This guide outlines the steps to set up solo mining using Stratum V2.

Execution Order:

Template Provider (TP)
Job Declarator Client (JDC)
Translator
Mining Device

Setup Requirements:

Template Provider (TP):
A modified Bitcoin Core version that creates block templates and sends them to the JDC.
Clone Fi3's GitHub repository, switch to the 'PatchTemplates' branch, build Bitcoin Core, and launch with: /src/bitcoind -stratumv2 -stratumv2port=8442.
If you're unable to run your own node, contact us for alternative instructions.

Job Declarator Client (JDC):
Connects to the pool for job declaration and acts as a proxy between the pool and your mining device.
From Fi3's Stratum repository (DEMAND-BRANCH), navigate to /roles/jd-client.
Run JDC using: POOL_KIND=SOLO ADDRESS=YOUR OWN MINER ADDRESS cargo run.
Wait for the readiness message, then start the translator. Example message: 2023-12-04T11:59:14.686071Z INFO jd_client::downstream: Listening for downstream mining connections on 0.0.0.0:34265.

Translator:
Use this if your mining device isn't Stratum V2 compatible. It aggregates devices into one connection and translates between Stratum V2 and V1.
From the Fi3's Stratum repository (DEMAND-BRANCH), navigate to /roles/translator.
Run the translator using: cargo run.

Mining Device Setup:
Point your mining device to [IP address of translator]:34255.

Important Notes:
At the moment, DEMAND's infrastructure is for testing purposes. User data, including shares sent, won't be kept, and withdrawal is currently disabled.

Deployments are on a single server; expect possible outages. Report connection issues on Telegram group or here.

The Template Provider in Bitcoin Core can be unstable and may require restarts. An automatic restarting solution is in progress.

Users are responsible for building correct templates, though using the recommended template provider is advised.

Taproot is a proposed Bitcoin protocol upgrade that can be deployed as a forward-compatible soft fork. By combining the Schnorr signature algorithm with MAST (Merklized Abstract Syntax Trees) and a new scripting language called Tapscript, Taproot will expand Bitcoin’s smart contract flexibility, while offering more privacy by letting users mask complex smart contracts as a regular bitcoin transaction.

A soft fork is a change to the Bitcoin protocol wherein only previously valid blocks/transactions are made invalid. Since old nodes will recognize the new blocks as valid, a soft fork is forward-compatible.

Soft forks can be activated in several ways. Several of the previous soft forks have been activated using BIP 9, which requires a (super)majority of miners (by hash power) to signal support for the upgrade. A proposed alternative is BIP 8, which could activate the upgrade after some time even without a (super)majority of miners signaling support.

The aim of this site is to assist in the activation of the Taproot soft fork. We have reached out to several Bitcoin mining pools to find out if:

If they support the Taproot upgrade
If so, which activation method they prefer
If they want to insert a coinbase message in a block to announce their preference (even before the actual activation window opens)

1. Log in or sign up at bcc-wallet.btc.com to access our Bitcoin Cash wallet in your desktop’s browser.


2. Click on “Settings” and then under the Tools section you’ll find a tool to let you “Import external wallets”.





3. Enter your other wallet’s recovery phrase in the pop up window.





For Blockchain.info it is a 12 word recovery phrase on a PDF that you should have received when you were making your account. (If you do not find it, go to Settings → Security in your blokcchain.info wallet and click “Backup Phrase”.)


4. Hit “Next”. The tool will now search for positive balances in your wallet.


5. If you have Bitcoin Cash in your wallet, click “Send” and you are all set! Your Bitcoin Cash will instantly appear in your BTC.com Bitcoin Cash wallet.

New FPPS(Full PPS) Mode

FPPS settlement mode, which distributes both the coinbase reward and the transaction fee to miners based on PPS, while traditional PPS does not allocate the transaction fee.

This new settlement mode increases miners revenue by as much as 9% at certain transaction fee levels when compared to traditional PPS.

Open source code

BTC pool code is open source and anyone can access Github to view the back-end code. BTC pool has been through the simulated stress test, which can withstand 180,000 miners connected at the same time. Take the 4.73T Antminer S7 and 14T S9 for calculation, the equivalent of 180,000 S7 equals more than 50% of total network hash rate, and the equivalent of 180,000 S9 equals more than the current full-network hashrate. Now the simulator is available on GitHub.

Multi-node deployment

Given the global network interoperability problems and Chinese special circumstances, BTC pool server deployed in the world's major Bitcoin "producing areas". Miners can choose the nearest regional node to ensure the stability of network connectivity. User's sub-account is tied to a node, which reduces the complexity of BTC pool data and improve the efficiency and stability.

High-speed broadcast network

To reduce the orphaned block rate, BTC pool deployed nearly 20 FIBER node (high-speed broadcast network). With the help of FIBER, BTC pool can monitor other pools and reduce block delay. In order to reduce the overall industry orphaned block rate, the FIBRE Docker developed by BTC pool is available on GitHub.

Transparent agent

In addition to the simulator, the current release includes the transparent BTCAgent, a stratum agent for large-scale mining farm. BTCAgent optimizes the stratum protocol, greatly simplifies the data volume. It will greatly improve the communication efficiency between the farm and the pool, saving bandwidth, stabilizing connection and monitoring data. BTC.com team has been dedicated to mining industry for a long time, well aware that the large-scale network environment is poor, so put BTCAgent as a service standard. According to actual estimates, after deploying BTCAgent, running 10,000 miners only needs 1Mbps bandwidth which is only 10% of the consumption of direct traffic. The download only takes 1/2000 of direct traffic. Also, with the general mining agent, users can't monitor single miner data. But with BTCAgent, users can manage the grouping and moving for all miners.
