[ANN][slock.it][Company] IoT meets blockchain - A TheDAO proposal

Slock.it is a company. TheDAO is a DAO.
Slock.it is a company. We have nothing to do with TheDAO. They are different things. We will make a proposal to get $ETH from TheDAO. What do you get in return? That is up to the voters. We might offer you nothing or we might offer you the entire equity of the company. You vote on proposals. Read them carefully.

What will the first proposals to the DAO include?

There are currently only two "Approved" options to vote for. Check out the first proposals here:

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Factom is a centralized service. on: September 04, 2015, 05:31:05 PM

Factom's use of the word "federated" is deceiving. Their mining process should be called "centralized".

It will consist of 8 Factom exclusive centralized servers which will mine 50% of all total coins.

In the end, this "crowd sale" only sold the public 25% of all coins. 25% of the coins go to early investors who bought in way cheaper than the public (such a scam). This whole project is a joke and nothing useful for the bitcoin community. All they did was create an altcoin with exclusive mining priviledges that hashes data and stores it on the bitcoin blockchain.

If only 25% of coins are crowd sale they shouldn't be using the term crowd sale. They should call this traditional pre-2009 style investing where scammers get in early and hype up the project to sell it at a higher price to other people.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [1COP2COS] The Pre-Crowdsale/Early Sale/Seed Investor Scam aka The Bubble Scam on: August 20, 2015, 11:14:38 PM

The Private Pre-Crowdsale/Pre-Sale/Early-Sale/Pre-ICO/Seed Investor Scam

a.k.a. The Bubble Scam

1COP2COS

This scam is becoming more common and it's creating a bubble! It's a simple scam but requires influence to accomplish successfully.

- Make deals with developers.
- Get in early.
- Use early funds for marketing.
- Use your influence to over sell a public crowdsale.
- Use influence to further drive up price when it hits market.
- Cash out and keep some.
- Public investors are bag holding.
- Scammer is on to promote the next big thing.

Some people might not think this is a scam but it most definitely is. Some people will say it's like paying a % of total coins for "marketing" so it's not a scam.
This is a scam because the promoters are getting in earlier than the public.

The private nature of these pre-crowdsales is where the scam lies.

If the public could participate in raising funds for "marketing" then this would be transparent and not a scam.

This strategy is leading to a bubble. The Public are paying ridiculous prices for "ideas" because the people behind NEWS and etc. are telling them to buy at that price. The early investors can make large profits...

This strategy removes the ability of outside public investors to make much profits. As an outside investor you have to pay for an overvalued product in hopes that the bubbles gets even bigger! This is dangerous.

Let the public in on the "pre-sale"!

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / If these users like a new coin, DO NOT BUY! on: July 27, 2015, 08:02:58 PM
I'm starting list of people who I think suck (most likely push scams). Feel free to add on with users you think suck.

@Coingrab

If you see any of the above users responding positively to a coin, beware and do lots of research before joining!

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / [ANN] [SCAM] Officially Announcing BITTREX Sucks on: June 28, 2015, 06:57:51 AM

I officially announce that BITTREX is a joke.

Feel free to announce why you think BITTREX is a scam.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / The BITTREX de-listing SCAM on: June 28, 2015, 01:44:59 AM

The BITTREX de-listing SCAM

How the scam works:

1) Remove the coin from the exchange.

2) Do not return coins to the owners.

A simple but effective scam.

I have proposed many solutions to BITTREX in an attempt to stop this scam. BITTREX doesn't listen. I do NOT want to write a formal complaint to the SEC about BITTREX on behalf of my 8 clients and myself. My goal here is to have BITTREX make a pro-active change in the way they operate.

Here are some solutions:

1) Allow users to enter a "de-listing public address" where coins will be sent to if the coin ever becomes de-listed.

if users do not have a de-listing address set,

2) Email users the private keys to their funds.

3) Show users the private keys to their de-listed coins inside the HTTPS: BITTREX account panel.

I'm sure there are many other solutions as well.

Other exchanges that run this de-listing scam:

- c-cex

Exchanges that do NOT participate in the de-listing scam:

- poloniex

- cryptsy

Demand more from BITTREX.

* I will give BITTREX until January 1st 2016 to either make appropriate changes to how they operate or issue a press release on this matter.

If they continue to steal users coins, I will have no choice but to report them on behalf of my clients and myself.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / cryptopia.co.nz Is looking to be a great exchange so far. on: June 18, 2015, 05:50:11 PM

If cryptopia.co.nz can hold together the security of their exchange I believe it will be huge. I love that they are adding value to coins by providing a block explorer.

I hope they are able to add features like cloned shapeshift.io and merchant API systems for ecommerce.

Demand more from exchanges. Bittrex is trash. Make them offer more services for coins. They do nothing to support coins.

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The ICO/Pre-sale/Crowd-sale/Crowd-funding "Marketing Scam" on: February 21, 2015, 09:03:22 PM

The ICO/Pre-sale/Crowd-sale/Crowd-funding "Marketing Scam"

I recently became aware of an interesting trade secret on how to run a successful ICO. After creating a small crypto magazine with 5,000 active users/followers, I was contact by a company called https://koinify.com to promote an ICO. This offer included a payment of 5 BTC worth of a token called GEMs https://koinify.com/#/project/GEMZ . I turned down their offer as I felt this was form of scamming investors into purchasing GEMs. Over the coming weeks I started noticing gems being talked about on cryptonews youtube channels and blogs. I have researched koinify and never do I see a mention of this activity.

I wonder how Koinify was able to hide these gem giveaways for marketing purposes. Did Koinify buy their own gems and take back BTC as well? Did a big investor buy additional gems without receiving them? Did they hide this in the development budget?

Koinify has no transparency with how raised funds are being used. No one knows what they are doing with the gem funds any more.

Would you invest in an ICO if you knew the people talking about it were receiving 5 BTC+ payments to talk about it? Is this why many ICOs immediately drop in value once they are available for exchange?

I find this way of marketing of an ICO to be fully acceptable if it is transparent. Hiding these free coins is a scam. I would like Koinify to be openly transparent about what % of coins will be given out to market their ICOs. Investors should be aware of this before purchasing an ICO.

P.S. Sorry to pick only on Koinify. I'm sure many ICOs have been doing this scam. Koinify has the FACTOM ICO coming out in March which looks amazing. Koinify does a lot of good work. My only problem with them is this secret marketing scam to attract investors.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / SCAM Watcher: [AM] AeroME | formerly [AERO] Aero | 100% PoS | Anonymous Sending on: February 01, 2015, 02:35:27 AM

Crypto Watcher

[AM] AeroME | formerly known as [AERO] Aero | 100% PoS | Anonymous Sending

SCAM Alert level is currently low

AM AeroMe is low level risk of executing a scam know as the "manual coinswap".

How does the "manual coinswap" scam work?

1) Create a new coin that is 100% premined.

2) Ask for users of the old coin (Aero) to exchange their coins for the new coin (AeroMe) before a deadline.

3) Burn or keep all unclaimed new coins (AeroMe).

4) Pump AeroMe.

5) Release a new feature to generate news and buy support.

6) Dump AeroMe.

For your safety,

The following guidelines should always be followed when performing a coinswap.

18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Blockchain block parser for POS or POW/POS coins on: January 29, 2015, 10:42:30 PM

Does that parser work for POS coins?

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Longer-term multipool mining (TODO) on: December 02, 2014, 05:58:09 AM

I wish someone would take multipool mining seriously and not just mine the highest paying coin. I would rather see my hashing power get used to actually be mining coins that have a future, new coins and undervalued coins. Then pay out once those coins start succeeding later on. It's a lot of work to figure out which coin to mine for the future. If someone could specialize in this it would be one of the most popular ways to mine. It would take a team of dedicated specialists but it would be a big business.

This would save me so much time. This is what I do myself. I make way more profits mining this way but it takes up a ton of time.

I would accept some pretty high fees if you did really well with which coins you mine with the hashing power.

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Transparent Crypto Coin Swap Guidelines on: December 02, 2014, 12:13:10 AM
I have started some guidelines for coins thinking of doing a coin swap.

Transparent Crypto Coin Swap Guidelines:

#1 All wallets are forward compatible. Original wallets must work with new blockchains.

#2 Automatic payouts. Find all the addresses + balances. Send back all the coins in the first block of the new blockchain.

#3 Maintain copies of the older blockchains through multiple channels of distribution. Advanced work can be done to create a custom block explorer that combines both blockchains allowing users to search through both seamlessly as 1 chain.

*These guidelines should be followed when possible. There are times where a swap requires a different kind of wallet rendering the coin unable to comply with these guidelines.☬

**Failure to comply with these guidelines will allow for valid scam accusation associated with the coin swap process.

☬If a wallet needs to be upgraded to add features/security, the old wallet should still work with limited features/security.

Please add on to this list or raise issues with the current guidelines. The goal of these guidelines is to allow coins to perform a coin swap without valid scam accusations by being fully transparent about the process.

Best practice rules when doing a coin swap.

How to send coins from an old blockchain to a newer blockchain.
