10  Other / Meta / How does feedback work exactly? on: August 10, 2014, 11:46:47 PM
I was wondering what all the numbers next to trust meant. I know one of them is positive trust, but what are all the other ones? Thanks!
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Have any of you guys turned off your miners? on: August 08, 2014, 04:16:39 AM
Being a miner myself, I just let my miners run for weeks on end and just make sure their hashrate is stable. I haven't actually checked profitability, because I thought it was going to stay relatively stable when it was ~0.004 / 4MH's X11. I recently checked profitability and it has PLUMMETED. I have NO idea why this is happening, but I'm starting to wonder how GPU mining is still profitable (including breaking even).

This brings the question: have any of you turned off your miners?

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is bitcoin ready for the mainstream? on: June 06, 2014, 01:33:23 AM
Whenever I try to explain bitcoin to my friends, I always get a rather negative response, somewhere along the lines of "That sounds dangerous" or "Sounds like it enables money laundering..."

With the negative press caused by recent hacks and "transaction malleability", bitcoin is developing an increasingly negative public image. Also, some people don't really enjoy the fact that we have to wait 10 minutes to get at least 1 confirmation, and these people go on to think of bitcoin as "criminal money".

My final question is, do you think bitcoin is ready for the mainstream, or should we focus more effort on improving public image?
14  Bitcoin / Hardware / Rack mounting troubles on: June 02, 2014, 11:52:42 PM
I'm very new to rack mounting and would appreciate advice on exactly how to do it. I don't know how racks are measured, how ANY of the rail systems work, and the like. I was wondering how it would be possible to mount something like a TerraMiner IV or an Antminer S2. I'm considering starting a home server with both servers and mining rigs, but I am roadblocked only on the basics. If you could ELI5 rackmounting to me, I would   appreciate that very much.

Thanks!
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Profitability recently on: April 20, 2014, 12:35:03 AM
The CoinWarz profitability seems to be going up for both Scrypt-N and Scrypt coins. I would have thought that, because of the scrypt ASIC's, profitability would go down. This doesn't seem to be the case. Any ideas?
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Best motherboard for mining on: April 10, 2014, 09:02:05 PM
I was wondering what the best motherboard for mining is, as I want to expand my mining farm. I want to know which motherboard will take the most GPU's  without shorting PCIE pins. Please provide detailed answers. Thanks!
17  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Antminer S1 break even.... on: March 17, 2014, 05:19:57 PM
I was looking at all the threads that are saying that the Antminer S1 is the best BTC miner to get currently because of its quick ROI. Is this true? Please post here if you own an Antminer S1 and have had it break even. Thanks!
18  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Interest in mining shares. on: January 12, 2014, 07:22:12 AM
I have a mining rig with 3x R9 280x's that, in combination, do about 2050 kh/s. Since I am not commiting to this for years, I will keep the pricing schedule weekly. I will probably price it like this:

200kh/s = 0.01 BTC/week.

Any interest in this?
19  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Interest in mining shares. on: January 12, 2014, 05:39:20 AM
Would any of you be interested in renting out my 2080kh/s miner for 0.22 BTC/week or 0.82 BTC/month? I am just surveying interest and want to start renting out my miner..

Prices can be negotiated.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Crypto currency for when Scrypt ASIC's come out. on: December 30, 2013, 03:17:10 AM
I think we need another currency to be created (based on a different algorithm) so that us GPU miners can still profit from our endeavors once Scrypt ASIC's come out. Alpha Technologies is (maybe?) releasing their Scrypt ASIC's. Are there any currencies (that exist) that can be mined by GPU's but still are not Scrypt?
