1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Home server for multiple coin staking on: June 15, 2017, 08:51:03 PM
Hey guys,
I'm staking about 3-4 coins on my main PC right now and they eat up about 4-5GB ram (win7 x64 OS) and every time I restart/crash it's annoying to load unlock all wallets again, or copy old backup blockchain in case of pivx (database corrupts with every crash) also I'm thinking to add new staking coins, so I'd need some kind of a quiet home server. Building it from new parts seems to be quite expensive, small ITX cases, new mobo, cpu, ram, it can go up to 500$ very easily and it doesn't even have storage. I'm not sure if normal HDDs can handle multiple staking wallets, right now I'm on a 500GB SSD (this handles anything easily). Share if you know any good used older model home servers, like dell optiplex models, they are not really servers but I used a few of them and they are quite reliable. I'm not sure if ECC ram and xeon cpu is really needed for 24/7 staking, I don't think it's a must, any i5 cpu should be fine about 8gb of ram. Hit me up with some suggestions. Thanks
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Proposed guideline changes for new coin ANN (mods please read) on: September 26, 2016, 02:59:04 PM
Hey people,

I'm reading a lot of new coin announcements and it is getting seriously worse day by day. You can't find relevant info without scrolling through 2-3-4 pages of people asking to reserve bounties/translations. It would help everyone, including those who seek bounty for translation/sharing/signature campaign if we had a separate subforum just for these kind of things. Those who want translators/social media sharers could easily look up the sub forum and pick their choice without spamming in the main announcement thread. Also those who care about the coins function/innovation/vision only, they can have a pleasant easy to read ANN thread.

All you have to do is open one sub forum for translation, where all new coins would make a separate thread for their own coins, stating what translation they need, how much they pay and so on. Also a second sub forum for altcoin bounties, for everything else (facebook sharing, twitter, signature campaigns, whatever you wish).

This would help everybody, even with only one sub forum for ALL kind of bounties, especially those who seek bounties every day and it is somewhat of a part time job for them.

The punishment for asking bounties/translations in the main ANN thread would be something like: 24h (1st), 48h (2nd), 96h (3rd) and so on, user/IP bans for those who don't follow the guideline. I don't know how to ban people without making thread self-moderated other than mods constantly banning but that would be a very labor heavy job for mods, some kind of community down voting would make that easy (if that's possible here).

Thanks for reading and please make this happen !
