1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Stratumsphere ☁️ - Cloud Rental System for Mining Farms on: April 19, 2018, 01:46:11 AM

Automate your hashpower, streamline your operations, and deliver excellent uptime to your customers!

Bringing Modern IT Principles into Cryptocurrency Mining

Why do we still manage our customers, mining hardware and facilities as if we were in a data center in 1997? The advent of cloud technology in the IT sector has completely transformed our world and has made operational costs cheaper while increasing customer satisfaction. With Stratumsphere's HASH Scheduler service you can easily rent your hashpower in a white-label cloud format directly to your customers on a mining pool of their choice. That's right, 100% transparent cloud mining under your own branding.

The best part? No software to install or servers to run, just connect your miners to Stratumsphere as if it was a standard mining pool. Our service works with your mining traffic, not your hardware.

How it Works

1. Connect - No software installation required! Point your mining rigs (workers) at your HASH Scheduler the same way you would point them at a mining pool.
2. Configure - Create rentals for your customers. Set your personal mining pool for idle and degraded workers. Adjust your scheduler settings based on your facility trends and customers.
3. Failover - During worker failure, degradation, or disconnection on a customer(s) rental; workers mining for you personal stack are automatically provisioned over to your customer's rental.
4. Manage - View healthy, degraded, failed, or offline workers. Receive SMS and Email notifications when events occur. Change your customers rentals in real time. Integrate our API into your applications.

Innovative Features

High Availability for Streamlined Customer Service

Say no to angry customers and late night support requests! Stratumsphere will automatically provision your personal stack of workers that are mining for you over to your customer's rental in the event that hardware loses performance, power, or network connectivity. Not only can you easily sell to individual miners for your bottom end, you can also service your miners on your own schedule and not your customers.

Effective Monitoring & Statistics

Unlike other mining monitoring solutions on the market, Stratumsphere monitors your operation based off of calculated share submission. View the real health of your operation and monitor what your customers are actually receiving on their end, avoiding biased hardware reports. This helps your business avoid the confusion typically experienced between your staff and customer when discussing a rental's performance.

Sell Rentals from your Website or Apps

Our API Documentation allows you to easily integrate Stratumsphere anywhere. Your customer never needs to know what's under the hood either, making the service completely white-label. Accelerate your mining business and start selling real hashpower to your customers today!

  • SHA256, X11, Scrypt, and Ethash Algorithm Support

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / [GUIDE] Setup Your Own Mining Pool on: October 19, 2015, 01:13:55 AM
I have created a new guide on how to create your own mining pool. I originally made Novices Guide to Setting up a Crypto-Currency Mining Pool but this is a replacement for that guide since MPOS is now out-dated.

This new guide utilizies uNOMP, and is a bit more streamlined then the old guide.

Here's the New Guide:
http://blockgen.net/blog/setup-your-own-mining-pool/

All the software used in the guide is free/open source.

I will check this thread occasionally and try to answer some questions.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Novice’s Guide to Setting up a Crypto-Currency Mining Pool on: May 03, 2015, 03:16:15 PM
I have created a guide on how to create your own mining pool for a single crypto-currency (not a multipool). I tried to make it as novice friendly as possible and explain every step. All you really need is a very, very basic knowledge of Linux and some patience. I feel like it's important for crypto that more people are capable of running a mining pool, or at least have the knowledge of it.

This is a revamp of my guide I wrote in February, I cleaned it up and made it easier to follow. As well as added a table of contents to make navigation easier.

Main Guide:
http://blockgen.net/blog/novices-guide-to-setting-up-a-crypto-currency-mining-pool/

Supplementary Guides:
http://blockgen.net/blog/basic-hardening-and-security-for-your-pool/

All the software used in the guide(s) is free/open source.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

5  Bitcoin / Pools / [ANN] BlockGen - Mining Pool Reviews and Rankings on: April 24, 2015, 03:12:14 AM

Crypto-Currency Mining Pool Review, Rating and Ranking Website

About BlockGen

BlockGen began in March of 2015, it was formed out the idea that there is no central place to find and compare reputable crypto-currency mining pools and aims to fill that gap. It was designed to make life easy for crypto-currency miners. Say you are a miner looking to mine Bitcoin, all you would have to do is use the filter and select the crypto-currency Bitcoin and all the pools that will allow you to mine Bitcoin or payout in Bitcoin will appear in a ranking order from best to worst. No more searching through various forum threads, google searches, and everywhere else. Pools are consolidated and easy to filter, for whatever you are looking for.

While open source and/or free pool software is great for the crypto-currency community, sometimes it can also bring about bad people. There has been numerous pools in the past that have stolen miners' coins, or charged them more fees when they were stating, and many other bad things. BlockGen aims to alleviate this problem, by holding them accountable for their actions via reviews and ratings. If miners see that a pool has gotten horrible reviews/ratings over an extended period of time they will know to stay away from said pool.

How it Works

BlockGen Score
The BlockGen score is just a simple formula that assigns a score to a pool based on the number of reviews and average rating, this is what ranks the pools by default on our homepage. The BlockGen score updates every hour. The score does not take effect until there is at least 2 reviews.

For Miners
Simply register an account and activate it, once activated you can rate/review your favorite pools. You can rate/review multiple pools, however we have a hard limit set in place so you can only rate/review any given pool once per week. Comments are not limited.

For Pool Admins
Pool admins can register an account on BlockGen and add their mining pool, after their ownership/relation to said pool has been manually verified by the BlockGen admin team they will have complete access over their Pool Details page. They have the ability to edit all of their pool details, upload banners and logos, write their own description, and much more. The pool admin is allowed to reply to reviews on their pool, and they are highlighted and called "Official Replies".

BlockGen admins DO NOT post reviews, and heavily monitor all reviews to make sure they are spam free and that multiple reviews for one pool are not made from the same IP or pool admin.

I feel like it's important for crypto that more people are capable of running a mining pool, or at least have the knowledge of it.

I wrote the guide for Litecoin. However, it can be easily adapted to Bitcoin. Just a few things you'd need to change in the guide that are self explanatory anyway and you can ask for help if you get confused about it.

Here's the guide:
http://blockgen.info/showthread.php?tid=2

Here is an example of what you would be setting up if you follow the guide:
http://miningpool.website/index.php

All the software used in the guide is free/open source.

I will try and create more guides as time goes on. I will also support the guides I currently have, so feel free to ask any questions pertaining to the guide in the Help & Support forum. Anybody else that is knowledgeable with mining pool software, or linux feel free to help other users.

This is also the "early access" launch of my site. Eventually the main site of BlockGen will heavily benefit both miners and pool operators, but those details are mine to know.

I will check this thread occasionally and try to answer some questions, however please refer to my site.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Scrypt Mining Rig, caseless question. on: December 07, 2013, 05:46:25 AM
So I was having overheating issues running my 2 280x's in my mid-sized ATX case. I google'd and read up a bunch of stuff and saw that a lot of people were running mining rigs caseless in everything from a milk crate, wire shelf, etc...

I went out and bought a wire shelf for cheap ($19) that's 3 shelves high. Looks a lot like this: http://www.wire-furniture.com/pics/WIRE_SHELVING_BL.jpg
The shelves height are adjustable.

Now my question is, I see plenty of threads on gaming/overclocking websites of test benches running on top of a cardboard motherboard box etc.. However, I see this as a fire hazard and not a long-term solution. What do I mount underneath the motherboard/components so they do not short out or cause any other hazards.

Any tips or advice is welcome! Thank you.
