1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Exchanges hardware wallet models on: April 11, 2019, 09:56:51 PM
What type/models of hardware wallets would exchanges use?

Some have like 100k bitcoins in hardware wallets. How do they keep the qctual wallet from being compromized. They surely cannt let anyone even the owners tranfer funds outside from it or even hold it  Grin
Thats open to criminals chasing people with access to those wallets even if the employees were honest they are still under risk if they have sole access. So what type of hardware wallets would they use?

I see ledger has a wallet that can have multi seed access and transaction size restrictions but thats something new, surely there was a solution before ledegers one.
2  Bitcoin / Project Development / Credit card processors for bitcoin brokerage service on: May 16, 2018, 02:38:46 PM
Hi Guys,

Would you know any credit card processors that would process credit card payments for buying bitcoin?
As you all know they all block those type of transactions but yet the big companies are accepting credit cards for buying bitcoins.
We have a small bitcoin broker website that only takes SEPA payments and we are looking to add credit card payments as an option.

Thank you!
3  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Want to understand how online transaction services work on: November 01, 2017, 03:19:48 PM
Hi Guys,

What would be a good starting point to understand and learn how transactions are done on behalf of users. Like the exchanges.
User has own bitcoin address in say bitstamp/kraken/blockchain.info
The user has their own 24 words seed.
What I want to learn is how the different providers initiate a transaction on behalf of the user from the users wallet. Surely they don't store users passphrase, that sounds way too unsecure.

Any articles, github project, would be much appreciated.

Sorry for the basic question.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [NXT] - More API calls for NXT Asset exchange operations on: January 24, 2014, 12:54:49 PM
Lets discuss more API calls needed for optimal use of the Decentralized Exchange

Some APIs are already implemented and are documented in here
http://wiki.nxtcrypto.org/wiki/Nxt_API#Asset_exchange_operations

I would think that we need at least:

  • Get AssetID by Asset Name - an API call by passing asset name to give back assetID
  • Get AssetIDs by AccountID - an API call by passing an account id to show all the assets owned by the account
  • Get BID_ASK Orders by Asset ID- an API call by passing an asset id to show all bid_ask orders for the asset so we can build order book.

Please add more API Asset requests.

EDIT: THERE IS A THREAT ALREADY DISCUSSING API SO USE IT INSTEAD: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=406839.40

7  Other / Beginners & Help / I have 9btc in bitstamp at 1000 should I wait? on: December 08, 2013, 09:13:16 PM
I developed a bot that trades on bitstamp. It simply buys when price is dropping and sells when going up. ppl call it B'n'H I think.. buy and hold:)

it has a step and volume, it bought when btc was going down and now I have 9btc tight in the range of 1000-1100

Do you think its ok to wait to get back to 1100?
I guess no one knows but dunno thought I post and see what people think.

btw if anyone wants the bot let me know... I can post the source code too its in c-sharp. I am unsure how to use github yet but might try put it in there
