3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bboycoin on: June 18, 2014, 10:50:21 AM
I am asking for help in creating a coin for the Bboy(Breakdancing) Community. I am a Community organizer for the community. The Bboy Culture is a worldwide entity Countries battle Countries Cities Battle Cities. My idea is to make a coin for the community that can be used for worldwide events as payments, Prizes or entry to events. Alot of Bboys dont have jobs or come from poor countries and have to save for months to attend a event some sponsors offer travel and merchandise but rarely $$$ unless its a corporation like Redbull. We all use the internet and im sure the Bboys in China,Korea and other countries know about Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency. If someone can help me make this a reality it would be awesome. I was going to use coingin but i wasnt sure how legit that was.
Guidance and Knowledge is appreciated in advance

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Native American tribes adopt Bitcoin-like currency, prepare to battle US governm on: March 05, 2014, 02:56:44 PM
The programmer and Native American activist Payu Harris raised a gavel Monday night and vigorously banged the bell to open trading at The Bitcoin Center, a meeting space for virtual currency geeks that looks like an empty art gallery in the middle of New York’s Financial District.

Harris was there to promote MazaCoin, a cousin of Bitcoin that is now the official currency of the seven bands that make up the Lakota nation. After an hour of questions, Harris thanked the small crowd and was promptly accosted by a tall man and a woman in red who wanted to buy some MazaCoin, which Harris was selling for 10 cents apiece. The two trailed him around the room as he hunted for a printer so he could issue the digital currency on paper. MazaCoin is a month-old cryptocurrency based on the same proof-of-work algorithm as Bitcoin, the virtual currency that approximates cash on the internet — but no one in the room was equipped to made a digital trade.

There have been a slew of copycats since the rise of Bitcoin in 2009. The first wave attempted to improve on the basic Bitcoin protocol. The second wave, which includes the meme-based Dogecoin and the Icelandic Auroracoin, are catering to specific groups.

It has been a tough month for MtGox, the once-dominant bitcoin exchange, starting with a freeze on withdrawals due to a transaction malleability bug and now the Tokyo-based marketplace is relocating its headquarters. Bitcoiners have hoped that MtGox would today announce a resumption of withdrawals, following its statement on 17th February. However, today’s update simply noted that the exchange has experienced “some security problems” and MtGox has decided to relocate to its previous office building in Shibuya.
