explorers
  • Merchant Acceptance
  • Optimized Pools

We have a small marketing team right now (anyone is welcomed to join or just help Riecoin individually) that is working on a press release to help create a buzz around Riecoin.

If we can't work on a project suggested, we will use the funds to hire a competent developer, promoter, or other individual who are able to complete the project. We will assist them to our fullest extent.

Why should I trust my donations to you northranger79510?
Great question! You shouldn't. However, I alone cannot control the wallet address. In order to withdraw the funds, I need signature from the majority of the foundation's members. You can be assured that a group of random stranger will not conspire against Riecoin because everyone inside the foundation all want the best for Riecoin.

Info on the foundation:

Foundation website: http://riecoinfoundation.org/
Foundation address: 3Pvb65ey4a1oFRRRkTYH5WYvg8hoLEr1Tu

END NOTE:

Please realize that The Riecoin Foundation is made up of 100% volunteers who donate their time and money to the organization so at time, our projects may seem stagnant, but rest assure that we are working on the projects as fast as we can. Please respect the foundation's members because they are using their free time to help develop Riecoin into the best coin out there!

I hope everyone in the community donates to the Riecoin Foundation to help out Gatra and advance Riecoin. Let us go to the moon together and become part of history!

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / The Riecoin Foundation on: March 18, 2014, 01:48:09 AM
Hi Everyone,

Because of Riecoin is growing into a big community, I figured we need to form some sort of organization in order to become more organized. When we unite as one, we are able to finish a lot more quickly than if we are random scatterers on the web doing their own thing. It might sound absurd but I would like to give this a try. I am forming a Riecoin Foundation. The only purpose of the foundation is to equip Riecoin with advance weapons. In other words, our purpose will be to gather funds and allocate funds in order of priority that the community will decide on using a voting system. I have already registered RiecoinFoundation.org. I will also donate 200 RIC to this foundation, in addition to the 150 RIC bounty I might receive for redesigning riecoin.org.

The foundation will be semi-trustless so you can rest assure this is not a scam in anyway nor will the Riecoin that the community donated will vanish in the future. We will of course be requiring donations from the Riecoin community for things such as hiring more developers to work with Gatra to relieve some of his stress that he has been accumulating, creating an android app (I might be able to help), paper wallets, etc. If there is no donations, there is no foundation and Riecoin needs an organized unit right now more than ever if we are going to stand out from the oceans of crypto-currencies already out there.

Now let me get to the semi-trustless part. For this to work, we need a minimum of five people who can dedicate themselves to the Riecoin Foundation. The Riecoin donation that we receive will go into an exchange of our choosing, hidden information from the public. The address will of course be available 24/7 for the community to check the amount inside the wallet. There will be 5 people who will each hold a part of the necessary information to withdraw Riecoin from the wallet. The first and second holds the username and password. The third holds the 2 factor authentication code, the fourth holds the email confirmation that will be required to withdraw Riecoin, and the fifth will hold the QR code required to enable 2 factor authentication in case the third person goes missing. Of course, drawbacks to this is that it will be troublesome and inconvenient to withdraw Riecoin for bounties but I would rather choose security over convenience. This system could fail if all of us decides to work together or if the exchange we hold our Riecoin in gets "hacked", but I see no other options. Keeping it inside the client would not be as trustless since you only need 2 people to work together to withdraw the Riecoin from the wallet (the wallet.dat file and key).

Right now, I am just taking names of all those interested. You can sign up with the google spreadsheet link provided below. I will be PMing those on the list.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0As6q17G29AHxdFNybXhyWDlJS0ZXZDZUeXRRRVVxZnc&usp=sharing

Schedule (not set in stone):

March 15-March 29: Foundation sign up.

March 30-April 4: Create a trustless system for the community to donate Riecoin

April 5-April 6: Upload Riecoin Foundation to riecoinfoundation.org, announce the team, get started.

April 7-ongoing: Get community members to donate and find ways to improve Riecoin using donation by providing bounties for:

Android App
More Developers
Marketplace
Wallet Design (like Particle)
Widespread Merchant Integration with bounties for the first couple that accept Riecoin

And the list goes on.....
7  Economy / Service Discussion / What I think of MtGox's disappearance and the media on: February 25, 2014, 05:03:28 PM
I say good riddance to MtGox. My condolences go out to those who lost their money and I do feel sorry for them. However, MtGox has been a blotch in Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies altogether. Sure, they might have been the biggest bitcoin exchange in the world, but because they let fame get to their head and violated their customers, they are now (in my opinion) nothing but scam artists. Good riddance to them. They've gained too much power over control of Bitcoin price. Bad news on MtGox = price go down. Good news = price goes up or remain stable. We can't let one exchange have semi-power over bitcoin or any cryptocurrencies if we are to actually believe in a decentralized economy. Good riddance to Bitcoin's Mt.Gox. Prices are down, sure. So? It was like 20$ at this time last year. Don't let one rotten apple ruin the whole basket.

And the media.....they are really something aren't they. Focus only on the bad news. They care either only for the exponential increase in prices or the bad of cryptos (specifically bitcoin). Silk Road, Silk Road 2, Mt.Gox's dissapearance, etc. They never focus on the good news like yesterday when a bank-like company called Neobee opened up in Cyprus. It is the first of its kind in Cyprus and I think the world that offers these services. But barely any news on them. None on major sites like Yahoo! but rather on Bitcoin-related news websites. Makes me think the media giants wants to make people think Bitcoin and cryptos are for drug dealers (because when I look on the comment sections on Bitcoin-related articles, first/second comment is "well because Silk Road got shut down..no real use for it".

That is my opinion and nothing more. Take it for what it is.

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Scam 3.0 At work on: February 05, 2014, 12:42:07 AM
So anyone notice the next generation breed of scammer presently?

This type of scammers are the most dangerous kind. They create a coin, make an account with coinname as username, post IPO or sell portion of shares for BTC, and does nothing afterwards. Pretty much they get your $800 bitcoin and you get coins made from coingen or copy and paste with a little bit of tweak coins. Noone knows who the dev. is or any other info. The dev. usually does not have any credentials as his account is spanking new. The dev. promises marketing and development on this coin but never delivers. I am not going to name these coins because there are too many.

Long story short, people trade in bitcoins/litcoins/or whatever coin currently of value for copy and paste clones with promises of great marketing.

Anyone notice?
